      Foreigner was another one I wish I’d caught but that was for more of a bar band feel like Stevie Miller Band. Queen was up there on the mountain top as a big production by musical royalty or on their way there.

      I saw them 1977 at the Stadium in Chicago. The A Day at the Races tour. We were right up front in front of Brian May.
      The show was great until some a**hole threw eggs on the stage and Brian slipped and fell. The band walked off the stage but came back after about 15 minutes but the energy wasn't the same. Queen cut their set short and only did one encore.
      I hope karma catches up to whoever threw those eggs.

    It’s interesting Freddie didn’t want to fix his teeth out of fear of losing voice range and quality, yet he smoked and drank.
    Regardless, he was the most gifted, skilled, talented singer and music arranger in human history. God knows how I miss, adore and love this fellow I never had a chance of meeting.

    Individually, they probably would have done okay, but nothing to write home about. Together those four men were absolute magic. They are the definition of teamwork. Even today without Freddie or John the magic still exists when they play the songs they created together. If Freddie hadn't passed on I'm sure he and John would still be rocking away along with Brian and Roger today.

      No doubt, Freddie was the real Star and creative genius. How many new songs did Taylor and May write after Freddie‘s death? It’s a shame that they still use Freddie‘s songs, even those he created for his solo projects. And they let some Adam Lambert sing them.

    We all have our favorites, and Al Jolson is the best frontman of all time. But even he would love Queen. Play the Game their best track.

    • @jamesfretwell1511
      @jamesfretwell1511 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Tell me your not being serious? Theres no comparison Al jolson stood around moving his hands around a lot (basically what Freddie did in his last music video when he was dying), and he was pretty one dimensional, at least compared to Freddie he was. Freddie mercury owned audiences on a massive scale, A scale Al Jolson could only dream about, and his vocal range was on a totally different level. Your clearly biased, and yes we have our favourites, but its universally known that Freddie mercury was the best front man ever.

    Bohemian Rhapsody is exactly the length of time that it is, how could it be any other length, I recall some talk of Band on the Run being too long also but if you listen to it still today it's exactly the length of time necessary to contain the beginning, middle and end, Genius can not be questioned by mere mortal record label execs or Radio programmers, you don't get Vincent Price on Thriller without a bit of genius, however I'm pretty sure Alice Cooper was first at that.

    I admire Freddie Mercury because he was comfortable living in his own skin….he embraced his looks, eccentricity, theatric and artistic style…he didn’t resort to tattoos and piercings like nowadays to make a statement or stand out…he embraced his teeth believing they helped….he was a one of a kind..not a follower. That’s why he was King of Queen and The Greatest Showman…as he said..”there is only one hysterical queen..darling.” 🩷
