This is a brilliant vid and something beginners should really be taught more is how to find the bottom of your swing arc by using different ball positions. It can fix or dial in someones issues immensely. It also teaches you advanced mechanics in a simple way. I like reading old golf books because there's ancient wisdom to be found there. In Ken Venturi's 'The Venturi system' he advocates always keeping the ball in the same position for all shots and then adjusting yourself to it when you're trying to hit a high or low shot. Interestingly he doesn't move the ball directly. For a high shot you move your right foot back an inch or so and grip up on the club. This changes your weight distribution and how much you 'whip' the club giving you the different trajectory (the opposite for a low/punch shot). From how i've practiced it this seems to have the same effect as moving the ball forwards but without introducing the change in left to right trajectory from striking the ball earlier or later you were showing just from moving the ball. Thanks for the 'eureka' moment with your explanation!
As a beginner, I started being way more consistent with all my clubs when I stopped listening to advice about where you need to place the ball and just kept it the same for every club except driver. I put the same swing on every club. The only thing I change is my upper body angle to the ground. I am thinking of getting or building one length irons, wedges and a hybrid but I don't really want to buy new clubs right now.
I play all of my clubs forward and hit really high and Hold most greens ,can’t play middle ball position causes Me to hit hooks .supposed to get my First set of Takomo’s tomorrow . Enjoy Your playing Videos!🤙
I learnt to play on a clay course. My first 2 years it was very dry and hard. I learnt to play a little back with irons, 3 woods off the deck and chipping. I can play lush courses though where the ball sits up and begs to be spanked. I can move the ball forward then and love to hit high bombs.
This does nothing for me. Now, go down to the local driving range, and pick someone off of the parking lot, or a golf course, and let them do this test. Trained professionals are, trained. Most of us arn't.
Great video to see confirming numbers. I tend to place the ball too far forward for some clubs. I am working on that. Thanks.
I was always a little mystified about ball position. Well done. Cannot wait til my 101T arrive!

I move the ball often on a per shot situation. Lie angle, wind, landing zone. Lot of things that as a 12 handicap I probably shouldn't worry about 😂😅

Very interesting data. Nice shot making. So, Takomo Urban swag...including nice tour bag. Hopefully these aren't one-offs...
Dude is still rocking the berries and cream Victorian era good boy haircut.
Bro what 😂😂😂
I actually thought it was a very informative one this . I actually have no problem with 7 to sand wedge. It’s the others I get stuck on doing this
What golf shoes are you wearing for this video?
Great video
I do use ball positions to increase or decrease my draw
When are we going to get an obsidian shaft video
I want that hat. How do I get one?

You must go through golf shoes a lot especially when it starts raining with that swing
