I can't tell you to remember me, but I can't bear for you to forget me. These last few years since I became ill...I'm so sorry for what I did to you, did to us... You've given me so much and I haven't bee able to return a single thing. That's why I want you to live for yourself now. Do what's best for you, James. James... You made me happy. 😭
My fiancé passed away not long before I first ever played this game. The plot couldn’t have hit me any harder. Feeling the pain and loss was all the more real and stronger for me than most people. And I couldn’t help but burst into tears after this scene, especially with this music playing
I can't imagine the pain that you have to go through. That phenomenon seems like something far fetched and impossible to me. You must feel hollow and alone, I hope you are doing well now.
Keep pushing man. Keep walking your way through life. For yourself, for the friends and family you still have, for all of us. It get better, maybe not anytime soon... But it will. Someday, it will. Go on with your life. You make people happy.
It still hurts me that she never had any ill will against James, all of that was in James' own head because he believed she hated him for it. She knows why he did what he did and she apologises for it despite not needing to at all, she sees herself as a burden but appreciated how much he gave her. She loves him to the point that she wants him to forget about her and move on with a new life. He's not a good man but nor is he a bad man, it's not really about right and wrong. She didn't deserve what came to her but I guess that's the point, bad things happen to good people and we don't have the right to judge actions as black and white. The only ones who can are the ones involved
I think he is bad for killing her... he should've tried to contain her as she was dying. Ultimately, it was very hard to do, but he still jumped into an extreme solution. I think what I also dislike is his motive... it would be better if he did it as a mercy kill, but if his words are to be taken at face value - he did it selfishly, to get on with his life.

Team Silent worked hard for this game and i will always adore it. (also yeah one year but idk it makes me happy to see others who love this game too seeing as i know almost no one who has played it irl.)
@@TaintedTownMusic it's funny because until you posted this track,no one ever ever mentioned it. Ever. Since then I kept linking to this vid and promoting it, and now every 'silent hill ambiance' vid uses it lol
The first part is, it plays at the very end of the Leave ending, when James and Laura are, well, leaving. I do wish it had played when James and Mary were talking though
This is one of the musical pieces which crushes me on a soul level. It reminds me of the tragic life of Mary and James. It’s almost heavenly. It’s beautiful. It’s morbid. It makes you think about dying.
This one hits hardest for me. The first half sounds bright and calm, but there's that undertone of regret and tender sadness. If one day you have ever truly, entirely loved someone and lost them, you'll feel it in your bones. The memories and heartache in the stasis of nostalgia. Smiles, tender hugs, beautiful moments shared together. And you wish you could just get one second of one of those moments once again, just one single second. Cherished moments lost to the past, never to return. The sadness of having been happy. And deep down you know, that's what makes them so valuable. So you look back fondly, knowing you _had_ that. This music crystalizes all of this perfectly to me.
I thought I heard it in the leave ending when James confronts María, it sounds very little but for me it was enough, I love this song, it's my favorite
i hate how game companies claim.. ah yes! the full ost is out on apple music and spotify! but literally THE MOST important song is missing, hello ????????

Silent Hill 2 is a master piece, if only those from Team Silent got more credit for it...the actors two the deserve it for making such a beautiful game and story. the music is so perfect...this song especially the first 1:29 of it. It brings a feeling of well...peace and serenity especially after all the things the game puts you through...this will always be my favorite game.
It's amazing what the power of beautiful Silent Hill music can bring to one's inner thoughts and make them imagine whatever they feel goes good with the track, thus making ourselves feel at Peace & Serenity.
The delicate whispers of the past bring with them echos of our own existence. And with that comes conflicting feelings: on one hand, ominious omens, on the other, pure bliss.
I can cry so hard with this music. That part in the game really hit me. After this whole nightmarish ordeal, James has a final talk with Mary but, depending on what James chooses to make of it i.e. which ending - this music feels like the void you feel after completing a journey.
This song (and the moment it accompanies) is so tragic and heartbreaking. It leaves me with a deep feeling of sadness, regret, longing, and ultimately… catharsis. Emotions I’m sure James felt in that moment. What a game.
