I am a creative soul with a thirst for knowledge and experience. My content is less about the teaching and more about the lessons so please be kind! My brand, Color of Life, is my life motto. Life should be all about gratitude, sharing, respect, ingenuity and growth. Acrylic pours are my newest obsession but I've been creating on an epic level my entire life! You should too!!
The content I post isn't specific to one type of art or creativity. Whatever I am currently obsessed with is what I am likely to share. I love fluid art, both acrylic and epoxy resin but I also love to design and build things. Woodworking is my strongest suite and water features make my heart pitter patter.

The Elusive @Sheleeart Pleat! One More Try!!
Hello! Welcome if you're new and Welcome Back if you're a returning viewer! When I'm challenged, I don't throw in the towel easily. I gather all my positive energy and give it my best shot. Sometimes it works, sometimes I have to try another day. That's not today! I knew I could do a Sheleeart pleat because I've done 2 previously that did come out right. Failing a dozen times doesn't mean you can't eventually gather enough knowledge and experience to succeed, which is where I was. That is the wonder and excitement of fluid art, in essence: doing a technique over and over until you can do it successfully. I love the bloom technique, partly because of all the different directions you can wander off to. This certainly is a very challenging one!
Thank you so much for being here and watching my adventures in paint( along with a few other things)! You are genuinely appreciated ❤️
My pillow is PPG Multipro white eggshell.
My colors are Amsterdam Azo Yellow, Pthalo Blue, Turquoise and Red Violet. My pigments are pearlx blue/green shift, a custom mix of Arteza raspberry, strawberry, magenta and a couple drops of Golden quinacridone nickel azo gold and a deep greenish blue mix that I can't remember what I added into🤷♀️(all Arteza)
My cell activator is Amsterdam titanium white in Australian floetrol.
Both of my palette knives used were from Michael's. My canvas is an 8" from Hobby Lobby.
My spinner is a marble one I found at TJMaxx a long time ago, it's 12" in diameter. I have a basic Wilton silicone round on top of it to improve grip and a 12" diameter silicone tray mold with 1/2" sides.

Summer Bloom Recipe Changes Hello again everyone! My goodness things have been crazy!! I've had way too many things going on and way to little focus. Hyper-lapse night sky from Las Vegas

I set up my camera on hyper-lapse basic setting just to see what happens in the sky at night while we sleep. It recorded 11 minutes over an 8 hour timespan, from moon rise to sunrise. We are planning some evenings far outside the city's glow to record some time lapse as well as our July 4th shenanigans around the area. Hope you enjoy this short intermission between artistic creations!

Hello and Welcome to subs and newcomers alike! I finally managed to get ahead of the paint formula, desert climate and cell activator issues that sucked up a lot of time, materials and brain cells! Yay!! It's been really challenging since this is my first Las Vegas summer doing primarily bloom painting. I've done plenty of other types of fluid art in our summer weather with no issues whatsoever...

Nice pleats!!! If you use a skewer or stick to fill in the dots before you spin it gets rid of them, but they work in this one! Love how the lacing came out and the pleats are so good! It dried perfectly!
Thank you! That means a lot to me🩷 I'm gonna keep at it cuz, yanno, a little encouragement goes too far🤣
Wow that gorgeous
Thank you🩷
Yayyyyy!!! 🎉 Looks great!!
Thank you love!🥰😘
By George, you did it!!
Haha yesssss!
I love it it's beautiful. The shine it perfect. We'll done.

Great job! Looks pleated to me!

