I love fishing from the bridges down there I've done it all my life tell I got my 16 foot boot with a 40 outboard tiller like yours so know I'm all over the please go too places I've never even been too and your videos help out so much I can watch them every day of the week almost like going too school lol thanks Steve and keep them coming .
No problem Jose. I forgot how fun the bridge fishing is. You should go back to it every once in a while. I though the kayak made fishing convenient. If you keep your gear basic, bridge fishing is a lot less work than even that.
Thanks Bud, .... Can't tell you how much we enjoy your videos. So much better than watching somebody reeling in fish and you learn nothing at all. Thanks much for the great insight and knowledge you put out there and pay no attention to the knuckleheads with stupid comments, the're just jealous!!!😎
Yea, tonight I just noticed it was a full moon. That pretty much fit in to what you were saying. I generally don't fish the weekends, but possibly might try a night trip on Sunday. I'll see if they are still feeding even though it should be just past the full moon.
Hey I have a house in gieger key by the spot u were fishing at 10:00 thanks for the tip on the tarpon and I saw your video fishing in gieger and I think I've seen you (I live in the blue house on stilts that used to be pink by gieger key marina. Hope I see you
I really like your videos they're very informative and your kayak videos have been a huge help to me because I fish on in Upper Niagara River and Lower River the dumps into Lake Ontario been very
Perfect, dependent on the wind. That was the best month of the year in 2016. Had about three weeks of nice wind. Tarpon are still around. All the flats stuff is still here. Cooler temps make it a bit more comfortable. But still hot compared to other places.
Thanks for watching. If your talking about the channel that leads into the Stock Island Marina, that whole side looks real fishy. I fished it once but didn't get a chance to put a lot of time in. I went in with my kayak. Definitely looks like some big snappers would be in there.
Key West Kayak Fishing Yep that's the one.You use to be able to drive all the way to the end of front st. and it was like a park area there. You could fish right off that wall in the channel. Its gated off now.
do you have a video on how you throw your cast net you make it look easy not like other guys in teeth and over shoulder love your vs i'm from key west actually key haven but always had a boat since I was 8 live in Pensacola now trying to learn to throw net
I love the disappointment when you hook a shark! I laugh every time….we’re coming from Canada in November and would love to hook a shark.Or anything for that matter.thanks for the posts buddy they’re awesome 😎
I'm going to try and get up there. That's a full days trip from Key West. I usually have a afternoon to do these fishing trips so it makes it tough. I'll try though.
I was using a GoPro 4 silver. I get good audio using the touchscreen backing plate. My other camera is the Hero 3 black. Sound is crappy on that one with the case.
Those damn trees Steve!! Like something out of a Charlie Brown special (btw I'm hoping for some Ohio/Missouri footage myself boy do I have some stories).
Every problem I have ends up having to do with some part of the mangrove trees. I did some time in the Kansas City, Kansas/Missouri. Lots of trees under the water there. I caught a lot of those too.
I mean the Ohio/Missouri bridge a little North of you Steve; there is a very deep section there (24" Mangroves the first 20 min. of outgoing)...Cobias cudas and Tarpon also-
The fish police always patrol those two bridges. You ain't kidding about 20+ mangroves in there. Caught a few with the yoyo. A tactic I used was place the bait up against the mangroves then if there's no one else on the bridge walk towards the other side to pull them out more directly. You could also do that while there's other people there but there'll be a lot of ducking heads. lol Some people get frustrated while others are glad fish are being caught.
My husband has been wanting to go fishing for some time now. Every time we've gone in the past we've fished off the main bridges but its so high and we never catch anything. A smaller, more private bridge like this would be so nice. Could you refer me to a few? Maybe mile markers or a certain Key? We'd be coming from Miami and would be fishing in the evening/night hours. I know it's short notice cause we're actually going out tonight. Any suggestions would help even for future reference. I really want him to be able to catch something decent we don't have to throw back in. Thank you so much and keep up the great work.
Awesome. That water is unlike any I have ever seen. How deep is that water around 26 minutes in? Also, at 26:08 you can see a shark swim into frame on the bottom right hand of the screen. I am killing time at work today with all of your videos!
There was a few good Nurse Sharks and what I think was a Lemon that kept coming into my chum line. I didn't want to mess with those on the bridge with my light tackle gear.
TheCoastalGunner I stay in Cudjoe on a canal right by the opening to the bay. We've used live shrimp, squid, chunked/stripped fish. If we catch smaller fish we'll strip em up. We usually catch parrotfish, morays (no fun) and sharks (also no fun) on the strips. Live shrimp seems to work on many different species, but on our canal it's mostly snapper/grunt. you never know what you might get. Lots of grouper as well.
The wind is killing us right now up here on the gulf coast of North Florida as well. I'm about tired of it! It's like Matthew left us a crappy present. We've got red snapper and cobia chewing like crazy up here but can't get to them because of the dang east winds!
Yea, the Blackfins are all over the reef edge, but no way to get out there in this mess. It looks like in the all of October there might be three possible offshore days. September was awesome. The entire summer was a mess. Brutal year.
That last one was Harris Channel I think. It is one of the first bigger channels with any depth. Night time is the key. I'll give it another shot, with live Pinfish as well.
Really enjoy your videos. However, I have four small children who also enjoy watching fishing videos with me. Some of the adjectives that you are using are not good for my kids. I am jealous of the fishing...my wife and I miss Florida.
Bruh all these people want a fishing montage and shit which is boring asf. If you dont like him keeping it real then dont even bother commenting its his channel not yours. I my self love his content and relate cause i also live down in keywest and sometimes go bridge fishing
