The heavy Mandalorian is one of the most common figures, here in Portugal. If anyone is in Lisbon area and is interested, there (at least two weeks ago) are still some in the Disney store at Colombo. The new version with cartoonish painting is in most FNAC's.
I think the Endor Leia is the best one. She comes with a lot of options for what look you want to have, like if you remove the helmet and poncho you still have a really good Leia that can fit into really any scenario.

I’m new to collecting these black series, can someone explain to me what the colors mean? Like I’ve seen blue, red, green, purple, and at first I thought it meant movie/series but I’ve seen for example Jar Jar Binks in orange and seen the Mandalorian in orange, seen Cara Dune in red I believe, I’m just a bit confused, lol nonetheless if I see a character I like I get lol just wanna be a bit informed, liked the Video, just subbed thank you!
The Black Series used to mainly be the red/black box color scheme with one consistent numbering system. Starting in mid 2020, they started releasing figures in a new style of box. The current boxes differentiate movies and series. I agree that The Phantom Menace color looks similar to The Mandalorian, but The Phantom Menace is a brighter shade. Red is Attack of the Clones, Blue is The Empire Strikes Back, Green is Return of the Jedi, Yellow is Star Wars The Clone Wars, Purple is Star Wars Rebels, etc. There was also originally an orange line in 2013/2014 and a blue line in 2014/2015 and from 2015-2020 was the red and black boxes. -Justin

Good list. I've been lucky enough to have all of these, either purchased at or below retail. R2-D2 is also an excellent figure to have even if it's not quite to scale.
I too thought about R2, but the best option for R2d2 is the Bandai model kit. It is super accurate and you can not only customize it, but also choose to get it with other droids depending on which model you choose: Gold-plated C3po, R5, BB8.
Boba almost made the list but I’m thinking the new ROTJ version coming out soon is gonna slaughter the current one. R2 is solid as well but just a little out of scale if you ask me. Definitely in need of an update. Thanks for watching! -Nate
I just started collecting in August and I have 7/10 of these figures, and I'm pretty happy with myself. I picked up the Heroes of Endor set so I didn't end up getting Hoth Leia or Bespin Han, and I got the single release Chewbacca, so technically I kinda got 10/10
Agreed, I think we will see a Clone Wars version at some point though or possibly another rerelease of the Phantom Menace version. Definitely wouldn’t pay the after market prices on that guy. Thanks for watching! -Nate
When does Jedi Luke (w tunic) re release. It is the one black series figure I feel I must have in my small black series collection. I don't want to pay over 100 for him though.
Great List Nate. I would possibly add Boba Fett ESB 40th wave as he is up on a few sites for retail. Granted his articulation is dated but the sculpt is still really well done and is holding up imo. May the Force Be with You!!
True! I thought about putting boba on the list but ultimately I kept him off due to the impending updated ROTJ figure. May the Force be with you! -Nate
I dont think this should be called an ESSENTIAL list. I believe obi wan, palps and darth maul are more essential than a hoth rebel. Not moaning about the quality of the figures you chose though, some absolute stunners in there. Keep up the great videos dude
Well that’s why it’s an essential video for new collectors with the rule being the figures have to be available for retail price. Of course there are plenty of characters like Maul and Palpatine that are essential for the collection, however, they will cost you quite a bit over retail. So that’s why they weren’t on the list. Thanks for watching! -Nate
@@OutOfTheBasement ah, retail price, missed that. Thats what happens when your trying to get a star wars figure fix during the day and got two kids jumping all over you lol.
Hasbro struggles with Harrison Ford's likeness so I don't recommend any SWBS Han Solo's issued to date (look like Dan Akroyd rather than Ford imo) although the recent Endor trench coat issue is the best Hasbro's issued to date imo. I'd have to include the Rebel Trooper, Jabba the Hutt, Dewback w/Sandtrooper III, Lando Skiff Guard, GM Tarkin & Luke (Hoth Pilot Gear) but I only collect OT figs. Good list though as opinions vary.
Oh, and did you say "absolute marginal improvement" for the stormtrooper? I have to disagree with you...this new Mandalorian stormtrooper is far superior to the first one in terms of movie accuracy, articulation, aesthetics, and realism.
Nice video, I'll be saving this for sure. I have 0/10 so far. Lol. I just started to collect, but there is no method to the madness. I'll definitely will have to get these figures that you mentioned.

-Justin
Nice thank you for your response.
Nice list I'm a newbie to the black series . Won't the re release affect the value for those who are collecting for a profit in a future?
