Thanks to the internet, your song and your pow wow has reached Australia and touched my spirit. I am Plains Cree and am disconnected from my people. Thanks to this footage I feel closer to my land and my people
Every time I watch pow wows I feel a sense of happiness ,sadness, beautifulness. Also I am watching this during the Coronavirus Pandemic. It’s super crazy.
The Gathring of Nations grand entry brings the people together. It's a way to bring everyone here on Earth with our ancestors in the Spirit World to honor what the Great Spirit has given us through dancing, singing, drummming, prayers, & fellowhship.
Wow, this is cool! The navajo nation really helped me when I was homeless when i was younger. You will always go with me in my spirit. Greetings from Mexico!
So beautiful to watch. Gave me goosebumps. Such togetherness of many different tribes but joining as one nation. My respect goes out to all the many American Indians.
Latino from NM with Mescalero Apache blood on my great grandmother's side. When I hear the drum beat and as I watch this gathering, I feel my heart well up with reverence and awe. This is truly the United (First) Nations. Respect to all Indigenous people.
I have been present for several Gathering Of Nations. But this entry is my favorite the pride Mr. Stewart displays while carrying the Eagle Staff makes me say ITS A WONDERFUL DAY TO BE NATIVE. YAKAMA NATION citizen right here thanks you.
CHEROKEE NATION! COMANCHE NATION! CHOCTAW NATION! My heart is forever with my people!!! I hope to attend a Gathering of Nations Pow Wow soon! It has been so long since I have been to a pow wow in Joseph Oregon at Chief Joseph days when I was a child! I will forever be proud to be Cherokee, Comanche and Choctaw. PENDLETON OREGON!!!!Much love from your neighbors in grande ronde valley!
I just asked whether we from East Coast were in attendance. Are we invited or know about this - or East Coast does not stay informed? If National, I hope that we ALL, have opportunity to participate.
I'm currently learning Lakota, I'm not Lakota but I frew up around many of them and even if its not in my blood I'm very proud that I get to learn not only about Lakota but the Native American culture as a whole. I cant wait to learn more about such an awesome and amazing culture
This particular song and pow wow bring me to choking back on tears no matter how many times I watch it. I only have 9% Native in me from Latin America/Carribean but it's amazing how hearing something of the indigenous peoples stirs my emotions. Similar to when I hear songs from the cultures of my other bloods. It's a very powerful feeling.
I enjoyed the POW WOW years back when it was in Halifax Nova Scotia. I wish it would come back, I would for sure take my grandkids to enjoy that experience.
I moved away from home and looked up songs that reminded me of home. This came up and I’m Navajo, I now live in south louisiana and these songs are the best.
The singing ....if u close ur eyes you could imagine a past world wild ,fierce, beautiful, unspoiled, connected with nature, simple ....my respects for the first people in America...
Love The pow wow drumming! It was aw some all the beautiful out fits all the art work and the time it takes to make these,I am not native but love hearing the pow wow drum makes me wanna dance
My Uncle lived in Albuquerque, NM and when I was very little (back in the 80's), he would go to see them (Navajo) and all their traditions. I loved when my Uncle would come to visit and share all the wonderful stories. THESE PEOPLE ARE BEAUTIFUL and deserve MUCH RESPECT!!!
Thank you for enduring and strengthening each other for future generations ❤️ I only have a small amount of Native American blood, but have always been proud of it and the brave nations.
hello. new here from India. being a tribal myself this interests me a lot and i want to learn more...so a few questions- different tribes are also known as nations? different tribes have different dresses/patterns, dances and different languages/dialects or are they quite similar? what are the different tribes/nations present here? Also May your tribes grow and your cultures flourish.
+karasunocrows each tribe is a sovereign political entity. So yes they are literally nations unto themselves. They all have their own traditions, including languages, but these at the pow wow are shared.Native Americans were and are all over both north and south america. Here at GON its mostly American and Canadian tribes numbering in the hundreds. I myself am Diné/Apache/Haida/Tlingit. My daughter is Diné/Apache /Haida/Tlingit/ Fort Peck Assiniboine & Sioux /Molalla/Chugach . She is quite the mix.
I can't stop crying. What a proud and beautiful people and to remember and still see the injustice done to you is heartbreaking. Seeing you stand in solidarity an beauty dancing and singing keeping tradition alive. I am blessed to have come across this video. Thank you

RedGryyn Thank you. I have faced a lot of negativity in my life from people who tell me that my skin is too dark, and my hair is too curly to be considered Native American.