Key West Kayak Fishing Yeah for real. and honestly dude i love your videos alot because i relate so much. cause like i said, i live in Kw born and raised. Keep up the good work brother
Hey Steve' Just bouncing around your uploads checking out the dream haha. so question or 2 if you don't mind answering. Q1: What are the minimum size and limits on keep-able Mangrove snapper. Q2: I know you primarily post Kayak vids, but can you continue to find some time to do different shore / bridge / pier fishing vids for the non boaters? From catching the bait to areas where you fish? Thanks in advance and continue to have fun making the vids. If you and i ever went fishing together we would be the F'bomb brigade on all missed fished lol. It's the NY'er in me. I could fish in that one corner or the bridge for hours and never get board. I\m starting to miss Long Island NY. Here in Georgia where i currently live and care for my older sister, if you don't have a boat the fishing is so limited. sucks but hey it happens. Be Well and God bless. Hey btw i think you like Sushi only cause you like civiche, could you make a catch & Sushi time with some fresh fish one day?
10" for the mangroves, but not a lot of meat on them at that size. I prefer 13-15. Because of the limitation caused by the wind, if I want to fish, I have to adjust my fishing style. Glad you like them. Steve
Steve: I subscribe to two fishing channels - yours and BlacktipH. BlacktipH has better filming (he is a graduate of Full Sail University) and more exciting expeditions. I subscribe to yours because I see me. Lot of boredom, lots of swearing, lots of snarled lines, but always optimism. Josh loves fishing because he is an adrenaline junkie. You love fishing for the sheer joy of landing A fish, any fish, no matter the size. Thanks for showing me that I am not crazy for spending hours out on the flats to catch a measly fish.
@@KeyWestKayakFishing really? I was so curious to what I was catching and its a mutton? The blue lines threw me off but I thought it may have been since the black dot
I really want to know about your footwear. I am guessing they are pull-on wading boots for the flats, but I see you in them even when you aren't wading. Same question about pants. You almost never wear shorts. tell me about those pants. Thanks. LOVE the vids.
I think an evening/dusk trip with some nice live pinfish and no chum will get one. That Mutton was small. Maybe legal but it would have been close. We will see more of those as the temperatures drop a bit. The baitfish are starting to move in shore so a lot more bigger stuff will be around those bridges.
I was just by the naval base and this one fisherman near it gave me his calcutta rod and reel combo that was brand new for free. Didn't even know the guy, he was on his way out and gave it to me and said "I dont want it"
I will be buying a Rod or 2 when I fly over in October & taking my chances with them in the luggage hold on the way back...... Unless I can hire some gear? Im re viewing these vids on the Bridges & they are great to watch over ;-)
Yep, But here in Australia we get big reds in the river's here (salt water river's) what I have found to work really well and you could try this your self, I cast for mullet, once you have a good hall I use some as live baits some as dead, now with the dead baits were the anile fin is you cut the tail off just behind that, then squash the head a bit not too much just enough to get the juices flowing, place the hook through the hard part of the head from the side of the fish then bring it through turn and back into the body with the point of the hook sticking out past the barb, cast and wait, Now I know there are a lot of people out there that tell tall tail's about fishing trips, and it seams to be the pastime of every fisherman to enlarge the troth, but this did happen, I was fishing in a little river just outside of town called peruno park, I was in my boat and using the setup I just described above, as the tide came in I was catching some good red's, I was using 2 rods and as always had them in the rod holders, just as I turn to get some insect repellent my heavy rod got hit, the fish hit that hard and fast it pulled the back of the boat around into the mangroves, now me being me I thought you are not getting away that easy, in the torch light I could see the fish, so with pressure on the line and lip grips in hand I reached over (and it took a bit to get him) and got this rather big red, after putting him on the truth mat, he measured just over 28inches, that is the biggest I have caught, the average is about 15 to 18inches, if you like catching redbrim (that's what we call them) then come on over and we will take you out to some of the best fishing you will ever get, Australia, Townsville, North Queensland, Far North Big Fish.
Can we start a gofundme for like $30 to get this guy some pliers? I can't be the only person that bothers. Like the video regardless... nice useful topic since that place was crazy windy when we were down there. Really enjoy the variety of vids.
Wait, never mind. He has pliers in part two! Guessing they didn't make it into the bag he hauled from the car. I think all of us have done that before...
Come to venture out on cudjoe I have a cool place mangroves love to hide. Also is it just me or are these 20+greys the smartest fish on the planet ? They are so scared to bite anything I do 10 lb fluorocarbon and they can still see it . They are tricky.
I thought 30 miles out was saying that the kayak fishing was really taking off in MS. I guess you have to go out pretty far to get the good fishing. Hard Head Catfish is probably not good for sashimi. LOL.
Some people are actually really grateful for all the information he gives. Thousand videos of people catching great fish but not many let alone in key west giving you top quality tips and tricks
Fishing license. He asked me where I was from because I have California plates on my car. I pay for an out of state license but he didn't even look at it. Just wanted to make sure I had one. Plus, I told him I was just doing catch and release fishing.
been watching your videos for a long time. Any interest in doing some bridge fishing for hire in April? let me know how to contact you if interested. April 17-24th
Dude you sound like me when I fish. Love it that you keep it real. Thank you.
Nice Vid with some good Sport from the Fish. Thanks for sharing, Graham.
Thanks for doing this type of video. You have a great way you share the knowledge you have. I do bridge and shore fishing... Thx again
✌️