This track feels along the lines of the light at the end of a long dark tunnel, or at the very least a clear headedness after trudging through a quagmire of grief. A sense of clarity that tells you that everything really will be alright, and that you really will get through what’s baring down on you from all sides.
there was a period of time where i would fall asleep to no commentary playthroughs of SH2. That sounds weird, I know, but there's something rhythmic and hypnotizing about the sound design and pacing of the game. Even the horror elements are more quietly eerie than shocking. I found myself waking up at this part of the game a lot, sometimes even still in the middle of the night. for whatever reason, something about this track would stir me awake and implant itself in my brain, somewhere in the shift between dreams of my past and my current reality. the song feels like gazing into the distance out of a cloudy window and seeing the one thing or person that made life worth it, even for just an instant, before you draw the curtains to sit alone in the quiet.
Reading your comment while listening to the soundtrack gave me a feeling that I've never felt my whole life, like being passed out while still awake, can't even describe it in words.
TaintedTownMusic Agreed. James had to past trough all that. Only after the storm that the calm arrives. Trough suffering we get stronger and discover our true self
This still brings tears to my eyes every time I listen to it. When I hear this song I always imagine myself flying above the Earth, watching the Sun rising over the horizon. Emotions overflow me and I can't hold the tears. It's so beautiful and peaceful.
I listened to this whole complete soundtrack & i knew this song was coming. Makes me choke up even after all these years. That conversation between James & Mary is really really sad
When I first played this, all the way back in 2003. I knew nothing about depression or loss. Cut to 2023 having gone through a major phase of depression, this now hits like a train.
Depression's been with me for most of my life, due to family issues and poor living conditions. This game and its soundtracks always hit like a fighter jet for me
James is the player's Maria. James did some horrible things. He suffered for what he did, suffered before it, during it, after it. He's an avatar of grief and sorrow. He regrets his actions and fights to change things that cannot be changed. What he did is unforgiveable. And yet, he's sympathetic because unlike an actual person, James' evolution doesn't continue past this game. So we're left to see James stuck in a loop, meant to represent all the states he has gone through. He's the selfish violence that ended someone he loved. He's the regretful husband who didn't want to lose his wife. He's the caring person who wants to help others, but keeps failing. The reason James is the player's Maria is because he's what *we* want and need all in one. We need to see how he handles his suffering, his mistakes, his choices that condemned him and the choices he strives to make which will not absolve him, but help him find some measure of peace. Like Maria, James shows us what we want to see in him. He is trying to delude himself, but unlike Maria, at the very end, he wants to know the truth. And that's what makes him transcend Maria.
This moment in the game… God, man. Just sitting there, listening to the full letter, watching James and Laura disappearing into the fog as silence falls over the cemetery, recalling your harrowing journey and realizing that’s it’s finally over.
This track reminds me so much of "God moving over the face of the waters by Moby". That quiet tranquility that engulfs you while listening to both of these tracks are blissful.....
this is like waking up completely recovered from a fatal disease. bright sunny day outside. something beyond acted. until the dusk of time, it will stay an inviolate secret, but you have your truth back. the blue sky, the inner. breathe
I just realized that Sewerslvt sampled this for hopelessness. I'll never forget how she described that piece to me, everything she was feeling at the time. back before she deleted a bunch of her community posts on her youtube channel. she probably won't see this, but if you do. Thank you.
i literally just found this out because someone used this song in another video and i was like "hey that sounds familiar", so i asked them what song it was, and it was this compared this to hopelessness and it was unmistakable. goddamn never played sh2 (will fix that eventually) and i haven't been listening to jvne's music for very long but man this song is a seriously good sample to use for a song titled hopelessness. kind of ironic too given the title of this song

I listened to this whole complete soundtrack & i knew this song was coming. Makes me choke up even after all these years. That conversation between James & Mary is really really sad
Listening to this takes my anxiety and depression away.
When I first played this, all the way back in 2003. I knew nothing about depression or loss. Cut to 2023 having gone through a major phase of depression, this now hits like a train.
Depression's been with me for most of my life, due to family issues and poor living conditions. This game and its soundtracks always hit like a fighter jet for me
1:34 nearly made me tear up on my most recent playthrough.
Same dude the more you play this game the stronger it gets
This music simultaneously makes me feel like there must be a heaven and like there cannot possibly be one.
I dont get it I'm very slow
Brilliant take
The perfect music to play as you look outside your bedroom window during quarantine with a hot cup of coffee in your hands.... ❤
God when this song played, I knew my heart was going to break and by God it did (got In Water ending first playthrough. It broke me)
Man I can’t imagine how your play through must’ve went since you got the In water ending.
