2:40 Standard Space Marine boarding tactic The praying-looking dude was a Psyker, and a member of the Inquisition based on the markings on his outfit. Right after listening in on the spheres' conversation, he tells the Captain something along the lines of "Recall your men immediately!" Unfortunately that brief lapse in concentration is enough to compromise his psychic defenses, and he gets possessed. 11:46 Basic Imperial exorcism method, except that they should have burned the body immediately afterwards. And as rough as it looked, that was probably the best option--a possessed psyker is the start of Very Bad Things.
I know I'm late to the party, but consider each of the soldiers on the enemy ship got 1 round each. 1 round, next target. The Psyker got a powersuit augmented superhuman punch to the face, AND 3 bolter rounds. Possession is, as state, a VERY Bad Thing. There's no such thing as overkill when dealing with a Psyker being possessed.
This is literally the animation that gets people INTO warhammer 40k. Also probably the best fan animation of any fanchise anywhere is terms of quality and accurate representation. You can watch it over and over again and see that every little thing is intentional, from the characters movements, the shot compostition, and the tiny lore details.
Like I noticed that scene in the hallway where the sniper guy is shooting at them through the walls. Look at the second astartes that gets hit, you see him leaning right into the shot with his shoulder and lets the hit put him back on balance so that he can keep chugging without having to stop. The guy after him is the one to stop. The details are insane.
@@stormrevenant Luetin09 is when you have time to listen to dozens and dozens of hour long videos. Bricky is the quick and dirty to get people caught up.
The goal of the game is "kill the other guys and/or sieze territory" The plot is "In the grim darkness of the far future: There is only war" Gritty battling for survival
So, the guy in the red robe and black helmet is an inquisitorial psyker (government agent psychic detective) that is gathering intelligence on the sentient spheres. He overhears their conversation at 10:50 which goes as follows. *S1:* Who is here? *S2:* I have failed. *S1:* Brother, we have all failed. The Astartes deny our touch. We must return return. Break your shield! *S2:* Brother, we will never survive! *S1:* You must take the alpha. The alpha being in reference to the psyker, a powerful pysker - one that they can posses and use to potentially create a portal from. The psyker realizes this is happening and with his last ounce of strength is able to warn the Captain (marine with the cloak), "Recall them immediately!" (you can see the order sent to the 5-man kill squad seconds before the sphere pulled them in, his head cocks to the side as the vox transmission comes in with the warning. Then the Captain did the 100% correct move by obliterating that possed psyker: Warp fuckery is real and terrifying.
The Astartes are so OP because they normally fight enemies much more powerful than ordinary humans. Even the 2 Psykers they defeat here are pretty weak. If that Inquisitor had been possessed by a warp demon you would have seen they aren't invincible. That's why they killed him so quickly.
If you wish to know the answers to all your questions you may want to watch Bricky’s videos explaining every faction. A fair warning though, is 40k fans are so because of this rabbit hole of lore. It’s vast so you need a lot of time to kill to dig deeper, if you choose to join our fandom you will be welcomed with option arms. “For in the grim darkness of the 41st millennium… there is only war”
Genetically re-engineered super soldiers wearing power armor and wielding machine guns that fire miniature explosive missiles are OP by their very nature.
Every kind of powerarmor u can imagine, even the Mjolnir from Halo, is like a piece of cake in comparism to the Powerarmor these guys wear. The plot is highly complicated but in short: "In the grim dark future there is only war." About the space marines themselfe, those are enginered supersoldiers. Much taller then a average human (U saw the difference in the beginning as the squad was walking by), with multiple enchanced organs, a second heart and stuff like that. Stronger, tougher more intelligent etc. In the end u see him puking, that is blood but the stockign started already seconds later what would take time on y normal human. Space Marines are basicly a unstoppable force, if a kill team like that enters your ship u re most likely fucked. The armor is a massive chunk of technology and what u saw when the helm cracked are a multiple set of cameras that give stuff like thermal and nightvision to the marine. The armor is assisting them with, you could call it a aimbot to assist their weapons. A rebreather and its boosting their reflexes and strength too. The guys using the force are psykers, u could call them space wizards. The force froms tar wars looks kinda tame compared to what a mighty psyker could do, they can shred entire solar systems depending on the individual person. These 2 where kidna weak ones but can wreck easily wreck havoc. They use their mind to tap into the powers of hell u could imagine, the warp is where this "force" comes from, u can imagine it as an other dimension where demons and demon gods exist (Chaos Gods to be exact.) A Psyker takes it fromt here and the downside u see with the guy in the marines ship as he overhears the conversation of the two orbs. He is a moment distracted warning the captain and one orb overtakes him. The rutheless take down is absolutly nessecary, the ob could do so many terrible thing. Destroying the ship, the entire solar system or even worse open basicly the gates to hell to start a massive demon invasion (Doom would look like shit compared to what happens then.). Just a little glimps of Warhammer 40k, i recomend to watch bricky faction explained videos if u re interested in more.
