So TRUE, Philippines is not for everyone. If you are the type of person who values more the MATERIALISTIC AFFLUENCE in life then definitely this country is not for you.
It was a pleasure speaking with Paul about his experiences in the Philippines as well as his love for karaoke! I wish you all the best Paul! Great interview.. Papa is a rolling stone lol. Near the end when he says "one is not enough.." (plural for GF's) it simply means Pops is a player. Nothing wrong with that.

Great interview. we can feel how passionate he is about Karaoke, and he has a positive attitude. He could definitely retire in the Philippines and take the most of it.

he is right,, for foreigners who are used to being comfortable in their country and are not used to endure anything and are picky about food and don't like traffic, under develop infrastructure, medical care, the Philippines is not for you..if your purpose is just to see the beautiful beaches and scenery and so on.. you can visit here, if you are an expat with an illness and are picky about food and want good infrastructure. vietnam and thailand or malaysia are right for you
the typical mode of transpo in Dumaguete is literally a motorcycle its kinda busy somtimes to look at roads with a lot of it. you cant say its not for everyone, its been that way for decades. try visit other provinces that you can say its for you that you cannot see overcrowded busy scooters around.
You are right. Rough place for rough western men. Loosely translated, only 5% of western men are rough and would love making the same choice of places to be.
So want to go live in a foreign country for a simple life but do not want to integrate with the local culture and rather live with western ways make it make sense wouldn't you be better off back in you're country the hypocrisy just saying.
