I am 80-always cycled but was starting to struggle a bit.Bought a focus with fazua system from wheelbase in Staverley.Best purchase I have ever made and hopefully will be able to enjoy to continue cycling for a few more years!!
I think this guy from Fazua is doing a very good job. His English has an accent, but I find it clearer than native English-speaker. He speaks at a very nice pace, is very concise and precises. I must say I am really impressed with their range of product (which I didnt know about), and I think this man greatly contributed to that.
I bought a LOOK e-765 a couple months ago. I'm 75 now and have been riding for 35 years with several quality bikes. In the past couple years I moved to an area with more climbs and I started to feel I would have to shorten my rides or buy an e-bike. The LOOK with the Fazua system was the perfect solution. Now I have extended my rides, riding faster and climbing easier.
I wish bike manufacturers made those huge compartments in non-ebikes aswell, like that empty shell that the battery could be replaced with on this system. Would be great with that huge internal storage on bikerides & adventures.
I did not understand if/how the new remote controller is compatible/repleceable by the previous (wired) one. Hope more explanation on Fazua site. Regards.
If you do so, because of the bottom bracket and frame redesign you still get such bikes about two kilos heavier then initially non-electric competitors.
It's a great system that Fazua have come up with. Hope they grow from strength to strength. This really promises to bring e-biking to the masses. It would be great to see more content about this system and reviews of bikes implementing it.
The removable motor is a godsend for the US mountain bike market where many e-bikes are still banned from single-track trail. This would allow for the creation of a single bike that can be used for e-bike banned single-track (without motor) and e-bike legal trails with the motor. Though I suspect that riding the bike without the motor will get the rider some dirty looks from others as they will THINK the bike is an e-bike when really it is not. I like the idea of using the empty tube for storage. Now bring on some interesting bikes...
Then people will ride up using the battery, then take it out and hide it in their backpack on the way down. The whole banning of ebikes must stop. As long as you ride a properly regulated ebike with the 20mph cutoff it should be good everywhere. Nobody who cares about their own well being go too fast on technical trails just because they got an ebike. And no ban or law will stop idiots.
This bike was really easy to assemble th-cam.com/users/postUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA and required very few adjustments out of the box. The wheels did not require any truing/adjustments. The frame had some small scratches, but nothing major.I did replace the seat though - the seat it came with was very uncomfortable. The tires need to be re-inflated every 4-5 days, but this appears to be quite common for the narrow 700x25 tires.Overall, in my opinion, this bike looks and rides like a much more expensive bike.
Just bought a emtn bike with this motor but have only test ridden it and have not received it yet. To be blunt the assist level controller is a bad joke. You can not easily touch it lightly to change levels and you have to reach down under to the downtube to even try it and you can't see the different colors without craning over sideways. I dimissed this bike the first time I rode it because of this. The manager of the shop informed me later that every sale of this bike was changed out to a more standard bar mount controller so with this change I purchased the bike. Will see if it has enough power for my easy bike trail and road cruizing and how long that battery lasts.
Seeing 'new' I thought it would be a 2.0 or, at least 1.x (where x>0) iteration. This system (except for the touch screen) would have been 'new' a year ago (and I'm not even into road biking). Anyway, looking forward to seeing it in AU (always behind... 🥴)
Great advantage to be able to remove the motor from the bike with the battery. My bike is much better though, as it didn't come with one right from the factory ha ha ha. Really liking the idea though. I'd say that 700m elevation is not enough for MTB really. I don't mind lower torque at all, but with assistance 700m is not enough. I'd aim between this and bigger ebikes
I just bought a new 2021Trek Domane LT+, E Bike. 1-it’s a beautiful bike, and is comfortable to ride. 2-the built in remote is terrible, almost no functionality unless in rain mode, which took 5 minutes to figure out. The swip feature does not work, defective. 3-the power assist Fazua is almost not existent, I couldn’t tell a difference with it either on or off completely. Possibly defective right out of the box. 4-removing the battery is no easy task, it flops off hitting the ground if your not paying attention, plus the tire is in the way. Almost a 2 person task. Not sure why for a few extra $ there’s not a external charging port. 5-I’m returning this bike. Not impressed for $7k.
Initially there were charging problems which may well have been the chargers too. Then the rotor arms/spindles were failing to engage properly despite careful insertion. Then there was intermittent cut outs with seemingly no connection between remote and motor. Finally, the motor stopped working altogether on a (hill) and never worked again in my ownership. Respect to Halfords who did their best up to their point of expertise. Shame really. When it worked the bike (Boardman Hybrid E) with it's on board motor was really good. Hope this was a one off.

Maybe you find it clearer as you are not a native English speaker. Did you not understand the presenter?
@@1ninjatiger it was a year ago, I don't really remember x)

Thanks, Jack, great interview of the Fazua rep--impressive tech and Felix explained it well.
Thanks for having us!
Great work.
Do you also do Boardman Bikes?
Felix, fantastic. You're are one step ahead. When you visit AUSTRALIA contact me, we'll talk tech and whatever else comes along
Good to hear they are coming to AUS!

Like Specialized SWAT?
@@roilev Nope, to small, not interchangeable & can't fit long object into the opening
Wow I would 100% consider this bike.
just got a trek ecalibre, its game changing
I did not understand if/how the new remote controller is compatible/repleceable by the previous (wired) one.
Hope more explanation on Fazua site.
Regards.
What about anti Theft (is it lockable) and is the bottom bracket + drive unit waterproof without the motor and battery in place
Good idea to.put.the motor seperate thats good for saving weight on non assist.rides.
If you do so, because of the bottom bracket and frame redesign you still get such bikes about two kilos heavier then initially non-electric competitors.
Starting to get very interesting!
love the canyon...
Very clever system. Dont you think about to integrate a pinion like gearing? Or just a single speed, which changes the torque automatically at uphill?

OK I can get a new battery but how do I get a new motor pack.
Buy that man a Guinness!
haha :D
Nice one!

Nicolai Syvertsen I couldn’t agree more.

How they explain absence of external charging port in 2023?
Great system. Good luck rolling this out to a growing worldwide ebike market. I'm sure you'll do brilliantly.😎👍🌈

02:06 how to say Fazua correctly. Stop adding in a T.

I still prefer cordless drill powered.
Awesome tech!!!
Unfortunately I had nothing but trouble with the Fazua motor on my Boardman and ended up handing it back with a full refund.
what exactly i problematic? motor or bike frame? more technical or design fail?

250w battery and only 60nm of torque give me Bosch performance cx NOW
My 1979 Renault 4 engine could produce 50 Nm of torque. I don't know why I would ever need more torque in a bycicle?
It’s incredible what marketing can do. Fazua sucks on all the reviews and then Specialized “copied” and now it’s the new trend
Jack refuses to say correctly the company name :)
Ivo Roilev like, porsche, mercedes, and so on.... :D
