- Sen. Bob Menendez has been found guilty on all charges in his federal corruption trial, including bribery, extortion, wire fraud, obstruction of justice and acting as a foreign agent for Egypt. Menendez is maintaining his innocence and has vowed to appeal the verdict. CBS News congressional correspondent Nikole Killion, CBS News legal contributor Jessica Levinson and CBS News New York reporter Christine Sloan have more on the case.

Amazing that he’s found guilty but then can just freely walk out the front door of the courthouse, field press questions, and carry on with his day. Unbelievable.
He still has to go about life with this situation weighing heavy on his heart. I imagine it leaves you with a very suicidal feeling in your chest. Denial is understandable but this man is facing a sentencing and that's very real.
I believe the days of the minor slaps in the wrist are coming to an end.

Look I am a 77-year-old retired man. I realize some people put their entire being in their jobs, BUT I will never believe that any of these politicians that remain in office linger than 30 years and beyond retirement age aren't, ON THE TAKE.

Totally agree! 30 years is way too long, politics was MEVER meant to be a career, only several years as a “public servant” a total joke anymore. They are ALL either career or intending to be career with rare exceptions, which is WHY term limits should have been enacted long ago and never will be. BUT we the voters can change this ourselves by simply doing our homework and voting OUT incumbents before they get too much power, a pretty simple solution to a HUGE problem. Instead we just lazily vote all republican or democrat based on our affiliation, without knowing or caring what their views are on issues of the time. THINK about this instead of acting like you don’t have the ability to think!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No. Treason is a very specific charge related to direct aid or assistance to an enemy against whom war has been declared by congress. It also generally has to be actual material actions or gifts; public sympathy with such an enemy wouldn't be enough for that charge either. The "foreign agent" charge is actually only illegal if you take actions for foreign entities (generally, but not always, being actual states) without first registering that relationship with the government.
