I just wanna say you've got a really gentle and calming voice!! Its really therapeutic hearing you talk and watching you making these beautiful cakes!!! Hee love your channel!!!!
lol thank you so much +Orange Neouz ! That's helpful feedback as my fall back plan if cake decorating doesn't pan out is counselling / psychotherapy lol so it's good to hear!! ;D
such a fun and elegant cake. I love that it is perfect for a child's party or an adult's birthday. The color of the top layer could be anything-also making this such a versatile yet stunning design.
thanks +Danee Kaplan ! That's right, you can really make it any sprinkle colour. I'm on the hunt for some red and green sprinkles, this would make an awesome Christmas themed cake if you can find the sprinkles x)
great video! I just have a question, does the top tier have a 6" board underneath when you place it on the sprinkled tier or Is the bread/cake just really solid that it sits right on top of the sprinkled cake? thank you!
Another beautiful cake thx a lot I love ur videos and how u confident and relaxed and u have fun with what u doing ! Can u plz tell me if I'm doing a cake for 80 people is it ok a 2 tier 10inch and 8inch ( 5 inch high) Or what do u think ?
Thank you so much +Heba Salama for the lovely feedback :) are the 8 inch and the 10 inch 5 inches high each? If so, that will be more than enough for 80 people :)
Thanks for sharing all your creativity - you do great work. One question - how do you avoid bulging in the sides? Do you ever leave your cakes set after filling the layers? Thanks
hey hun, thanks for the comment! Yes I do, once the cake is crumb coated, I move it to the fridge so it has time to set. After that, I apply the final coat, and allow the cake to set in the fridge again. it also depends on your frosting though. if your frosting is too soft and your cake too dense and heavy, it will bulge all the same.
Rosie's Dessert Spot thanks for the response - can you direct me to a video you’ve done on buttercream? I suspect you’re right on the consistency of my buttercream - again, thank you so much for sharing all your knowledge and creativity. I just love your work :) oh! And happy new year! :)
Thank you so much for this. I am going to be making this and then i want put a one direction cake topper on top of the top tier. Can you post the ingredients please to how much u use to do 3 cakes for each tier please? Really want to do this for my daughters birthday
wonderfully beautiful! I have a request is there anyway you could do a full tutorial on filling crumb coating and final smooth ice a square cake? I am trying to learn, my passion is cake decorating. I am also one of the weird people who LOIVE watching people frost cakes. I have trouble with square cakes and unfortunately there are not many videos dedicated to frosting a square cake..if there is any. they are fast forwarded through and not able to see techniques and stuff. if possible to make a video along those lines I would be so grateful. thank you so much for sharing your talent with all of us.
you may have to first coat the fondant lightly with water with a brush to make it a little sticky (or whatever your preference is for fondant work), but you'd want to be careful with that. Or it might work directly if you use homemade marshmallow fondant. Fondant is usually used for looks, if youre covering the tier with sprinkles anyway, probably easiest (and tastiest) to stick with buttercream or italian buttercream (less sweet).
thanks +Rula Zakaria for the awesome feedback :) the cake I used is tripple the recipe in this video, you just need to times it by 3 (you may get a little bit extra but I usually just make the excess into cupcakes x): th-cam.com/video/FV47F4qtBeE/w-d-xo.html
I am working on making this cake. If I were to put the sprinkles on, could I store it in the freezer for a few days? or would all the sprinkles come off as they thawed out?
Oh God, I'm going to try and do this for my daughters bday. It seems easy as longest I have the right things , quick question I can get the buttercream at a grocery store like Walmart?
Do you make your own icing?? If so how? I wanna make this cake for my daughters 4th birthday. And why use the straws? I see people do that. And I don’t get why.
I had a question as far as the video goes. Cake looks good and all that but I'm more focused on the video aspect of it. What program do you use to record and what to edit. If you could post the camera and audio device that would be super helpful as well. Thank you and that cake looks delicious!
hola muy lindas tus tortas, una consulta que es la pasta roja que le pones es buttercream o es otra cosa? mi pregunta es porque la agarras con las manos y no se desarma
I bake my husband a birthday cake every year, looks like this is next years cake, although I LOVE your color I may have to change top tier color for a male birthday. Thanks!
Hi Rosie. i am new to baking . When the cake is resting in the freezer where do u place the buttercream icing . is it just fine to leave it on the countertop until we are done icing the whole cake. thanks
Hey I was just wondering if you have a tutorial on how you made the cake mixture ? Also, how deep is your 8 inch cake pan ? I was planning on buying one
Hi Tasnim, I use 3 to 4 inch tall cake tins. I do have a playlist with recipes if you are interested in maybe checking those videos out: th-cam.com/video/5YgJr6TzCo0/w-d-xo.html
So beautiful, what a great idea!! Just have a quick question, after the cake is decorated, does it need to be kept in the fridge or can I keep it out, also, for how long would it keep on room temp if that's possible? (Few questions... :) ) Many thanks!!!
Thank you +Chrati1 ! I would keep this cake refrigerated. Buttercream is stable at room temperature, but I don't like to keep it out for too long all the same, I wouldn't leave a buttercream out on the counter for longer than overnight. I know many forums and other cake decorators say you can leave them out for about 2 days or so, but I''d be too scared to leave it out for longer than a day personally. This is a super helpful thread, it might gi you a better idea :) www.cakecentral.com/forum/t/672367/how-long-can-you-leave-buttercream-out
Is the red cake covered with buttercream? how is it possible to handle and grab it with 2 hands holding the cake like that ? Is it frozen? curious to know. tha k you so much. lovely video as always
Thank you +Tania Chen! I lelft my ake in the freezer for a good 20 minutes, so the frosting was able to harden enough to be able to pick up and hold it in that way :) you can leave it in the freezer for eve longer if you like. It is super sturdy!
+Rosie's Dessert Spot thank you so much for replying....Help me so much. ..I do have cake instagram too more than welcome to visit dear. Jaycees_collection. I made cake for 12 years and being a chef for 10 years.... so in love with your video
Hi +Sharon Crown, I designed this one and had it cut out for me. I will have a machine soon so I can do it from home myself and start selling them online. I will have the link in the description box once I do ;)
Hi, I'm making a birthday cake for my mom and I was wondering what you would recommend as far as food coloring goes if you're using a chocolate frosting
HI Alicia, thank you for your comment :) I used a spatula, a bench scraper, a turn table and a large bowl for the sprinkles. You will also need a cake board (2 actually, one 2 inches bigger than the bottom cake and the other exactly the same size as the top cake) and extra thick straws or dowels. That's all I can think of tool wise that are absolutely necessary :)
Hi +Olivia McKay, thank you! I buy my straws from the bargain store, a pack of 50 for $2.50, so they are just regular super thick drinking straws :) don't be fooled though, they are super sturdy.
Hi Rosie, I am making this cake tomorrow for my niece. I just wanted to find out what icing recipe you used. The ones I have tried are not as "sturdy" as yours. Would you be able to give me the recipe? Thank you! 😊

