I have a 2005 ms 460, no vibration problems, love that, along with my 034, I’m great full for Germany. Giving us Stihl, and Diesel engines

I was gonna say the same thing........I have no vibration problems with any of my Stihl's! And see what these husqvarna guys don't understand is that if it wasn't for Stihl you wouldn't have chainsaws in the first place

when my dad moved to Idaho he had a wood burning stove but never had the knowledge or equipment to cut his own wood so he just bought them cords at a time. He then met a old Korean war vet who had been cutting down trees essentially his whole life. He ended up selling my dad a saw (think it was a small like 028 or something at first) my dad then bought a old square body and put a cattle cage on the back. Growing up I helped my dad a whole lot with gathering and cutting wood. Anyways long story short, the Korean war vet family friend sold my dad a ms 460 mag that my dad ended up putting the 54mm big bore kit on. Fast forward some years later and I inherited the saw to cut my own firewood, and a funny tidbit is the Fire Department I work at has an old ms 460 mag rescue saw on one of the engines so I knew how to run it real well out of the gate lol. Sadly the cylinder has some scouring so I will have to try and take it apart and replace with another cylinder kit at some point. Love the video. That thing rips!

I love seeing the diversity of saws on your channel my friend. I’ve never been much of a stihl guy, but hey, if the price is right I’m game! Thank you for all the knowledge you share. Really helped me learn a lot about my saws, and they keep multiplying😂

Came out like 22 years ago. So it sure has vibration compared to new stuff. I built an 026 everything brand new a few years back with a ported muffler and all. Nothing i would use everyday. It's like a classic car or a hotrod. Fun to have. 261 cm is the deal these days. 👍 cheers from sweden.

That is a nice looking, and running MS460. My first go round with an aftermarket big bore was on a MS460. I was trying to match the performance of an 064. It didn't happen, the saw has set on the shelf for a long time, I was planning on porting an OEM cylinder and swapping out the big bore, but when I bought my first ms461 and ported that I lost interest in the 460 and kept running 064's. I would not recommend bending that Stihl ES light bar like that, they have milled out grooves in them and doing that causes a long divot to form in the aluminum plate covering those grooves, I own several that have done that. I prefer to take the clutch cover off to put the chain back on and adjust the chain tension. I always throw chains too when limbing with a 32" bar, keeping the chain adjusted properly helps, that's one thing to be mindful of with long bars.

Like Tinman, I like e'm all but haven't had any "stihls" (excluding trimmers and blowers) until March last year when I got a holzfforma g660 pro clone saw. And this March I actually had my local dealer order me an ms250 lol. Just because I've never ran one and been hearing how their one of, if not the best clamshell homeowner saw. Dealer also said stihl discontinued them and is only selling remaining stock.
Have to say, with a muffler mod, it's a nice little limbing saw and seems like it would be great for light firewood duty!

Hi Tinman. A rich condition on a saw (as far as i know) can be caused by a wrongly set metering lever (as you said) or by the needle that is not sealing well. Greetings from Italy!

I've got a stock 460 that I got new in 2005, and I've cut many Bazillion cords of firewood over the years with it until my carpal tunnel got too bad, I do still have it though.

With them stihl light bars exspecly the 32s you got to keep the chain alot tighter then with a standard bar just because there a bit floppy.

I’m thinking that you’ll always be throwing chains with the chain THAT loose. Just look at the sag it has when the chain gets a little heat in it.