Appreciate it Dan. Glad you are getting something out of them. I love the trolls. They are fun to poke with a stick. LOL .
I really enjoy your bridge videos. Nice work.......
Thanks Scott. It's nice to be able to get out and fish even when it is blowing like crazy.
I love the spot where you'd first started to fish. We get some nice size mangroves at night a couple days b4 the full moon
Yea, tonight I just noticed it was a full moon. That pretty much fit in to what you were saying. I generally don't fish the weekends, but possibly might try a night trip on Sunday. I'll see if they are still feeding even though it should be just past the full moon.
Sweet dude, I grew up fishing the bridges down there. Looking forward to your other videos.
October is going to be a windy month so probably going to be doing a lot of bridge fishing.
I once saw a goliath grouper swim out of that pipe near NAS. Scared me half to death as I had my head right down by the water looking around.
Hey I have a house in gieger key by the spot u were fishing at 10:00 thanks for the tip on the tarpon and I saw your video fishing in gieger and I think I've seen you (I live in the blue house on stilts that used to be pink by gieger key marina. Hope I see you
Hey Justin. Yea, I fish out of Geiger all the time. Lots of my videos are around that area. My kayak is hard to miss. See you out there.
I really like your videos they're very informative and your kayak videos have been a huge help to me because I fish on in Upper Niagara River and Lower River the dumps into Lake Ontario been very
how's the weather and the bite around the beginning of September? planning a yak trip down there around that time