Hi +Chloe Gardner, yes you can do the same thing on fondant instead :) You just need to brush it with water or better yet zap it with a steamer until it's nice and tacky.
Hey +Elvira Villanueva, the bottom tier was about 4 inches tall and the top tier was 3 - 3 1/2 inches tall. I used 2 cakes for each, so 2x 8 inch and 2x 6 inch cakes. Happy baking! Let me know how you go :D x
Hey +reine chaibane, thank you! The buttercream recipe I use is two parts icing sugar to one part butter, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract ad 2 to 3 tablespoons of milk. So for example if I have 250 grams of butter, then I add double (500grams) grams of icing sugar. Hope that helps!

Hi. AMAZING WORK! Is there a cake board between the tiers or you just stack the top tier without a cake board? Kindly assist. Thank.
Hi lovely, there is a cake board under the top tier :)
that way the dowels hit the board rather than piercing through the cake.

hi total newbie here and would love it if you could tell me what tools were used and a must for me to purchase to make this cake.. thank you!!
Hi Rosie, awesome cake! Where do you get your straws? Are they just general straws used for drinking or special cake straws? :)
Hi +Olivia McKay, thank you! I buy my straws from the bargain store, a pack of 50 for $2.50, so they are just regular super thick drinking straws :) don't be fooled though, they are super sturdy.
if you're in the US, It's called milkshake straws
Hi! Can I use some cream without butter? for ex. italian meringue?
Hi, I am making a similar cake for a friend but has to be made 2 days before her party. Where would you store the cake after completion? Thank you
What a beautiful cake? I love it. Thanks for sharing.
thanks for the lovely comment +Ornella Maraj
hi, i would like to ask how do u color red for SMBC, i have put so many food coloring, however it only like dark orange, not red red
Hi Rosie,
I am making this cake tomorrow for my niece. I just wanted to find out what icing recipe you used. The ones I have tried are not as "sturdy" as yours. Would you be able to give me the recipe?
Thank you! 😊
I LOVE your videos !! I had one question do you have the quantity for the cake ingredients for the pan sizes you used?
I'm always worried when I freeze a cake. Does freezing a cake affect the moisture/texture of the cake? Thanks, I've always wondered.
No.
for the Two Tiers are you using straws as colums to keep the top tier from sinking into the bottom tier
Hi, yes that is correct :) they work a charm.
Did you have the cake board under the second tier, or is it directly cake on cake?
Hi +Bryanne Wells, the 6 inch top tier is sitting on a cake board. When I was decorating I had the 6 inch board stuck onto a 12 inch so I could decorate it more easily.
You make it look sooooo easy💕💕💕👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
thanks u so much for sharing I was able to pull up my daughter's birthday cake. I love your idea.

Love it! Question could you use fondant instead of butter cream? Or would I need to add like an adhesive on it first?
Hi +Chloe Gardner, yes you can do the same thing on fondant instead :) You just need to brush it with water or better yet zap it with a steamer until it's nice and tacky.
HI Rosie this is really a nice cake. WIll try to do this. Can you tell me how high are the bottom and top tier??? Thank you.
Hey +Elvira Villanueva, the bottom tier was about 4 inches tall and the top tier was 3 - 3 1/2 inches tall. I used 2 cakes for each, so 2x 8 inch and 2x 6 inch cakes. I cut the 2x 8 inches in half so I had 4 layers of cake, whereas for the 6 inch cakes I just leveled them off and stacked one on top of the other so there were only 2 layers of cake, which is why it's a little shorter.
