I love your down to earth explanations to make dyeing solutions make sense
Thank you so much. It was a great help
Hi I’m new to jacquard dyes and I’m trying to dye a silk play scarf for my 15 month old! I’m really confused I bought the dyes but how much water do I mix with it? Do you have a video of how to use the stock solution? It’s only a small 90x90cm iv seen people do them in huge tubs but it just seems a waste? Does it matter how big the tub is or how much water you use to how the colour is?
I understand so much more now, thank you!!🤓🥰
Thank you this is awesome!
How safe is the steam while cooking the dye pot? Honestly, that's another part of my fear that is keeping me from beginning using acid dye. I'm thinking of cooking outdoors for this reason. Do you know of any allergy warnings in regard to the Jacquard acid dyes? Additionally, do you know if cooler vs warmer weather will effect cooking outdoors?
Hi Rebecca, I’m a beginner yarn dyer. And how do you measure out the stock solution when you go to dye yarn? For instance I have recipe where I’m using 1/4, 1/8, and 1/16 tsp of powder dye to dilute in water to pour into my dye pot. How would I utilize dye stock in such small measurements?
Can i brush this solution on the fabric?
How long do dye stocks last?
Good question I’d like to know too!
Towards the end of the video she says she has some that are 4 months old or more, but she prefers to mix them fresh for batch dyeing.
In other videos I have seen her bring out very old dye stocks and the results looked great!
