I saw Luigi with John many times..My favorite Thunders band..In 1980 they played at Scorgies in Rochester , NY , my band opened , anyhow ,Luigi and Thunders had large hunting knifes on their belts ! ,,I never saw that before from a rcok band . One 30 minute set , GREAT !!
Really good description of Johnny's uniqueness. He's right that no one can sound like him. I've had to learn songs onstage too! But not with Thunders as the captain of the ship! Haha, close your eyes, here we go...
You're great Luigi! You explained it perfectly! My old boyfriend said those 50s Gibsons constantly went out of tune; he was constantly tuning it. Lovingly, I don't think Johnny bothered.
That's John..no one sounded like him or could they tried. It made Dee Dee Ramone so frustrated lol But that was just how it was with John He was unique
@@leahflower9924 you’re right! Poor Frankie Valli, he eventually got whacked by two Italian pay-per-kill and they didn’t even let him sing one note haha...
He's talking about channeling. Truly great artists, be they singers/musicians..., are a rare breed. It isn't possible to learn to sing like Billie Holiday or play guitar like Hendrix or Thunders because they themselves aren't aware of the supernatural power they are able to harness. It doesn't belong to them. They are the portals that are somehow able to transmit these energies from the spirit realm and channel them into the physical realm. The ancients always considered music to be one of the highest forms of magic
Well....lve been waiting for a story like this. .. I remember watching the Knots....Maxes and it's a nothing crowd...an Jerry Nolan is spying you guys from the cigarette machine.......he prolly tipped Johnny off about you, I saw The Knots once, and thought; " This guy should be w Johnny."....lt just made sense.
@@noname-yt7uf no Im going to watch many saints of Newark with my dad hopefully soon...my dad saw them filming the final sopranos Holstens scene back in the day

thats cool. they had style thats for sure
WELL SAID!! !!! SO TRUE ABOUT THE AMAZING UNIQUENESS OF JOHNNY;S STYLE OF PLAYING,!! ONE OF A KIND!!!

I know Johnny’s secret. Hold the guitar pick between your fore fingers, no on top or the side of finger. You get his swing off rhythm feel.
Luigi, you did great in describing your legendary band mate.
I can't wait to see the whole film. Great stuff !
That's right the fabulous Johnny thunders!
I would love 2 see that full show
Looking forward to the film
I once said to a friend "it sounds like he's playing with a hoof". Your wild animal remark reminded me of that
"his style was like a wounded animal crying out for help" I dont think anyone could have summed it up better
I've also heard Thunders guitar sound as the sound of NYC taxi cab horn sounds on a guitar.
We NEED this JOUNNY JOHNNY JOUNNY !!!!!!#@ Pease Paul
I feel like Luigi's how Johnny Thunders would've looked ca now had he stayed away from drugs

When is it going to be out? Thanks man, you are a legend.
Nice interview
Luigi 🎐
This is so precious
What's happened to the movie can I buy it?
Nice comments about Johnny.
Thank you Luigi 🎶cool story
LEGEND
Thanx, great interview, when can we see the film ?
Love it! 👌

johhny pissed him off.and dee dee broke his guitar.johnny dind't gife a f.. lol
Gg jezus God i know the whole story
All old friends of mine
wow, so dee dee waanted to sound like JT(?)
It may explain why dee dee used to play a couple of jt songs
@@jaimemcgr27 Dee Dee could never play guitar like Johnny, nobody could, but Dee Dee is the guy who wrote Chinese Rocks.
@@seancurran6727 yeah, right. Just was wondering if that's one of the reasons why Dee Dee played JT songs.
And if that's what frustrated him!(?)
Is the film out????
Great luigi! :-)
More!
He really didn't need to hold his nose to sound like Johnny😂, a damn wig and he'd look just like him lol.
GREAT !!!
Lou, you can blow up a Marshall stack with your hair! Too cool brother!
He should have played some badass mafioso in The Sopranos, this geezer...
Exactly! 🔊
He turned it down and they went with Frankie Valli instead lol
@@leahflower9924 you’re right! Poor Frankie Valli, he eventually got whacked by two Italian pay-per-kill and they didn’t even let him sing one note haha...
He even has the name: "Luigi Scorcia".
Luigi babe......nice, shout out to mMJ!
The video buffers towards the end of the video
Tremendous.

Most people fail when they try to cover Hendrix
Yes 'a wounded animal crying out for help'. I've always said Johnny made sqwawks and squeaks but yeah... A wounded animal 💡💡💡
Paul is this movie still happening?
luigi needs a good agent....should be in movies...cool guy

another JT fiasco.....as to why he was a true punka......nice! Thought Luigi was a reincarnation at first. thanks, always great to hear a RnR story..
I love how this guy talks, not just the accent but his expressions as well.
Does it remind you of any shows like maybe the one with Stevie van zandt.....
@@leahflower9924 haha hugely...did you watch the spin off movie with gandolfinis son? I haven't seen it yet.

Better than the shit coming out of some Motel room in New Orleans.
Paul and Luigi keeping it classy
luigi....how in the hell you have never been in a movie is hard to figure....you need to tell steven van zandt to hook you up
I can't remember what movie, but I spotted him in a film recently. He must've been a cop extra at a bar, same pomp and everything haha
Reminds me of Joe pesci
They stopped at Ann arbor to meet up with the Stooges
This guy worked for Johnny for free haha. He never paid anyone after about 1980.
Who did you play for ? its not about money yo!!
Luigi is a cool cat, a political moron, but still a real cool cat...