There is no plot, there is war, and these godlike men are only saviours of mankind that truly defend humanity from alien threats and cosmic horrors beyond imagine. And this tiny story is nothing but little shenanigans happening around compared to this vast world full of conflicts and stories way bigger than this.
the lack of dialogue on this video. i always attributed it to they are speaking directly helmet to helmet via radio. We just don't hear them because we don't need to.
Welcome to Warhammer 40K! For a basic understanding of "why are they so OP", consider that this is inspired by a tabletop wargame played with *armies* of miniatures. You buy your minis for the army with points (you'll see like 2000 point battles, etc) and the more powerful they are the more points they cost to field. You're seeing a unit that would have a high point cost going up against a lot of cannon fodder in environments where the entire "army" of the Renegade ship can't be fielded at once.
The Adeptus Astartes are not robots... a better term would be bionically/cybernetically enhanced transhumans. They are Space Marines, sometimes mistakenly called by one Chapter's name of Ultra Marines. IIRC correctly, the ratio of Astra Millitarum (the Imperial Army, basically regular humans with laser rifles) to Space Marine is something in the range of 250 to 500 million:1. There are multiple Legions, and within those Legions are multiple Chapters. The Adeptus Astartes are all fanatically loyal to the God-Emperor of Man, as it is his power and blessing that allows them to become transhumans in the first place. They are most often recruited from worlds where a Fortress-Monastery is located, and they have been devout in their studies and training. The Chapter in the video are Retributors, which were created by the guy that made this (yes, one single guy made this) but became canon when Games Workshop adopted the film as canon. Adeptus Astartes are also not immortal, as they can be killed by very powerful enemies, races, or be corrupted by Chaos (and some become Chaos Marines). Against a regular human, however, one Astartes can wipe out an entire division sized force before breakfast with one hand. Some extraordinary Astartes have held off the equivalent of about half a planet worth of enemies on their own, but that is extremely rare. More often than not, if a Space Marine makes an appearance on the battlefield anywhere in the 40K universe, shit has hit the fan and it just got very real, very quick.
Astartes are canonical considered demigods compared to a normal human. Also the fun part about the psychic powers of this universe basically require u to manipulate the power from hell to use it.
He: "They definitely not are normal humans..." Me: "Yeah. They are bioengineered monsters, created to kill even deadly monsters. They're defenders of Mankind, they're Spacemarines... They're His Angels of Death!"
“What’s the plot of this game,” that is a very hard question to answer. 😂 Warhammer 40K is about the stories of the different empires, daemonic forces, monsters of deep space and much more in a time of unending war across the milky way galaxy - as the quote goes, “in the grim dark future of the 41st millennium, there is only war. There is no peace amongst the stars, only an eternity of carnage, slaughter and the laughter of thirsting gods.” If you’re into dark sci-fi/fantasy that’s really badass I would fully recommend looking at more Warhammer 40K stuff. Leutin 09 is a great person to look at if you want accurate lore, Bricky if you want it to be a bit more easily digestible with jokes and memes, Major Kill if you want a mix of both. Should watch lore videos to figure out more about the warhammer 40k universe. I really like luetin09. Weshammer is pretty good. Baldermort is awesome. A Vox in the void has amazing short stories too!
The creator was actually hired by the company and he took the videos down, cause now they are part of the Warhammer+ service. So its not really that they pushed a random person. He is employee now.
The space marines are ‘OP’ because, everything else in the universe is even more ‘OP.’ The universe is bigger, more vast, in depth, etc. than any other.. including Star Wars, LOTD, etc.
Think out of the box man, these red lenses in his eyes are just sensors and cameras inside their helmets, nods and shit. But you are really good man, I liked very much your reaction, you remarked a lot of things that others don't, the pace and no words policy for instance.
The are genetically enhance super soldiers there taller than the average person there reflexes are better cognitively they process info faster..they have 3 lungs 2 hearts etc.. they have no fear of anything they are space marines…to get an overview of the world you should look at bricky video about all the faction or lutetin09 to get some overviews…
I'd highly recommend the fan animations of SODAZ. Great action, choreography and elements from the setting. He also had to delete his stuff but if you search Sodaz warhammer 40k you should find reuploads
How ridiculous is Warhammer 40K? (in a positive way) Imagine: An Orktribe was building a big, nice gun, but forgott to install half of the fiering mechanism. Question: Can Humans shoot that Gun? NO... how i said... half of the fiering mechanism is missing so wont do shit that thing. Question 2: Can Orks shoot that Gun? OF CAUSE THEY CAN!
