I got my game today. Nfl, Afl, Wfl and Usfl seasons. I like the roster(s). I wish there were ways to call plays on a certain situation. I'll have to plow thru the rules. Thanks for the video.
Give me Strat-O-Matic everyday and twice on Sunday. One thing I don't much care for is multiple FAC's to determine a single play outcome. It took like 4 FAC's just to determine where the receiving team would start with the ball.
To each his own. I know some people aren't crazy about FAC-driven games, but I don't mind them. I bought Strat a couple of years ago, but I haven't played it yet, so I can't provide an opinion on it. But I'm looking forward to trying it out.
Give me ANYTHING by Downey games over strat..great customer service and that is the biggest thing for me. It doesn’t cost an arm and a leg and I can get a lot of seasons..
Hi David. The game is available from Downey Games. Here's the link to the e-book version: www.downeygames.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=5_6_147. And here's a link to the printed version: www.downeygames.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1_2_148
No, it's simply a FAC flipper, nothing else. What I've done is use the free Pro Football Helper program (desktopfootball.net/pro-football-helper/), resolve the play with FAF and enter those results into the Helper, which keeps all the stats. It's a great program, requires some work beforehand to build the text files of each team with the player list. But once you're playing, it's really easy to use. Peter
I just had a look at the files I have for the Helper, and discovered that I also have those text file for all NFL seasons from 1950 to 2019. They don't seem to be on that same page as the Helper. So if anyone wants me to send them along, send me an email at peter dot miller0714 at gmail dot com
@@petermiller7155 Thanks may do that. I'm interested in the decade college football teams. The Football helper do you clear out all the APBA game files and then add your own team files? As long as you have all the player files entered it should be pretty easy after this? I see the installers in the download that sets up Helper itself. Pretty cool you can play the game and just use it for data entry giving you complete stats.
Thinking about you could just create your own game folder making sure all is correct inside folder. The helper would read your folder and give the stats etc
@@brad6268 I'm not 100% well-versed on what you can do with the game. But I do know that it's important to use the Helper to "create a season directory", which will house all the stats (play-by-plays, boxscores, etc.). To do that, load the Helper, click the "Onto the Game" button. At that next screen, go to the Utilities menu and select Create Season Directory and follow the prompts. If you don't do this, you will get an error message at the end of your games and it won't save a boxscore etc.
Thanks for the video Peter, very helpful. Question, between this and Solitaire Pro Football, which do you prefer? Thanks again for all the excellent videos!
Hmmm...good question. I haven't played enough of FAF to make a judgement. SPF is a very solid football game that's easy to learn and play. FAF is also easy to learn and play. Sorry I can't give you a better answer than that.
The game looks less busy than Gridiron Wars. Thanks for the video.
Peter, your videos are very helpful and well done. Looks like I will be buying yet another game you have done a video on. Thanks very much.
I purchased also. Bought the 1971 season and am enjoying it very much.
The game comes with an Excel FAC Flipper too. Good video. This game looks solid. Going to pick it up in a couple days.

Hey Peter can y send me details on how to buy this game from you or wherever I may purchase a copy?

Can you set e-book version to tabulate stats and give you a box score? Will the excel part do this?. Nice demo and interesting game.

Did you make the retro Cleveland & Cincy 2 bar helmet cards yourself?
No, got the logos from Chris Creamer's logos page (sportslogos.net), copied and pasted them into a Word file and printed them on cardstock.
Could you tell me which downey football game is the best
Peter, what card stock did you use for the FACS and team sheets?
I use 110 lb. cardstock from Staples. But you can get the same cardstock at Wal-Mart for cheaper than what Staples charges.
@@petermiller6677 Thank you Peter. I appreciate it.
I enjoy the game very much. This video-not so much.