We don't care about value, we care about things looking cool on shelves. If you want value, invest in gold or perhaps the stock market. Thanks for watching! -Justin
Lets say I have no budget what is the absolute best one I should get? I only collect lego but I kinda want to get into black series and I know nothing about it yet
If you were just getting one to start out, I’d say the Empire Strikes Back Darth Vader. That’d be my pick. -Justin
@@OutOfTheBasement ok I'll see what it's like I'd also like the bad batch too but idk if they are out yet or not.
i just started collecting today, I got Plo Koon new one with robe, and the phase 1 clone trooper new one
Nice! Welcome to the community! Those are so excellent figures to start with. Thanks for watching! -Nate
Nice!! Thanks for the upload! Wanted to do i just started collecting and already got the vader and mando.
Nice! That's a great start. Thanks for watching! -Justin
Wow I have every figure you just announced. Yesterday I was able to find the dirty stormtrooper and got 2
Good job because they're all great figures! Are you talking about the Remnant Stormtrooper? -Justin
@@OutOfTheBasement yeah, I’ve been trying to look for him and I didn’t know he was a target exclusive. My target never has black series or they have the shitty ones
Newbie here I’m thinking of only getting original characters I have two Luke’s coming carded I have lando , Han Solo , two Vader’s a emperor guard , chewie, and a shadow trooper the transparent one I’m going to take him back tho is that a good idea ? And get a figure who was in the movies not video games
We personally love the Shadow Trooper! It's a great figure. -Justin
This is my essential list in no order

Thanks for watching, Daniel! -Justin
This video helped out a lot, thank you💪🏻
Glad we could help out! 👍🏻 -Justin
@@OutOfTheBasement I am probably gonna pick 8 out of 10 of those figures on the list👍
@@vjmout3410 Nice!
dorkside toys does a good job on preorders as well... great list , Nate. keep up the good work... i think i might add a old man ben and a r2 unit. theres been soo many good figures over the years (dengar, cara dune, snowspeeder luke, rio durant) its definitely not easy to pick, but you did really well.... stay safe and happy christmas!!!
Good picks as well David! Thank you and Happy Christmas to you as well! Take care. -Nate
I want a mando is beskar do I go for the carbon is it accurate? Or do I go notmal black series?
Normal version is the accurate representation of the character! -Justin
@@OutOfTheBasement Dear Justin, thank you for the reply I appreciate it as I’m just learning my way with the Black Series. Thank you for the hard work you continuously put in to provide us all with fun, educational and exiting content.
Best wishes.
@@OutOfTheBasement exciting*
I would have added the first order stormtrooper black series ,very kool figure but overall pretty good list!!
It's great that they fixed the elbow articulation with the recently released one! -Justin
Great list, Nate! I love a lot of these, and I’d love to own em
Thanks Norsky! Appreciate ya! -Nate
Good list. I've been lucky enough to have all of these, either purchased at or below retail. R2-D2 is also an excellent figure to have even if it's not quite to scale.
Yeah I do like R2 as well but agreed. It’s way to small. I think we need an update. Thanks for watching! -Nate
I too thought about R2, but the best option for R2d2 is the Bandai model kit. It is super accurate and you can not only customize it, but also choose to get it with other droids depending on which model you choose: Gold-plated C3po, R5, BB8.
Oh I agree, but as far as black series is concerned, still gotta have R2d2
@@davidrgjones1707 agreed, I also have the Bandai model kit R2 and its a perfect scale for Black Series C3PO and Luke
what is you favorite figure
Of all time? It’s the orange pauldron Sandtrooper! -Nate
Is buying online better because I have no shop that sale black series near me
YEP
100% our philosophy is to pre-order everything you want and if you find it in the wild, just cancel your order. -Justin
@@OutOfTheBasement thank you
Definitely have to add Boba Fett and any R2-D2 you can get a retail.
Boba almost made the list but I’m thinking the new ROTJ version coming out soon is gonna slaughter the current one. R2 is solid as well but just a little out of scale if you ask me. Definitely in need of an update. Thanks for watching! -Nate
Hey! Do knock offs of black series figures exist? I found some for cheap and I am wondering if I coukd get scammed
Yes they certainly exist! A good rule is if it seems to good to be true, it is a fake. -Justin
Opinions on Jedi Knight Luke skywalker?
The Walmart exclusive? Pretty decent figure! Our favorite Luke is the one that comes in the Luke & Yoda 2-pack. -Justin
Thanks for this the only black series figure I have is the shock trooper (it was my brothers)
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching! -Nate
i just started collecting snow speeder luke was my first
That is a fantastic figure! Welcome to collecting. 👍🏻 -Justin
1-Palpatine
2-Captain Rex
3-Dewback
4-Greivous
5-Zuckuss
6-Luke jedi Knight
7-Mandalorean First edition
8-Darth vader 40 aniv.
