GG !!! thank you so much for reminding me of my youth and my early days with computers. I don't think I've ever managed to land the plane. I feel like I'm going to do it again. Best regards from France. 👏👏👍👍
Considering the technical limitations of the Vic-20 this was quite an achievement! The sound of the propellor and bomb sounds are as convincing as you could on the game...and the way they made the screen shake if you crash was extremely impressive for its time!
I had this it was on a cassette with I think 3 other games on it one of them was a frog game can't remember the rest I know they were unexpanded one of the other programs was called type a tune .
@@dtox2331 I've found what it was. It was a cassette with Race, Hoppit, Type-A-Tune, and Blitz. It just said "Free Vic-20 Programs" on the side, and looks very basic. No pictures, just the instructions on the inlay. I thought we used to play this Frogger one, but we must have played another much better one.
I have an SD2IEC that I swap between the Vic-20 and my C64s to load games. I have a couple of tape decks and a 1541, but I don't use those much now I can load from SD card.
@@necronom ah I see, thanks for the info, I don't have the original game, I play it on a pc. I've got to level/frame 5. Do you know what is the highest level you can get to?
Would you be okay with me taking a 10 second sample of your video for a top 100 I am making, I no longer own this game but have fond memory's of it and would like to add it to my list, I'll also credit you for it.
@@necronom Cheers, it's for every system I've played my first being the VIC 20, I've got 70 done thus far, I hope to get it done by the end of the month but I keep tweaking it.
The first game I had on my Vic 20. That brought back some memories.
same here

The crash effect is quite impressive for a VIC.
Good times I remember that Christmas well. Couldn't help but be envious of mates games on the spectrum though.
I miss this game so much

That's exactly what I had. I can't remember which version of Frogger it was, and I can't remember what else was on it.
It was blitz type a tune frogger and I can't remember the other one

@@necronom race aye that's what it was mate
I played that 2 days ago on a Real VIC-20 equipped with a tapuino. Great game!

I actually bought the tape itself it also had a game called hoppit on. Which is just a frogger rip off
When I was 15 I coded a similar game in Turbo Pascal 🤣
So simple yet so addictive !!.
Spent a life time playing that. 👍
Does anyone know if it's possible to complete Blitz or not and how many levels their are?
There isn't an ending. It just keeps on going until you crash. You can see the program listing for it, as it's written in Basic.

@@visitor5230 No idea. Probably not more than 5. I mostly played it around 1982 apart from doing this video, so I can't remember how far I got.

Yeah, no problem. I'd like to see a top 100. See if I'm missing some good games I haven't tried yet.

@@necronom The video will be up tonight mate, thanks again for the footage, my copy died years ago.
