I saw Luigi with John many times..My favorite Thunders band..In 1980 they played at Scorgies in Rochester , NY , my band opened , anyhow ,Luigi and Thunders had large hunting knifes on their belts ! ,,I never saw that before from a rcok band . One 30 minute set , GREAT !!

Really good description of Johnny's uniqueness. He's right that no one can sound like him. I've had to learn songs onstage too! But not with Thunders as the captain of the ship! Haha, close your eyes, here we go...

I know Johnny’s secret. Hold the guitar pick between your fore fingers, no on top or the side of finger. You get his swing off rhythm feel.

He's talking about channeling. Truly great artists, be they singers/musicians..., are a rare breed. It isn't possible to learn to sing like Billie Holiday or play guitar like Hendrix or Thunders because they themselves aren't aware of the supernatural power they are able to harness. It doesn't belong to them. They are the portals that are somehow able to transmit these energies from the spirit realm and channel them into the physical realm. The ancients always considered music to be one of the highest forms of magic
