I’m so blessed that I was able to be obsessed and share this song, Aacro’s Revenge, and Beautiful Death before this musical blows up. I have had this song and the others on repeat for the past week. Every single cast member has such an anointing, and I tear up every single time I play the second to last song. There is so much intricacy even with the vocal casting and instrumental behind each voice to match the characters: ashra’s light but mighty voice with the bass behind it to both counteract and balance her, Aacro’s sly and flowing voice with almost a dark twinge in the beat and instruments behind him, and Mathias’s whimsy and soft but powerful voice almost innocent. Like, this musical was written in a very Lin Manuel Miranda way with how each character has their own sound but they’re all able to flow together to make different moods. Truly my favorite piece of biblical fiction there is. I have never gotten Holy Spirit chills as intense from a song as when Mathias tries to get Jesus’s attention “Jesus…JEsus, JESUS………LEPER.” Thank you so much Anna, for making this public and living in your calling.
Aacro: Ashra... Ashra: Aacro! Aacro: Ashra... Ashra: Aacro Aacro: Ashra... Ashra: Aacro Aacro: Ashra, where is he? Ashra: Where is who? Aacro: Don't play dumb with me Where's the boy Who made you that copper ring? Ashra: He's out on business Aacro: You wish that were fact Both: But we both know him better than that Ashra: Leave me be... Aacro: No, you owe this to me Let me show you what we could have been if you didn't choose him (Leave me be...) No, you owe this to me To at least let me have my revenge Let me show you what you're missing In my arms you won't miss him Let me kiss you till you're numb to the pain And I will top your drink off And you can take your ring off And I'll hold you while the moon's awake... I'll be waiting inside for you, Ash Ashra: I loved you Matthias, I really did But you left Aacro... Aacro: Ashra Ashra: Aacro Aacro: Ashra Ashra: Aacro
I’m also very obsessed with Dear Icarus. Your talent is beyond.
