I have been following Mr. Dahiya's lecture for NTA NET. All the lectures are very impressive and full of information although in this particular lecture sir is talking more about literary traits than writes and their work.
During the early 20th century we see the litterateurs responded Ezra Pound's call 'Make it new' and also got inspired by John Barth's article 'The Literature of Exhaustion'. As a result they ran after experimental literature. Doing so they did get isolated from the readers excepting some specialists. The people could no longer enjoy literature as they did earlier in 19th century, though superb literary pieces came out through Eliot, Lawrence, Verginia Woolf, James Joyce and many others. But how many people could understand The Waste Land or A Room of One's Own... or Ulysses? What's the outcome of good literature, if they don't get readers?
Excellent Contribution. Thanks for such an informative knowledge about literature in English. Please upload a lecture on the Gothic area of literature.
Twenty first century literature is a mixture of registers, philosophy and history can not be separated from literature: Aristotle(the real purpose) as the meanings of name symbolise. Post modernism can not be separated from classical literature.Really a literary lecture.