I use to fish over at the power plant on stock island, they have it closed off now.Nice video for bank fishing.

Thanks for posting
Yea, it definitely makes videoing easier when you have a beautiful back drop. Makes up for the lack of filming quality.
Yes ture to that
What size hook were you using?? Great vid!
What mile marker is that been fishing in the keys for years haven seen that bridge ... awsome videos
Around 10 is the turn off. It is on the road to Geiger key.
Hey if u dont mind me asking where is that spot that u caught the pinfish?
Love your vids there the best you inspire me!
Good deal. Put down that baseball and grab a fishing pole.
Awesome video like always man!
Thanks for watching Juan.
Always enjoy your videos
do you have a video on how you throw your cast net you make it look easy not like other guys in teeth and over shoulder love your vs i'm from key west actually key haven but always had a boat since I was 8 live in Pensacola now trying to learn to throw net
Who needs a kayak when you got mondo snappers to catch under the bridge!?
Key West Bridge Fishing w/ a bit of kayak fishing. That'll be my new channel name.
I love the disappointment when you hook a shark! I laugh every time….we’re coming from Canada in November and would love to hook a shark.Or anything for that matter.thanks for the posts buddy they’re awesome 😎
I'd love it if you'd make a channel 5/long key bridge video in the future!!
I'm going to try and get up there. That's a full days trip from Key West. I usually have a afternoon to do these fishing trips so it makes it tough. I'll try though.
drove 1100 miles to fish this bridge lol thanks steveo!
chucker roo did you get good results??
Do you use J hooks for cut bait and circle for live only?
No, mostly circles for everything as I primarily do catch and release. J-hooks when I am having hook up problems or meat hunting.
Have to ask you: how often do you get stopped by the Fish & Game officers?
what camera are you using for this video ?
I was using a GoPro 4 silver. I get good audio using the touchscreen backing plate. My other camera is the Hero 3 black. Sound is crappy on that one with the case.
Amazing clarity; I am really interested in getting one now. Thank you for your reply. Great video by the way as I am into fishing too.
Hey this isn’t off us1 right? I would like to try this spot but I don’t know how to get there. How do you get here from US-1? Nice videos by the way
Is this a spot u just pull up to, toss the net and there may or may not be bait?? Did u find by random blind tosses?
Those damn trees Steve!! Like something out of a Charlie Brown special (btw I'm hoping for some Ohio/Missouri footage myself boy do I have some stories).
Every problem I have ends up having to do with some part of the mangrove trees. I did some time in the Kansas City, Kansas/Missouri. Lots of trees under the water there. I caught a lot of those too.

any good places to fish on the shore in marathon?
All the bridges around there are great. If they have the fishing walkways on the bridges if not, the bases of the bridges always have good current.
Chris Carter where is this?
What kind of rod do you use?
Check the description in my newer videos. I list them all there.
Key West Kayak Fishing thanks
The fish police always patrol those two bridges. You ain't kidding about 20+ mangroves in there. Caught a few with the yoyo. You could also do that while there's other people there but there'll be a lot of ducking heads. lol Some people get frustrated while others are glad fish are being caught.
Yea, that corner on the outgoing is a tough spot. Those big ones didn't get big by leaving their little fortress. I'll target those guys again.
Love you vids man keep it going👍🎣
Thanks for watching and commenting Nike.
Why do you cut the head of the bait? why not use it whole?
Federico Ginnari more blood will come out and attract fish
Yes. like James said. To get scent in the water. Also, sometimes to cut the bait down to a more manageable size. Depends on what I am after.
Yup, you got it.
great tip! thanks.
yo man im planing on going to the keys this weekend whats a good spot to get yellow tail and snapper
The reef and brides.
Any place from key largo or islamorada
Snappers gave small mouths so they nibble don't set the hook until the BAM HAPPENS WHEN UR ROD SCREAMS
Will do. "Reel reel reel" "don't set the hook" thats pretty much guide talk.
can you use mangrove snapper as bait ?
Hey, where exactly is this? I know it's in Key West, but where exactly?
I generally fish Saddlebunch #5 or Park Channel bridge.
Do you use mono on all your reels?
Where is this bridge located?
Park Channel.
Nice video man .tight lines
Thanks Beast. You too.
good stuff bro, I was trippin out!!!!!
Glad you liked it. LOL.
@ 35:50 sec fuken tree😂😂😂 sounds like me when I'm bridge fishing...I luv it...what bridge is this?
No censoring on this channel. LOL. It's the bridge on the way to Geiger Key.
Really love the vids they inspire me
Thanks Aristiano. Definitely get out there. Fishing therapy.
2.00 where is that place in the keys?
My husband has been wanting to go fishing for some time now. Every time we've gone in the past we've fished off the main bridges but its so high and we never catch anything. Awesome. That water is unlike any I have ever seen. How deep is that water around 26 minutes in? Also, at 26:08 you can see a shark swim into frame on the bottom right hand of the screen. I am killing time at work today with all of your videos!
LOL. Lots of people do. On a fairly calm day our visibility generally runs in the 35 ft range. Under those bridges it gets to be about 8 feet.
The time you take to get started, im finnised eating.
Great vid dude
Thanks Ferdion. Glad you liked it.
+Key West Kayak Fishing Wow you replied me, thx 😊
Shark to the far right of the screen at 26:09
There was a few good Nurse Sharks and what I think was a Lemon that kept coming into my chum line. I didn't want to mess with those on the bridge with my light tackle gear.
ive been invited to stay with friends who dont fish in the cudjo key....any advice you can give would be appreciated...
Shore/kayak/boat?