9-Tusken Raider
10-Ezra Bridger
11- Ahsoka Tano
12-Droid Zonda
13-Bly commander
14-K2so
15-etc...
A lot of fantastic picks! Thanks for watching. -Justin
I just started collecting in August and I have 7/10 of these figures, and I'm pretty happy with myself.
I picked up the Heroes of Endor set so I didn't end up getting Hoth Leia or Bespin Han, and I got the single release Chewbacca, so technically I kinda got 10/10
Nice! Looks like I was pretty much right on the money then. Thanks for watching! -Nate
Another essential is the Boba Fett, you can still get the 40th anniversary version at some places
I'd almost say wait for that sweet looking deluxe Boba that is coming! -Justin
I have 7 of the 10! Except my Hoth Leia is the 40th Carded release
Not the black series box
Still a solid figure! What are the three that you don't have? -Justin
@@OutOfTheBasement the Gamorrean guard, which i passed up 2x at retail... doh! The Chewy and C3 2 pack... and Captain Rex
Great idea for a video! This will help out some people for sure.
Thanks Victor! -Nate
I got Wolfe for like $30 in a comic book type store.
Nice, he's a great looking figure! Thanks for watching, Random Man. -Justin
Everyone should buy two rebel hoth troopers.
It’s mandatory! Thanks for watching! -Nate
Darth Maul is too expensive nowadays and I just started black series
Agreed, I think we will see a Clone Wars version at some point though or possibly another rerelease of the Phantom Menace version. Definitely wouldn’t pay the after market prices on that guy. Thanks for watching! -Nate
@@OutOfTheBasement yessir. I’m a movie guy and don’t collect animated Star Wars stuff. You think clone wars maul will work with movie stuff?
@@mctapper6172 Definitely, the other animated stuff is made to look more “realistic” to match the line.
A rancor would be awesome
Lol! True! -Justin
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it! -Justin
Great list - thanks!
Thanks for watching! -Nate
Nice list!👍
I would also add the Boba fett and Jedi Luke.😊
Great choices as well! Thanks for watching! -Nate
When does Jedi Luke (w tunic) re release. It is the one black series figure I feel I must have in my small black series collection. I don't want to pay over 100 for him though.
@@samuelmackenzie5267 I believe he’s in stock on Walmart’s website right now!
@@OutOfTheBasement can it be shipped internationally?
@@samuelmackenzie5267 Great question, I’m honestly not sure.
-Nate
@@OutOfTheBasement Valid point. I personally cant wait for the ROTJ fett. 👊
Great list, Nate!
Thanks for watching Beau! -Nate
Got the Vader for about $15 on Black Friday. Major steal
Nice! That’s an excellent price for that figure! Thanks for watching! -Nate
Good vid Nate.
Thank you! -Nate
Have you seen the new bo katan! that figure is awesome!
Yep! She looks awesome, can’t wait to get her! Thanks for watching. -Nate
I just have to say I spent most of the time looking behind you at your figure display 😂
That’s okay! In a couple weeks you’ll have a nice close look at it!
It’s all good! Appreciate you watching and commenting!
Great picks and respect your opinion about The best Han in the line but I of course disagree. Thanks for watching! -Nate
Oh, and did you say "absolute marginal improvement" for the stormtrooper? I have to disagree with you...this new Mandalorian stormtrooper is far superior to the first one in terms of movie accuracy, articulation, aesthetics, and realism.
Yeah that was poor word choice on my part. I completely agree with you. Thanks as always for watching, Joel! -Nate
new storm trooper is simply the biggest upgrade we got. I am glad I got 10x of them
I noticed that too, but I figured he meant to say "monumental" improvements lol
Nice video, I'll be saving this for sure. I have 0/10 so far. Lol. I just started to collect, but there is no method to the madness. I'll definitely will have to get these figures that you mentioned.
Well we appreciate you checking out the video! Take care and good luck. -Justin
I have all of these!! All great figures, except that #1 👀👀👀👀 but I'm not gonna be negative, great vid 😁
Whoa! Haha that’s a spicy take. But hey we all have different opinions and that’s cool! Thanks for watching! -Nate
Yo this video is the best I’m new haha, now where do you buy these!!!!!????
Walmart, Target, Amazon, Big Bad Toy Store, Dorkside Toys, etc. -Justin