I finished this game for the first time yesterday as well. Luckily I got the "Leave" ending so it ended on a positive note for me.
@gimpscam9976 can tell you right now I sobbed when the credits rolled lol
It baffles me that they replaced this track in the remake
This moment in the game… God, man. Just sitting there, listening to the full letter, watching James and Laura disappearing into the fog as silence falls over the cemetery, recalling your harrowing journey and realizing that’s it’s finally over.
This is the first game to make me cry.
This track reminds me so much of "God moving over the face of the waters by Moby". That quiet tranquility that engulfs you while listening to both of these tracks are blissful.....
this is like waking up completely recovered from a fatal disease. bright sunny day outside. something beyond acted. until the dusk of time, it will stay an inviolate secret, but you have your truth back. the blue sky, the inner. breathe
My favourite track of all time. Perfect masterpiece.
It reminds me of the movie The Mist
i heard this in a playlist and sewerslvt appeared in front of my eyes
just faded into existence and i came here
I just realized that Sewerslvt sampled this for hopelessness. I'll never forget how she described that piece to me, everything she was feeling at the time. back before she deleted a bunch of her community posts on her youtube channel. she probably won't see this, but if you do. Thank you.
I will miss her a lot
i miss her too
I miss her presence, her music got me thru some of the hardest years of my life
i literally just found this out because someone used this song in another video and i was like "hey that sounds familiar", so i asked them what song it was, and it was this
compared this to hopelessness and it was unmistakable. goddamn
never played sh2 (will fix that eventually) and i haven't been listening to jvne's music for very long but man this song is a seriously good sample to use for a song titled hopelessness. kind of ironic too given the title of this song
@@epsilon1572 same bro was it casually from the lol superman search vid?
I can't help but cry whenever I listen to this
1:31 this part hits so hard like a kick in the nuts, cha-chomp!
one of the top 3 Silent Hill tracks ever made imo.
It’s like to pulse of the universe ... serene and divine 😌
Im literally James Sunderland
I told you I wanted to die James. I wanted the pain to end.
That's why I did it honey, I just couldn't watch you suffer!
No, that's not true. You also said you didn't want to die.
The truth is I hated you! I wanted you out of my way! I wanted my life back!
James... if that were true, then why do you look so sad?
Mary…
4m dbest track from sh ... after 10 years when ive played it, still best horror game
I feel your words friend
This song always makes me want to cry
this track is not in the remake, i wanna die
Bad news bro :(
It is btw
Just not in official soundtrack. Just a reminder this soundtrack is ost not official soundtrack
@@kal-el8402 where did it play in the remake? I didn't hear it.
@@ChazaChang end of the game. I heard in Leave ending. In water ending didn't heard it because every ending have diffirent song now.
@@kal-el8402damn Imma have to go back to hear it
they cut this from the remake, sadge
I was really hoping this track and Blank Fairy would be in the remake
Blank Fairy is still in the remake, playing in the beginning segment of the Otherworld hotel.
Haven't played the remake, but that INSTANTLY makes it inferior to me
@@troywright359 the best parts of the remake are the voice-acting, combat and sound design. from what i've seen, a majority of the dark ambient/industrial tracks from SH2 were cut in favor of Akira making something new.
0:00 - peace
1:32 - serenity
I prefer the Piece part
Its amazing how Akira captured what the last breaths of life would sound like.
"That's not the whole truth honey...."
hopelessness 💜
*Hopefulness
i don't think i'll ever get over this game
Put this on Spotify. Please
I'm so excited the remake of Silent Hill 2 comes this year on PS5 and PC! 😃
Beautiful Music
Aaay la parte en la que Mary le da la carta a James y la lee me hizo llorar una banda 😭. Grandioso juego, lo amé ❤
i feel like this is the song that plays in the last moments when you lay your head to rest...
James, you made me happy.🥺
So addictive
Not gonna lie, i really cried in this scene. Man, i fucking love this game!
Happy 20th anniversary SH2.
This track makes me cry so bad :'(
I'm a Resident Evil fanboy(Hence why I'm here because the music is similar) but I'm slowly getting into the Silent Hill games.
"Go on with your life, James."
James Charles
only played the first Silent Hill ♡ but damn those Soundtracks bro
This track always makes me cry....
why my brain can't make me happy
This track is often used in breakcore songs, I didn't know it came from silent hill. It's so angelic.
Mr. Krabs body slamming a baby
thanks
Hard to believe two chords can be so moving.