I would love to see more on that last bridge, they got bigger
That last one was Harris Channel I think. It is one of the first bigger channels with any depth. Night time is the key. I'll give it another shot, with live Pinfish as well.
Do you ever Flounder fish?
We don't have them down this far. The upper Keys toward the mainland they might get a few.
Really enjoy your videos. However, I have four small children who also enjoy watching fishing videos with me. Some of the adjectives that you are using are not good for my kids. I am jealous of the fishing...my wife and I miss Florida.
love how smooth your camera is. what camera and mount are you using? thanks
I primarily use a Gopro 4 silver and have a Gopro 3 Black on a pole. The 4 silver has pretty good audio.

Will do Braeden
what are those tilapia?
Yea, the thumbnail is a Mutton Snapper, and the others are Mangrove Snappers. Great eaters.
at 42:40 , thats a baby mutton snapper??
Yup, a juvenile Mutton. You can tell it's a mutton as the anal fin is pointed rather than round.
@@KeyWestKayakFishing really? I was so curious to what I was catching and its a mutton? The blue lines threw me off but I thought it may have been since the black dot
What type of fish is 42:42?
let a peace flow alongside the trees
fun to watch!~~
Thanks.
I thought this was Keywest bridge fishing. Damn over 10 min before you started fishing.
Where do you live in Florida
Key West.
Key West Kayak Fishing where is this?
I really want to know about your footwear. I am guessing they are pull-on wading boots for the flats, but I see you in them even when you aren't wading.
Same question about pants. You almost never wear shorts. tell me about those pants.
Thanks.
LOVE the vids.
I love your car I use to have one and nice snapper
Good luck with those 20"+ mangroves, they extremely smart. Nice mutton at the end! How big was it?

Hey this video was great I want to know if you want to go to key largo
I used to live there for a while. About four years ago. It's a long drive from Key West. I kayak fished all around there.
If you want to get some good fish on your line, net for mullet, put them on live and cut there tale off, you will get big reds.
That vibration really turns the fish on.

very interesting video
Thanks Anthony.
thank you so much I appreciate it:)
No problem. Thanks for watching.

Come to venture out on cudjoe I have a cool place mangroves love to hide. Also is it just me or are these 20+greys the smartest fish on the planet ? They are so scared to bite anything I do 10 lb fluorocarbon and they can still see it . They are tricky.
Does everyone need a FL fishing license to fish?
Yes if your fishing in Florida. Even on the shore.

ให้ดีขึ้นนะ
So why do you think the cop asked if you lived here?
l live at biloxi ms we catch nothing but hard head cat fish there no places to go fishing here
I thought 30 miles out was saying that the kayak fishing was really taking off in MS. I guess you have to go out pretty far to get the good fishing. Hard Head Catfish is probably not good for sashimi. LOL.
ive fished there alot of cidas and snappers
Are you going to fish or talk
Some people are actually really grateful for all the information he gives. Thousand videos of people catching great fish but not many let alone in key west giving you top quality tips and tricks
Lets get started
That could be my intro slogan.
what did the officer asked you for?
Fishing license. He asked me where I was from because I have California plates on my car. I pay for an out of state license but he didn't even look at it. Just wanted to make sure I had one. Plus, I told him I was just doing catch and release fishing.
Oh, ok :) thanks for answering, nice catches btw
I only go fishing on pier there are no other places around here ):
Get a kayak man. It opens up so many fishing spots. Except when it is windy, then the pier is it.
Oh Fudge!😎