Their is no voice because helmet have comms . this is a fan. the marines shown are a fanmade chapter (space marines are divided in chapters)and their opposition too are fan made but a charm of 40k is that its so big any thing can be interested in it and wouldn t be nonsense that is not to say the representation is not on point the guns the normal people have (the one who's bigger version fired red plasma on a marine)is a laz gun a weapon that never misfire or gets stuck blows off limes makes hole in solid wall and is the weakest weapon in 40k. the one the marines use is a mini rocket launcher that fires with such force that if a normal man fires it he will lose his arms called the bolter and it power has finally been done justice
tbh warhammer is more of a universe instead of a single linear story. Sure u have the current story (atm Arcs of Omen) but its a bunch of stories from the Horus heresy which is 30k to now and beyond with chaos and all the xenos.
Technically, everybody does. In fact, I’d argue- that space marines have the least amount of plot armor in the 40k universe (given the fact that their genetically enhanced Demi-gods, with near indestructible power armor)
Astartes or Space Marines are genetically and surgically altered, augmented and conditioned to be perfect killing machines. Their armor is grafted to their bodies and is some of the most advanced technology that still exists within the Imperium. They are regarded as semi-angelic beings by the normal humans of the Imperium.

i recommend bricks every warhammer faction explained vid for lore and memes

8:00 Genetically engineered humans, like iron man and cap combined, but taller and stronger. The others were humans they devastated. Psychers
it is a whole universe
Should watch lore videos to figure out more about the warhammer 40k universe. I really like luetin09. Weshammer is pretty good. Baldermort is awesome. A Vox in the void has amazing short stories too!
They hired him.
You know what's great about Astartes?
You say "Why are these dude's so OP!?" but they drop like flies around nids and some orcs.
The creator was more or less hired to work for the company that owns the IP. Less scammy and more smart business move.
The creator was actually hired by the company and he took the videos down, cause now they are part of the Warhammer+ service.
So its not really that they pushed a random person. He is employee now.
Ok that make sense!
But you are really good man, I liked very much your reaction, you remarked a lot of things that others don't, the pace and no words policy for instance.
i gues the Marines use Vox/Com, but the helmets are sealed. No sound comes out. They have speakers, but why should they use it when they can use com?
Watch Death Korps Of Krieg made by Sodaz
The are genetically enhance super soldiers there taller than the average person there reflexes are better cognitively they process info faster..they have 3 lungs 2 hearts etc.. they have no fear of anything they are space marines…to get an overview of the world you should look at bricky video about all the faction or lutetin09 to get some overviews…
4:57 Should we tell him about the Cestodes?
" I wonder what the goal of the game even is "
Answer : Take a side. See the others ? good. KILL THEM ALL
I'd highly recommend the fan animations of SODAZ.
Great action, choreography and elements from the setting.
He also had to delete his stuff but if you search Sodaz warhammer 40k you should find reuploads
How ridiculous is Warhammer 40K? (in a positive way)
Imagine: An Orktribe was building a big, nice gun, but forgott to install half of the fiering mechanism.
Question: Can Humans shoot that Gun?
NO... how i said... half of the fiering mechanism is missing so wont do shit that thing.
Question 2: Can Orks shoot that Gun?
OF CAUSE THEY CAN!
Their is no voice because helmet have comms .
this is a fan. the marines shown are a fanmade chapter (space marines are divided in chapters)and their opposition too are fan made but a charm of 40k is that its so big any thing can be interested in it and wouldn t be nonsense that is not to say the representation is not on point
the guns the normal people have (the one who's bigger version fired red plasma on a marine)is a laz gun a weapon that never misfire or gets stuck blows off limes makes hole in solid wall and is the weakest weapon in 40k.
the one the marines use is a mini rocket launcher that fires with such force that if a normal man fires it he will lose his arms called the bolter and it power has finally been done justice
There was a small part you missed. At the end of part 5. Past the black screen.
tbh warhammer is more of a universe instead of a single linear story. Sure u have the current story (atm Arcs of Omen) but its a bunch of stories from the Horus heresy which is 30k to now and beyond with chaos and all the xenos.
why are they op? because they have to be.
See the last church buy pizza cokes and invite some homeys. And record there reaction know that is great t.v.
The main plot of 40k is everything sucks, there is only war and there are no "good guys"
You missed the ending!
Not completely invincible
These guys have plot armor
Technically, everybody does. In fact, I’d argue- that space marines have the least amount of plot armor in the 40k universe (given the fact that their genetically enhanced Demi-gods, with near indestructible power armor)
By "these guys" I was referring to these specific characters in this animated short
Props to the one guy explaining the plot of 40k
