    Capital, from his showbiz earnings. Connections, from his Dad. Not taking anything from him but he's quite lucky.

    He hasn't really answered the questions. Like how he manages himself when he's not successful. like he said he needs to be motivated, but how has he driven himself. He's spoken a lot about his successes but much less all the failures he might have encountered and how he dealt with it. don't tell me that he bought a damaged piece of equpiment is why he's here. don't get me wrong, but to be honest, I've encountered much better speakers in my lifetime.but I guess he has exceeded social expectation

    My guy friends went to the same school as him in Vancouver. They said he had a tough time and often got in fights. It's too bad he didn't graduate from highschool, the school he went to was an all boy's private school-very elite. It's charming to hear him talk with a slight Canadian (a bit of HK too?) accent, and saying things like "grade 10", instead of "tenth grade", which is what Americans say. Anyway, thank you for the upload. It gave me a nice break from my studies ^^

    Good luck with making your own CGI short film. These days affordable tools are available to help people make interesting animated short films. It helps to have a great story to tell, so I guess write a good script first.

    I'm from M'sia, just officially stepped into the post production line as a 3D artist last year after graduated frm college. It's so inspiring and gives me a new perspective of Malaysia's post production (even he says nothing abt it), and gives me courage on making my own CGI short film which I had failed for so many times. Thanks for whoever that uploaded this video, all the best to everyone who pursuing their dreams. And btw thanks for visiting my country for the company trip.

    Why so much criticisms about one's English? These students obviously grew up in a Chinese-speaking community, of course they will not speak English with an American or British accent, or whatever accent you prefer. Good job to that girl who is at least trying her best in utilizing her English skills.

    This guy changed my perspective towards him from what I've known him as an actor, singer etc. I kinda heard his success story obscurely. But, through this video, he earns my respect for him. Very inspirational talk !

    I like him a lot. He having successful business and entertainment industry but fail at family.It might have come from his tight schedule from business and show biz. so he might have had less attention to family. but after all, it's worth coz he'd achieved what he had dream. so i got a lesson from him that nobody can perfect in everything. but he still got a chance to do what he wants. He is very admirable human. love him

    Nicholas is quite amazing. He understood these concepts at such a young age but I think he's not yet adept at expressing these concepts-he often repeated vague, generic ideas like hard work, persistence yet is not quite willing to share accounts of his company's ups and downs to supplement his ideas. It was a good try though!

    This talk was open to all university staff and students. Both undergraduate and post-graduate. The additional teaching materials we are developing (written case and a 10-15min classroom video) are for use in the undergraduate program. They, however, can also be used at the post-graduate level.

    Man...It's now 3:47am my time, and I watched this from beginning till the end. I thought to watch just for a while initially, and continue tomorrow morning. But, who knows, he's truly an inspirational young leader, and I like his personality.
    I gained so much valuable knowledge & insights from this 1.23 hours. For those of you who hesitate to watch it because of the duration of the video (I had the same thought earlier LOL), watch it, especially if you are going for entrepreneurship journey.

  • @kanzteo

    He is so wise at such a young age. The way he inspires his workers to work for themselves rather than using fear to control them is very wise. 以德服人. Even when his family discourage him to do business with disparaging remarks, he still went on to start his business. That is the mark of a true enterpreneur. A truly laudable man!

    mywhf > which is true another copy of this original video
    has been made by a third party with English and translated

    however it contains many errors and incomplete transcripts!!
    。。。just clarify it, no hard feeling!! ^^

  • @alanbirdHQ

    on which part of the video have you seen the English subtitles?
    there is no built-in captions for this clip, only TH-cam's machine transcribed one.

    Does anyone know that without the GODLY hands from his father, he wouldn't have all those chances laid out in front of him? I don't hate the guy but for him to stand there to educate people about his success, I think its just another show for him to gain sympathy or more respect from the HK public, I am sure his publicist has assisted this part thereof.

  • @ngth
    @ngth 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    It is true that one of the interviewers has a heavy Hong Kong accent but she is merely a learning student. A good school gives opportunity to different students. I personally do not think someone that is not perfectly fluent or has a perfect pronunciation in English should just lock oneself in a room and stop speaking english. With an accent, it takes lot of courage to speak, especially in public. At least she tried her best. Don't despise someone that has the courage to try.

    For the first time I found he is so charming not only because of his appearance, but he is also a hardworking,ambitious and mature business man. He is so gentle, patient and thoughtful. He is different from the actor and singer Nicolas in stage or movie. He is shining all the time when he is delivering the speech.

  • @yclau1613

    There're just too much things that somehow take away our attention to care for which made us living for the others instead. He is a great reminder of what we should be looking into. It looks like he learned from the past of what he have done and there you go, he went there as a storyteller telling us that he doesn't believe in perfection, there're always spaces for improvements.

  • @anlwong
    @anlwong 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    I can see kindness and good intention from Nic to those students by willing to share his other side which he doesn't necessary have to. We can be benefited from learning how he lives life to be successful. He has definitely much more substance than those "stars" who can only talk rubbish daily on their weibo. I can see the tireness, hard efforts and suffering but still with good conscience and thankfulness on his non artificial face!

  • @anlwong
    @anlwong 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    You are truely with good heart for those students and a humble attitude to people. You continuous strikes yourself to improve and excel is touching. All these certainly make us see you stand up from those so called "stars" only play around with low grade gossips, expansive clothing and plastic surgeries to survive the entaining world. We can see the public especially new generation can at least get some benefits and learning out from your extroordinary life!

  • @yclau1613
    @yclau1613 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Maybe he is just another speaker who might be not as good as the other ones to some of the people out there. However, I used to be his fan and I was quite disappointed of what he had done in the past. In a way, I really do admire to the people of whoever they are being honest to themselves and believe in what they do.

    No doubt on his acheivements in acting and singing career. Though i briefly heard of his success in post production business before, after this seminar, i highly appreciate and respect him as he is really talented in so many areas, with rational thinking, strong management skills, clear visions, die-hard passions and committments.

    Honestly this is a great show for Nic. I am sorry about my English is not very gd, but I tried to listen it without any sub. Thanks for giving some case to teach us how to be successful. Actually my English made me couldn't been understood the whole show, but I thought that I got the 80 percent main point of this. It is a great training to my English listening, thanks so mach.

    Nicholas Tse is well-defined what a successful leadership is. He deserves what has now. Looking at what he has been through and comparing today's Nicholas Tse with the Nicholas Tse at 23, he has really grown a lot. Regardless his career as an artist, he is a great business man.

    as a Chinese Canadian I can tell you Nic does NOT have a White accent. I don't speak like a white Canadian, but Nic's and my accent aren't as heavy as people from Asia. If you are not born in Canada you usually don't have a 100% local accent.

  • @hihieva123
    @hihieva123 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    and seriously i don't think it's too bad. Think of those members in legislative council, they have an even stronger hong kong accent. Of course, we should have a higher standard for those tertiary student, but just as ngth said, at least, she tried her best.
