If you don’t know you’re getting abused by your partner after getting hit or verbally abused, then you should just ride along that abuse and do what you will. As a young lady this is soooo triggering to watch😢. My parents basically threw me into the arms of my abusive boyfriend when I was 18years old. I mean it was awful, we all had a misunderstanding but my parents took it too far and when my mom tried to get me to come home I didn’t feel like it was safe because I suffered so much emotional abuse growing up in that house only learning how to hate and torture myself, so it led me to look for love in all the wrong places.
I was always a daddy’s girl but my dad didn’t show up for me emotionally like I needed him to when I started dating the guy who eventually became my sons dad.
I was with him for 3 years and the first few months it was okay but then 1 night I told him how he did something that wasn’t appropriate to my feeling and he kept doing it and from that moment the hitting got worse as well as sexual abuse.
I remember 1 time I had to go to school with a busted lip because I had finally put my foot down and said I wanted to leave him and I told him I was serious… Next thing I know he punched me in my mouth and I had to go to the hospital because it was so bad.
He even gave mea bloody nose and was abusive while I was pregnant. It wasn’t until the last time he hit me after o had my son and my baby was lying down next to me and I promised myself I had to ESCAPE and not just leave like I tried to before.
It’s been 7 years that I e left him and I’m still overcoming the struggles of raising my son on my own but this little boy was the courage that got me out of that bad relationship.
Sorry to post half of my life story but I know this a show but it really hit home for me. I wish I could say I would go back and do things differently but I can’t because my son keeps me sane.
Me and my father did fix our relationship and I actually took care of him until he passed away in 2017 and my brother😖 just died in June of last year. Hod knows my heart is soooo heavy from carrying all this pain.
My brother and I were adopted together so we were close until he got older and moved out the house. I begged him for us to spend time together but he always gave me excuses.
I would talk to him on the phone most times when we were in contact and I would even talk to his girl too like just trying to get him to come see me and actually bond.
January of 2021 my brother was telling me he wanted to leave this girl that she was controlling everywhere he went and was possessive and trust me my brother NEVER talked to me about any of his relationships in our entire lives.
I got a call June 13 of 2021 and it was his gf saying my brother shot himself in the stomach, 😢 the last time I saw my brother was on his death bed in the same hospital where our dad had died at years before.
As much as I wanted to believe my brother did it himself because he kept telling the doctor he shot himself. His girlfriend asked the doctor in front of all of us, if the gun would show residue?!
I went to her house to try and get some of my brothers belongings, all she wanted to give me was his shoes, but I was able to get a 45 minute recording of her actually telling us what happened.
She put the gun that my brother was shot with, in the glove compartment…. If that wasn’t suspicious enough. My brothers best friend drove all the way to the girl and took her to the hospital. So why put the gun in a car and take a completely different car, because the police didn’t not investigate long enough cause she was at the hospital with us.
All I’m saying is domestic violence is a topic that I have lived through and I made it out alive but my brother didn’t 😢
Yes I’ve went to the police and played the entire recording for them and they turned me away but I told them I’ll take it as a slap on the wrist cause I know when there’s been foul play.
I just want to be able to share my story and possibly save someone’s life, because before I acted o had to get down on my knees in fetus position and beg god to get me out of that situation and he did🙏🏽

Wow. So sorry for everything you've been through sis. And so sorry for what happened to your brother. Justice will happen, if not now, but in the next life and as long as she's alive, his ex gf will never know peace as long as she lives. It's very sad and unfair what narcissistic/abusive people can end up putting you through and this shows the importance of parents making sure they create a safe space for their children.
But well done for gathering the strength to make it out in time. It shows how powerful and amazing you are, unfortunately not everyone gets out in time. God bless you and your son. I hope you have started your journey to healing, I'd really recommend therapy or counselling because you've been through a lot of trauma.
But you will heal and can't erase the past, but with time those wounds will heal and you'll find yourself experiencing so much peace and happiness, you will start to feel like a different person and the beautiful thing is you'll be a living testament, a beacon of hope even to others who were in your situation. May God bless you and your son with healing, favour and peace 🙏🏾❤️✨.

But you also don't get to come running back with the sad face when everyone around you told you. You're still family but what exactly are you, as a parent, supposed to do after an adult entered willingly into an abusive relationship? You've already assaulted the abuser. This has done nothing. You've already told her she's making a poor decision. This has done nothing. You tried to physically prevent her. This has done nothing. Sometimes you just have to let people fall. Regardless if you don't know what a great relationship looks like you know you don't want to be smacked around. That's a basic human right. A child understands this. This has nothing to do with being an extension of the parent it's about trying to help your child to understand that you need to have enough self worth that basic human dignity in any relationship is the bare minimum.

Considering the fact that her whole family was messed up in more ways than one, i don't blame Zora for leaving with Iseah. You can't blame her for choosing him over her family, even though part of her knows he's no better than them. I mean, if it were me, i would've left too. Usually, narcissists are the ones to turn their victims against their families, but not in this situation. Isaiah didn't have to say or do anything to turn Zora against her family, they did that on their own. And that's why Zora left with him. And that was why he never broke up with her. Because she came from a broken family. And kids of broken, dysfunctional families are easy targets for people like Isaiah because they're broken too. And people who are broken are easy to control, dominate and manipulate. I appreciate that her family was trying to help her and convince her not to go with Isaiah, but it's impossible to do that with your kids when you and the rest of the family is no better than the narcissist. With the family messed up like it is, they are lucky Zora didn't get caught up in a gang, prostitution or a drug ring like so many other kids of broken families.

I acknowledge…that some kids are HARD HEADED. And they won’t learn till life teaches them. I’ll give them every opportunity to succeed in life but it’s ultimately their choice if they wanna take it or they wanna throw it away for bottom of the bin dumpsrer trash.😊