Dawn, this is super cool to see! I bet the clear glass lends itself well to those interference colors and light coming through makes them sparkle a lot! I subscribed to your channel and will be binge watching your other videos over the coming weeks. There are certain artists I follow that I wish lived closer, and you’re certainly one of them. It would be so fun to paint with you! Thanks for sharing your process. It’s so helpful to those of us starting our bloom journey.
Thank you for all of that! I so appreciate you being here and finding my content helpful🩷 there's been quite a bit of discussion about getting together a large group not in an expo type setting so more people could afford the trip. I hope that comes to fruition, I'd travel for that! It would be so much fun to meet everyone in person and play in paint together ❤️
That’s cool about the pillow, I didn’t know you could do that. These are beautiful!!! I love the look of these with the subtle color and the silver CA is really cool.
Thank you! I've experimented with various formulas for translucent/ transparent pillows for wood and glass. I've learned very quickly to only tint these pillows with transparent acrylic ink so the color doesn't interfere with the sheer effect. It's pretty cool! I'm spray painting a few canvas rounds for the next video🩷
@@vegasmainiac7745 I’ve saved the video because I definitely want to try this
You should! Imagine the subtle colors as a pleat? Brilliant gold ca would really contrast it well❤️
@@vegasmainiac7745 oh a pleat would be so cool to try! I’ll tag you when I do it 💙
Can't even wait! Do it😁
Gorgeous
Thank you! Shame is melted shortly after😥
Absolutely beautiful. 🩷
Thank you🩷 I appreciate you watching!
@@vegasmainiac7745 it’s my pleasure.
Aha I'm the first to comment on this lovely great color and composition
Ah hahaha good catch! Thank you🩷
I love your work. I am just starting with this pour stuff, I enjoy you admitting your mistakes and learning from them. I usually do my furniture painting and design then decided to adventure into paint pouring, and I love it. It is like therapy for me.. I appreciate the fact that you use your recipes in your videos as well. That has helped me a lot. Thank you.
My pleasure! So glad you're here and my videos are helpful for you🩷
Really beautiful I love it
Thank you Cat🩷
Absolutely breathtaking. Georgeous
Thank you!💗
The silver sparkle in the CA is so cool! Love the colors, the composition and the watercolor effect. Putting the interference pigments down before the colors is a great background
Thanks! It really is a pretty effect with that ca. I wasn't super thrilled with how the background dried, it was dull and hard to see the interference colors, even resin didn't pull it up. I'll definitely try it again!
The volumn on your video is too low cand i have setting on maximium. Please fix
Thank you
Beautiful!
Thank you🩷
Gorgeous what brand were your interference pigments? Was everything mixed as bloom paints with untinted house paint?
Thanks! I used polycolor pigment from stonecoat mixed with untinted base 3 behr 3300, thickened with amsterdam pearl paints that matched the pigments
Absolutely beautiful i love it
I could definitely relate with what you were talking about with the writers block or painters block definitely happens when you talked about interference colors and can you explain to me exactly what interference colors are? I know I should know that, but I don’t know definitively. Really pretty!
Thank you! I'm pretty sure we all get the creative block fairly regularly lol, it bites! Interference pigments and paints are the ones that look white but show their true colors on the tilt or on a dark background. Like ballgown, twinkle, comet and amsterdam pearls!
@@vegasmainiac7745 thanks👌
Such a beautiful tutorial thank you so much for sharing your creativity. It’s awesome and letting everybody know how to mix the medium and the paints. Thank you.
Thanks so much! I'm happy to share what I know and glad you found it helpful🩷
Very informative video. The tote bag is awesome! There are so many possibilities with you being able to make this type of thing
Thanks! I know a lot of people don't sew but I thought I'd give people an option. Still trying to find a way to use those old painted canvases though!
👍
Love that added ballgown on the sides and you definitely saved it! So if you did it again you would put the first two swipes closer to the middle? Very cool composition! And the round looks really good! Happy 4th!
Thanks! The ballgown was an afterthought but I love it too! Oh I absolutely screw it up every single time, I don't know why logic doesn't kick in until WAY after lol. I loved the round after it dried, wish I hadn't dinged it up! May thr 4th be with you🇺🇸✌️
Really enjoyed this. New sub here. My husband and I have a channel hippydippypainterman
Thank you for being here! I will check out your channel and subscribe back🩷
