    Stunning car ...so reliable ....way better than any unreliable German cars ...

    • @S01-k9z
      @S01-k9z ปีที่แล้ว

      German cars are not unreliable, it’s a urban myth , I run a chauffeur company in the uk , I drive upto 50.000 miles a year , and in the last 10 years I’ve used BMWs 5 series and now I’m in a Audi A4 tdi , I get 185.000 miles out of them problem free except regular servicing, my bmw 520 only had a alternator go at 185.000 miles . We have merc E classes on over 300.000 miles and passats on over 200.000, they are reliable otherwise we wouldn’t use them . The high end v8 m cars etc may be unreliable, but what high reving v8 isn’t unreliable

      My opinion on German unreliability is based on my own experience, so definitely not a myth.

    Appreciate the review. The car is beautiful. As for the trackpad, no ADULT who owns an LC 500 uses the trackpad very much. It's mainly there to set up the software. ADULTS read the OWNER'S MANUAL and learn about VOICE COMMAND. Then, the first thing they do is run MENU/SETUP and select all their default personal preferences which takes care of 95% of EVERYTHING. Using VOICE COMMAND, they simply press a button on the left side of the steering wheel, wait for the BEEP and then TELL THE CAR WHAT YOU WANT TO DO. No trackpad involved! For instance: "press button, say "radio", say "AM 760" and the radio goes to that station. Or, press button, "say FIND, say PIZZAHUT and you get several choices, say the CHOICE NUMBER" and your GPS will guide you there. In the rare event where VOICE COMMAND won't do everything, such as warm the seats, you simply press the button and say "SHOW SEAT HEATER SCREEN" and you're right there to simply slide your fingers up or down a bit. So, maybe in the future this reviewer will take 30 minutes and become familiar with the Owner's Manual so he doesn't relay false information to his audience? These are the best cars produced today but...isn't it nice to have a choice???

    Trust me, speaking as an owner of the self same car (except for the colour), you will find any excuse to take it for a drive. God knows how many people have stretched their necks trying to figure out what it is, but they always approve. Forget your silly pops and crackles/silly fast cars, this is the one that looks the muts nuts.

      How's your experience with this tiny boot? Somehow I can't see this fitting two people's weekend luggage

    • @dontuno
      @dontuno 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@KB-xo1zg Trust me absolutely no problem whatsoever. The boot may be tiny but it is plenty big enough to take all the luggage you would need not only for a weekend but a week or more. If you were to run out of space then there is always the rear seats which would provide space for months of luggage, especially given it is highly unlikely anybody would wish to occupy them unless they were very tiny people. Having said that we met up with a friend of ours on a weekend away and she willingly occupied the rear seat(s). However, she did comfortably meet the necessary size criteria given they are about 5 foot nothing!

    Always enjoy your reviews Mark. Have to say I'm very very jealous that you got to drive one of these, I haven't even seen one in the metal! Such a shame we don't even get the option of the phenomenal naturally aspirated V8 in Ireland, absolutely amazing sound from it! If I ever won the Lotto I would have my order in for one of these in top spec Sport+ before collecting the cheque!! At almost €150,00 for the top spec, I will have to keep on dreaming!

    Agreed, very good car indeed. I would love to see something similar to that but stretched a bit and with two more doors plus extra space on the rear, something like vw arteon or Audi A7 , that’s gona be a killer hybrid.

    I'm obsessed with this car, ever since it debuted in the marvel films. I would love the V8 model but in the uk, it's just not a sensible option for most of us. This hybrid model like you said wil be quick enough for most people and that's why I think the H model is the one to get (in this country anyway.)
    Is get the V8 If petrol costs weren't so high.

    What does a real adult do when they get a brand new, very complex automobile? A real adult! They read the Owner's Manual and learn all about the car and especially the software/infotainment. A real adult doesn't assume they can intuitively figure out something this complex any more than a pilot who has been flying a single prop Cessna 172 does when he buys a Learjet 60. Had you done "the adult thing",you would have known that obviously the brilliant designers and engineers at Lexus didn't want YOU to have to screw around with the touch pad any more than necessary. What you would have done was to go to MENU/SETUP and taken the time to select all your personal preferences such as doors, lights, radio/presets, bluetooth, gps, climate etc. The next thing would have been to LEARN VOICE COMMAND. Once all your prefs are input, you simply talk to the car. You press the TALK BUTTON on the left side of the steering wheel, wait for the beep and they YOU tell the car what you want it to do. Want Sirius XM? Say...Button, beep, radio, Sirius XM, and then your station number. No touch pad, Jen. Want to find a Pizza Hut? Talk to the car. Want to turn on the AC? Talk to the car. Want to text a client? Talk to the car. However, there are some instances where you do have to use the touch pad. VOICE will get you close to where you need to be but then, like you do when you use the turn signal or the wipers, you do have to use your hand and take your eyes off the road for an instant. It does happen but even if the car had a TOUCH SCREEN, you'd still have to take your eyes off the road. A TOUCH SCREEN also gets oily, greasy and messy looking...and sometimes even scratched. That won't happen with the LC. The people who have "hissy-fits" don't ever read the Owner's Manual. When I got my 2018, almost four years ago, I did read the Owner's Manual. These days, just when I think the car won't do what I want, I find out it's me doing something wrong and not the car. The LC 500 is unquestionably the finest car on the market today. It does everything it was designed to do very well and it won't ever leave you stranded by the side of the road as do all other cars...especially German cars. You might want to apologize to Lexus and then do another review after doing your homework. That would be the adult thing to do. As for some of your other comments, they too are flawed. Low profile tires and suspension stiff enough for good handling is the main problem. You have about 2" of sidewall on your tires and that isn't much air cushion. Cars with an even lower profile are much worse. I went with the 20" because I'm smart enough to know the inherent problems of the 21" wheels when you live in the Bay Area which has more pot holes than smooth road. And, since I don't race around like a moron, the 20" have been great and I think they look better to boot. So, remember...the stiffer the suspension and the lower profile the tires equal more bouncing around on rough roads but better handling on smooth roads around curves. Yes, Jen...you can't have everything. On a personal note, I've always thought if you're going to do a job, do it the best you can. When Lexus, or any other car company is nice enough to loan you a car for evaluation, read the Owner's Manual and learn about the car so you can give an informed opinion. Your criticism of the infotainment system wasn't fair or honest and you did a disservice to Lexus. That's not playing fair. I'm a big fan of people WHO DO PLAY FAIR so hopefully next time I will be able to give you a great review for being a great reviewer!

    IMO, the 500h sounds awful under hard acceleration and is incongruous with the rest of the car, so for me it would be the 500 V8 or I'd buy another car altogether. And I will note that usually I prefer the sound of a six. IMO, this drivetrain may well be acceptable in the LS 500h, but not in this car. Even if you are primarily interested in the LC for its looks and all you want to do is cruise around and feel special, I still think you should go for the V8 or look elsewhere. IMO, there are diesels that sound better.
