Being a former USAF troop, it warms my heart to see the venerable C-130s in action. They used to haul us into and out of the hell holes of the world. No matter how bad it got, we knew that the C-130s would show up to take us home. And, they always did.
Been there done that. If you are not lead ship, it sucks because you are sucking in exhaust fumes from the guy in front of you. On top of that, if you are in an E-model, and inter-flying with H/J-models, they will leave you in the dust in a hurry.
Oh, I love the C-130. I hope they never quit making them. I do wonder how a safe MITO is affected by jet engines (i.e. B52s) versus turboprops (i.e. a C-130). Also, you might want to change the title. You've capture both a Minimum Interval Takeoff and what I assume is called a Minimum Interval Landing (MIL). If anything, the latter may take more skill since each plane that lands has to get off the runway quickly. Here is one with F-16s. th-cam.com/video/02k1LgpdRyI/w-d-xo.html
Wow! Never seen C-130s doing MITO - nice catch & great filming! Thx for sharing! Got a couple of 1/144 scale C-130Hs in stash; some good reference here :-)
Good stuff here. I have a Minicraft AC-130H that I'll turn into a straight H version (the gunship was on sale) and plan on getting a 130J-30 and an OOP WC-130J. Probably won't stop there.....
Thanks for your comment & same here: Got a couple of the Minicraft AC-130H's which one can build as regular H's without prob; the mould is for the H anyway. Got some extra decals so all set :-)
Pope Air Force North Carolina. They are hauling 82nd Airborne troops off to a jump somewhere. Was a very common site when I was there at Ft Bragg which is right next door
I was a Sargent in pope air force base in 1964.Those days C130H was painted in camouflage color and 4blade Allison turbo prop engine. I was taught to power up and engine run for oil and hydraulic leak. I went to Vietnam to do mail drop and injured army soldiers air carry. Those were the days..
Hey are C130 J.
Chile recibió de donación por parte de USA dos C130 H.
Gracias EEUU.

I love the smell of jet exhaust in the morning. Smells like freedom.
My dad was a pilot on Youngstown Air Reserve Station, he was Flight Lead.

These things fly over my house all the time. And quite low too. Safe to say we get an airshow 365 days of the year.

Youngstown, Ohio Air Reserve Station.
beatiful hercules models of the C 130. wOw karen
First! Oh yeh, btw, you get the coolest Air Force vids. I'm a fan.
Haha, thank you very much!
The later models of the C-130 have 6 bladed props because they said the airflow is a lot better than the old 4 bladed types.
The C-130s with the four bladed props fly over my house all the time. It does, in-fact, shake the house.
SUPER!
Beautiful!
Where is it??

jmpnjakflsh Once back in the late 70's for JTF Border Star, there was a night LALO jump from 30 C-130's. They deployed from Holloman A. F. B.
Sorry to say, that is not Pope AFB.
