EVERYTHING was going great.... Until you replaced those wheels... A GOOD wheel clean - bringing the wheels up to the same (if not very close to the finish of the new centres you bought) - would have served to make the whole project a damn fine job... Also, this video just made me miss my old E30 325i SE even more 😕
Yeah I agree. The BBS wheels were fine, maybe needed some polishing. Also the bumper to Rustoleum gloss black was bad. I probably would have done matte and then matte clear. Gloss black from a can on plastic tends to look pretty bad.
And old car is just an old car … until you refresh the paint and trim. Then people start to realize how beautiful these really are compared to “modern” cars. 😎
U could paint the carpet black like in other videos to give a more gorgeous finish to the interior and revest the steering wheel with some sort of alcantara-like fabric. It would totally changes the appearence of this car. And of course a set of sport lowered springs would be the last thing to perfection. Besides of that, amazing car, and amazing restoration! Keep it up! Love your videos
@@Daniel-mw7pu for a paint job that’s not pricey and that’s just for sanding off the paint of the panels where the dents are to fix the dents and repainting those surfaces they can be a lot more depending where you go or if you do it yourself
They didn't even remove the door handles to paint it. You can see in the after-paint close up of the door handle where the masking tape has lifted the paint edge when they pulled it off. This was made for video not for quality. They didn't even shampoo the floor carpet, just covered it. And we didn't see anything of the underside or engine work. This isn't a restoration it's a make over on the surface only.
I am literally watching all your videos as i possibly can, it's just so addictive, specially knowing that, small details can truly make a difference. I'm so confident that your channel will continue growing and hope you never change your approach towards your supporters. Keep inspiring people, just like me to do this kinda of things on their cars to rejuvenate them. Great job, keep it up!
The wheels suit the car but the arch gap, it needs addressing :D I love the old BMs, don't get to see many on the roads now so it's nice to see one saved. Nice work !
You blew it! Messed the project up completely when you swapped the wheels! Great job though! I had a BMW 323i many years ago! Dangerous model to drive when breaking as it tended to swing round! Engine weight pushed down on front and made the back end too light! A known fault with them. Greetings from Thailand.
Nice Beemer! I bought a 1969 318i many years ago... It was the last year they the 2 liter 4 speed, if I remember correctly, mine had it anyway. It was a little hot rod... That is until I rolled it off a mountain side just minutes from my home while living in Haywood County NC... That's my story and I'm sticking to it 😃
Well done on the car, but one thing I would change about the video is the amount of edits you have, when you were talking about the after market parts it cuz off at the end and the music is cut too
Very clean resto! Really came together at the end! I have an e30 and have a similar spoiler - do you happen to know if its a legit e30 spoiler, or if it's a faux replica or from another BMW? Mine was installed by the previous owner, and it certainly doesnt fit right haha.
Meeeeeeen! Absolutely beautiful E30. You make really good job! But please these wheels bfff, in my opinion try to fit them classic style. For me better. But it is your own car you can make the decision xd
Nice job. Looking to restore my E30 325is 1989 5sp and I saw that you bought a cover for the cracked dashboard. Can you tell me where to buy one. Thanks !
Love your videos. I have a 1987 Toyota Tercel dx lol I can’t find any mods for it. Like body kits or coil overs. Any idea where I can find some parts. I would really appreciate your help
Solid work, looks great. I’m debating on a E30 myself. Older couple in my town have a ‘88 bmw 325i they bought new from the dealer. 86k miles. Has been sitting in their garage 5+ years since the wife stopped driving. Auto trans, Pearl white, bone stock. They’re asking $3k. Would be my first bmw. Worth it?
I just bought a 2007 vw jetta 2.5 and it needs some work for it to run, money is tight right now and I would appreciate you helping me out to be able to have my car on the road.since I just started school for my CDL and its a 40 minute drive from my house and its kinda hard to get there now I'm from CT BTW. Keep up the good work 👏
You reminded me of an old coworker I used to have when I worked at a Toyota Honda parts department. He had bought a Jetta around the same year as yours since he like that style and put some wheels and sound system in it. Eventually he ended getting rid of it because realize just how much more expensive replacement parts were for it compared to Honda and Toyota parts. I recommend you doing the same and getting a nice reliable Japanese car that is more affordable to maintain when you are on a tight budget.
@@evoman44 yeah I thought the same thing but I ended up buying all the parts and now I'm just trying to find a mechanic. Not worrying to much because I'm finishing school on March so after that hopefully I'll be able to afford the danm euro life ,but definitely I should of stayed on my category since it easier to work on toyota and honda I used to do a lot of the things myself but this euro thing is crazy lol🤦♂️yeah I had to pull more hrs at work but she's going to be in the road soon 🙃 so hopefully after I do the maintenance and hopefully nothing crazy happens
@@Badgersbuild I see. If you can't find a euro mechanic I would recommend searching TH-cam for maintenance videos for your cars generation. It's a good way to see if it's a job you would be able to do with the tools and area you got to work with.
I gave my bartenders old man this exact same car as a gift the day he got out of prison thinking it would better his life. He fixed it up really nice and used it to get a job within 2 weeks. 2 months later cop's from 3 separate jurisdictions came banging on my door about finding it abandoned with a meth lab in the trunk. Thankfully my wife at the time worked in the Los Angeles cop shop. Still was the biggest headache I ever I had to deal with.
When he painted the bumpers black I died inside. The IS sport seats that came with the car are worth money even it’s the condition they were in aslong as the foam was still intact.

on god bro, if car companies just remade old cars they’d be beautiful but it’d kinda ruin it

Was expecting to see those BMW center caps put in😅
Thought it was me 😂😂 Great resurrection but should’ve left stock wheels on or some BBS 🔥🔥

Man, for a budget restore that looks really good. People knock Maaco but you just have to find a good Maaco shop.
Thanks! And yeah exactly. Wasn't the best but for the price i wasn't mad

I think we heard about the E36 from him 😂 small world.
its quite inspiring how simple these are, but they change the look sooooo much
