    Abramovich reportedly invested £1.5 billion in the club. The club has been valued at £2.4 billion. Daniel Levy has valued Tottenham at £3.5 billion. Worst case scenario is that Abramovich sells for a nice profit. Chelsea is now a global brand, with two Champions League victories. It must be worth more than Spurs. The Chelsea management team could probably buy the club, there are advisors in the City who could arrange.

      Spurs are naturally a far bigger club than Chelsea. Chelsea are basically kept afloat by a dodgy Russian Gangster. They currently owe him £1.7 billion which he has put down as an interest free loan. They`ve racked up all these debts despite being one of the most successful clubs in world football over the past 15 - 20 years. Spurs as a business model has far more potential than Chelsea. Chelsea have never been a big club, just a successful one. If they were run on a self sustaining model (like Spurs or Arsenal), it wouldn`t take many years before the success dried up and Spurs would dwarf them. Historically, Chelsea are no bigger than West Ham. Arsenal were always considered the biggest club in London and Spurs were easily the 2nd biggest.

    • @joshbrown2217
      @joshbrown2217 2 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      There is a lot of socio-political background that shouldn't be looked at from a purely democratic western society, but to put it basically.
      When there was a massive political vacuum in Russia with the collapse of the USSR and setting up of a democracy in Europe, there was a lot of different people vying for power and Abramovic helped Putin come to power, whether it was by introducing him to various political figures or by funding.
      How much he played a part in this is debated, but he certainly helped.
      Now the issue people have is how close Putin and Abramovic are now, it is reported that they started growing apart. I certainly don't believe he is apart of Putin's inner circle and I think the fact that he was one of the only Oligarch's to respond to Ukraine's plea to help them broker peace with Russia sort of shows this.
      So although he helped Putin get into power, there is no clear definition as to how much Roman supports or opposes Putin and this plays against him. This is unfortunate as Putin runs Russia as an authorative state and as Roman has his assets split amongst Russia and the UK, he can't really afford to clarify his stance. (which just shows that hindsight can be a bitch at times)
      I hope this helps, although it could be a bit confusing as there is a lot of ambiguous parts to it, which is why nothing has really happened to Abramovic yet, but there still could be.

      Well there's blackmail, bribery, loan fraud, antitrust law violations, funding illegal Zionist settlements, and most importantly he's Putin's son. They literally address each other as father and son (if you knew how to research you would know all of this) and he's Putin's fixer basically. And Putin is one of the world's most evil, murderous dictators so maybe you should learn how to use the internet to inform yourself because this is public knowledge. Don't ask random people on youtube.

      As it stands, I think there's only 5 teams in the PL with UK majorities in ownership. (Spurs, West Ham, Brighton and Burnley are 100% UK owned, with Crystal Palace being UK/US owned).
      Think the first foreign owner was Chelsea in 2003 (can't think of anyone else beforehand). Man Utd were in 2005, Man City in 2008, Liverpool in 2012/13(?) and so on.

      @@srinivas964 I’m sorry, but you were happy to take the money. There were no fan protests about a criminal buying the club, or when Russia invaded Crimea, or over Roman’s bribery admission, or when it was discovered that he was the planet’s single biggest polluting billionaire, or for his donation’s to projects illegally building on occupied land in Palestine. Chelsea fans were happy to take his money throughout all of that. They were happy to be associates of his reputation-laundering and sports-washing as he corrupted the sport. Now the pier-piper is calling, I have no sympathy. No doubt he’ll come out from all of this unscathed anyway, and Chelsea fans will fall back into their ignorant sleep.

If the West was genuinely concerned about the source of the Oligarch's wealth, they had 30+ years to bring them before a court of law. Instead, they looked the other way as their countries benefited from the Oligarch's investments while some were receiving political contributions unashamedely. Moreover, many Westerners like Hunter Biden, Bill Browder, Donald Trump etc benefited from Russia/Ukraine through investments and loans. Why not scrutinize the source of their wealth? Or is it open season on Russian Jews?

      Are you really that naive to think the U.K Gov would do that? They squandered £40 billion on a failed Track and Trace system. Also why punish Chelsea Fc and it's fans, Roman is now selling and it will be sold hopefully to someone who will put as much passion into the club and not try and do a United and use the club as a cash machine. Even better, he is giving any profit made to Ukraine victims.
