  • Welcome! Thank you for being here, I appreciate your time and hope you learn something from my videos. A very special welcome to newcomers and visitors, please feel free to suscribe if you find my content helpful!
This week's video features more pearl paints! I know, what a surprise lol. I promise I will eventually resolve this obsession and move on to other things!! I am creating special little 8" round glass "cutting boards" or trivets as I call them, that employ Amsterdam pearl paints, stencils and various techniques over top to create a 2 sided design. The concept is to hang these and enjoy 2 designs in one piece. Now to figure out how to drill the holes without shattering the glass! This video is in segments and I apologize if it appears choppy. I try hard to cram a lot of content into less time to be respectful of YOUR time. It's neccessary to clip and pare down fluff and I'm a talker so sometimes it's a lot of clipping. My editing skills aren't fabulous and I should take a class or something at some point, I know. In the meantime, I want to get this content out to you regularly so bare with me while I learn! Thanks for your patience!
I'm using Sherwin Williams color to go for my pillow, my regular bloom formula paints and pigments, my cell activator is Aussie Floetrol and paint. You may refer to previous videos for those recipes.
All of my art projects are for sale and, if you'd like to purchase, you can find them here: www.michaels.c...

Well, Dawne, what a in-depth tutorial and involved process here. I wish I had an idea for the drillbit. All of these are really pretty, but yeah, you have a puzzle on your hands drilling through glass. I’m sure there is a method because I know it gets done. I think for sure you’re gonna need to have at least some tape on each side, but as far as the drillbit type, I think you’re on the right path with a diamond drillbit, I think that’s what they used to drill through glass.

Thank you! I kinda knew I was taking a chance using a tile bit lol. I've drilled glass many times successfully but flat thin glass is a whole other ball of wax than thick or curved glass. I ordered the diamond so we'll see how that works out 🤞

Love the background designs and good info on the skewer scraping the paint. I like how you put the contact paper on the back. These are beautiful! Maybe these can be displayed on those small easel things and put on a table or something. That way you could see both sides?

Thank you August! Yes, until I figure out how to get the hole drilled, the easle is pretty much it. A thought: at work we use those sticky tabs to fix packaging when the cardboard tears🫤

This is so cool! I have never seen these glass cutting boards in any of our Dollar Tree stores. Have you seen them anywhere else? Do you have links for the stencils that you used?

Thanks! They were such a fun experiment. I've only ever looked on Amazon for these and they were expensive. I found these in the kitchen stuff, they always tuck them on a low rack so it was a fluke that I found them lol. I've had the stencils for years, they came in a 20 pack from Amazon. I checked my orders and it was 9 years ago lol but the set I have is not available. They have a set of 9 now. Search 12x12 stencil pack.
