I’ve seen a lot of art interpreting the glowing core as malformed faces, which gives it the vibe of trapped souls that the warden/skulk has absorbed, or that the Warden feeds on/is constructed of. It pulses are reminiscent to a heartbeat, slow when idle and increasing in frequency when it’s aggravated and moving faster, so there’s definitely a sense of it being connected to the warden’s life. But honestly I hope we don’t get an official answer to what it is. It’s a bit spookier not having one.
2:29 that's a piece I never heard but am really impressed by - the dry, warbly, almost inhaling windy sound that plays with the soft screech at the end of 11 does sound a lot like some of the warden's inhaling and sniffing sounds. the weirdly meaty and juicy sounds that sculk blocks make when placed and destroyed also furthers the idea of the whole thing being a sort of living corruption, too.
Who would of thought the one and only old informational and building idea legend would make a return like this, especially with a voice reveal. I got one thing to say to you.. and that is good to see your still alive, old friend. 🙂👍🏻

The best way to neutralize the warden is to set up a piston with two observers. The piston will make so much noise the warden will completely ignore you and you can go about your business in safety.

Yes but as an update, 1.19 is kind of a let down. All we got was a new swamp with a frog and an allay. The deep dark was supposed to come in 1.17/18 along with archeology but instead they didn't, and also cancelled fireflies and the new birch forests

I was going to get to an ancient city in creative mode, give myself full enchanted netherite gear, and see how long I could survive... I instead spent 2 days restoring the city
My theory with the glowing blue In the middle of the Warden has to relate to its name. I’m sure everyone noticed this, but if not there is a soul in the centre of the warden. One of the definitions of warden is “a prison officer”. An inference that can be made from this is the Warden is trapping all the souls he has killed in his chest to empower him and most likely keep them in (almost like) his own hell. Therefore his main name was given as he is the one who sends those who he believes needs to be punished to be sent to hell. I could be wrong but, I believe the Warden and his chest (body-part chest not loot chest) most likely has a connection to the soul sands in the Nether. This is because both have the same looking soul in the soul sand block and the Wardens’ chest (body-part). So a possibility is that the souls the Warden has killed have been sent to the Nether ( The Nether I am using to represent hell as it has similarities to hell in other religions) Those sent to the Nether are most likely because of (possibly) sins. Whilst those remaining in the Warden are used to continue empowering him. However keep in mind this is all a theory not a fact.

I sure as heck am glad that they didn't go for those other designs of a Warden. They would definitely make people NOT want to explore the new biome, not only with the danger they bring, but also with their look. The current one we have is just perfect and fits with the Deep Dark so well

The warden isn’t an undead anymore. It’s immune to lava and it has a ranged sonic attack that goes through armor prot 4 and shields.