Very pretty. A way you can fix the AC problem (if your vents are in the ceiling) I bought magnetic ac deflector shields at Lowes. You still get the ac, just not blowing right on you. Works wonders 🙂
Thank you! I have the ceiling vent redirected and keep the portable on very low while I'm in the studio. Neither are set very low so it's still fairly warm. It's set just high enough to keep me from melting lol
13:11 VERY NICE! Love the shift in the colors.
Thank you! Fun colors❤️
Totally agree about having to alter your plans sometimes. That final piece turned out beautiful with that composition! I’m glad to hear the summer mix is working. This is my first summer since blooming so I’ve been trying to adjust, too. It dried beautifully!!!!
Thanks! My first summer blooming too, other types of fluid art aren't effected by seasonal changes cuz they don't use housepaint. Never had issues til now. Try eliminating varnish in a few paints and pigments, see what happens. I'm happy with the mix!
Love the soft colour. That’s an interesting hair dryer. Where did you get it?
Thanks! Amazon, it's the 1000 watt wazer kids dryer
Such a soft palette, beautiful
Thanks Louise ❤️
Beautiful thank you for sharing
Thank you! And I appreciate you being here 😊
Gorgeous
Thank you! These were some of the first coasters I ever made and a best seller too!
You need speaker closer to you I can barely hear you and my volume all the way up
I actually lower the volume when I edit the videos because my microphone picks up every little sound. I've had people complain about my air conditioner, my spinner, tapping bubbles out, even my water feature bubbling. I may have gotten this one too low
beautiful colours
Thank you❤️
The blue pigment mix is beautiful. Love the combover and when you lifted the canvas you could see that sparkle immediately. The details on the closeup are awesome!!!!
Thanks! It definitely grew on me😁
This is Beautiful - love the colors and design 😊
Thank you❤️
Wonderful video , I liked the very explicit tutorial, thanks a lot. I subscribed to your channel….
Thank you! So glad you found it helpful and thank you for subscribing❤️
Beautiful
Thank you!
Really pretty, you mentioned during the video if you spin too hard, it would warp, can you explain what you mean by that?
Thank you💕 Yes, I spin more slowly so that I can control how the paint moves outward. Having more pillow in the middle to cause the design to open up makes it precarious to keep it centered. As the pillow moves from the middle, it will warp your cells like crazy. I tested this by adding a regular mouth blown bloom to the center of a bloom halo before spinning. It was almost impossible to control the warping and get enough paint off! These halo shaped designs are an intricate dance with centrifugal force!
@@vegasmainiac7745 Oh, like distort and make wonky! I wondered how it would warp the piece 👍🏼👍🏼
Beautiful May I ask what size is the pan you have your spiner in where did you get it please your artwork is beautiful thank you
Thank you! My paint corral is 30" diameter and I made it when I couldn't find what I wanted to fit my narrow table. I cut a 30" diameter round out of 3/4" plywood and 3-5" wide strips of 1/8" plywood(which I soaked in my bathtub overnight to make flexible). I just line it with 2mil plastic to contain the flying paint!
Beautiful
Thank you❤️
Gorgeous
Thank you!
That’s so cool it unwarped!! It dried beautifully!
Thank you! It's been an amazing day!
That’s too bad about the warp. This turned out beautifully!! I’ve never done a tray and get scared thinking I’ll put too much paint and ruin it 😂
Thank you 😊 There's a surprise though! It unwarped over night!! I'm so so happy🩷 Don't be afraid, nothing can be done that can't be undone! With wood trays, because you shellac them first, the paint peels right out with a little citrusstrip!
@@vegasmainiac7745 oh that’s good to know about the paint peeling out! And awesome that it unwarped!
Hi Dawn, guess you’re getting like me with the Functional Art creations, so much fun and useful. Sorry about the warp on that pretty result you have there😔
Hey Louise ❤️ I've been doing more trays and lazy susans for sure! Great news to wake up to: the warp flattened overnight!! And the dry results are beautiful 😍
Happy Anniversary! Congrats again on the Michael’s gig! These are beautiful!! Interesting about the different CA’s. Both sets are great and I like the colors 😍
Thanks! I'm definitely blessed❤️ love the colors too but the warm colored ones didn't dry pretty🤦♀️
They turned out awesome
Thank you!❤️

I did a pour on a pegboard a few months ago . I did rainbow colors

And I completely understand about the video stuff...lmao I just completely forget to even do a video...:) Good job! though ...you know you can white it out and do it again right? :) <3
Yep and I have my tube paints hung already and you can't see any if it🤣🤣🤣 Although, using pegboard to do a pour would pose some interesting challenges 🫠🤣
