5:26 Yes! That is the best way to make a glow that I've found to, so simple and quick I use a very light grey for most of the undercoat with a touch of my brightest white to the highest points for a little extra glow. I also found that for monitors/screens if you do a silver undercoat then use a dark green wash it looks believable
Oh Man, yes, Japanese conbin are next level. You can get anything there and a lot of it is healthy! Also, amazing necron colour scheme. That red inner glow is so cool.
I know this video was posted some months ago but i just meed to day great job on the video and especially the models the paint scheme looks absolutely amazing while still remaining simplistic, which is really hard to do! Great job
Should have watched this before I started with my Necrons! The glow is something I really didn't know how to do well but it's actually not that difficult. Your models came out amazing, btw!
Bro! You just got me into making a dark angles army and now you're tempting me to go back to my necron army.. I might paint up my shard of the void dragon in this scheme
Love a Lawson's!! Japanese convenient stores are GOATED!! Cant wait to go back to Japan next year! It cant come fast enough haha. Also great theme idea! I havent done a SW theme just yet. Votann were close to getting a desert storm trooper theme but went for a video game theme haha. My necrons are themed around Marvel and the Red Skull/Hyrda. Pretty much a "what if" scenario I am running with pertaining to the infinity gems. I definitely wasnt going to finish them by the launch of 10th but my 5k point army will be done by the launch of the Necrons new codex in winter
The white stripe down the center of the face? I use a thin layer of GW Corax White as a base - it has excellent coverage. Then I use some white along the top facing area to "highlight" it.
How did you apply the white ink? It looks like a pen that you're using. I'm afraid of doing it with a very thin white with a paint brush as I might mess up the whole blade!
First, loved this look. I have just started warhammer 40k and got my first set this week. Necrons ended up being my first army. Anyway to achieve this glowing chest effect with not using an airbrush?
Absolutely! You can just brush paint the red into the vents, and then dry brush the darker color over top, leaving the red inside. For the hanging guts on the overlord, the warden and the scorpek lord, just dry brush reds and oranges over the cables!
Oni giri... so Zoros move is named after food? Well Sanjin sadly just won the second place medal, Luffy being first. I love the color scheme. Great video man! I hope to be able to visit Japan one day
I’m definitely missing the “convenies” from my visit there. Also, I seriously got better help finding things in Japanese stores (with a massive language barrier) than my recent efforts here (U.S.) to find an air purifier at a big box retailer after literally asking 3 people, who could not give less of a s#!t.

Great tip!
Great idea w airbrushing the inner!!
Ain't nobody got time to try an' brush paint red into the ribbies of, like, a bajillion robot skeletons!
Such a great scheme! I think keeping the metallics monochromatic was definitely the right choice :)
So easy and so cool. Nice work
Thank you! Cheers!
These are great. I now have motivation to paint my Indomitus Necrons.
That's great! You got this!
Very cool necron scheme! Well done!
thanks! Quick and easy! (except for the hyperphase blades!) :)
These looks absolutely amazing, great job man!
Thank you! Cheers!
New here, and really liked that blast to the chest step. It is going to save a lot of time!

Thanks! Karagekun FOREVER!
Thanks for the tour of Japan. Didn’t expect it, but enjoyed it!
Thanks! I try to share a small fact about everyday life in Japan before each video.
orange color is fabulouse , epic !
Thanks!
This is exactly what I needed to elevate my paint schemes for my Necrons. Thank you 🙏🏼
Glad I could help!
I know this video was posted some months ago but i just meed to day great job on the video and especially the models the paint scheme looks absolutely amazing while still remaining simplistic, which is really hard to do! Great job
Thank you very much!
Now…….I need to repaint my 3k necron army. 😅
Me too mine have snow on them this is gonna suck
Really clean color scheme 👌.
Thank you! Cheers!
Should have watched this before I started with my Necrons! The glow is something I really didn't know how to do well but it's actually not that difficult. Your models came out amazing, btw!
Thanks! You could always try adding the glow now. Do a test on one of your completed models to see how it looks!

I want to paint that model so badly!
@@thehammerofwrath it will look amazing with this scheme, liquid metal with evil energy radiating out!

Karage-kun FTW!
Those Blades are great! They deserved that time effort! :D
Thanks! It will be a while before I tackle something like that again!
Great work, man!
Thanks a lot!
Pls post more often I dont even like necrons and now I'm gonna paint some. I like your videos 😂
I'm working on it! trying to make a video every week by yourself is challenging! :)
Does anyone know how to paint the white faces like that?

@@thehammerofwraththanks for the reply! What colour did you use for the staves? Looks like they have a blue hue?
That's Vajello shadow grey.
Nice vid! But what are the paints that you used so I can use them for my first necron army, (aka my first) :)
for the metallics, you can use leadbelcher and black in a 1:1 mix. then drybrush lightly with just leadbelcher.
Thanks@@thehammerofwrath
Those blades, mint!
Since you said you found a shop with non GW paints will we see more of that in the future?
Absolutely. My love affair with Vallejo has been rekindled!
Nice ❤
Thanks 🔥
this colour scheme reminds me a lot of certain themes in doom eternal
How did you apply the white ink? It looks like a pen that you're using. I'm afraid of doing it with a very thin white with a paint brush as I might mess up the whole blade!
I brushed gloss varnish into the recesses, then when that was dry simply used a fine brush to lay the ink into them.
Love the paint scheme! What white are you using on the weapons and and what yellow are you using to highlight?
I'm using GW corax white (it's not a pure white, but the coverage is good) and then yuriel yellow.

How much do you thin your paints for the airbrush
GW base paints are 2 parts thinner to 1 part paint. The layer paints are 1:1. Vallejo depends on the color; some of them are very thick and need 3:1!
I lived in Okinawa for several years and I've been to Japan a few times going again in 2024
Oni giri... so Zoros move is named after food? Well Sanjin sadly just won the second place medal, Luffy being first. I love the color scheme. Great video man! I hope to be able to visit Japan one day
wait 'til I tell you that "Naruto" translates directly to "the spiral fish cake that's in Ramen."

Salutations from Sapporo
Hello, HELLO! Has the weather turned cold there yet?
I’m definitely missing the “convenies” from my visit there. Also, I seriously got better help finding things in Japanese stores (with a massive language barrier) than my recent efforts here (U.S.) to find an air purifier at a big box retailer after literally asking 3 people, who could not give less of a s#!t.
yeah, it's a world of difference, and it's definitely spoiled me.
Sithron
Tried to move to Japan but my job doesn't transfer over 😢
that's a bummer, but I'm glad you'll have the chance to visit!
