The bigger thing is empowers are a good store of value when you hit max gold and now there's no such thing left you just need to spend your gold on something at that moment instead of saving it for when you need it
I really, really hope they don’t go through with this. For almost 15 years I’ve come and gone throughout the game and now getting gold will never be the same and much more difficult. Heartbreaking
They’re gonna either need to revamp the amount of money stuff costs in general or they have to keep the scaling the same for the bazaar (so 90 now would be 900 after the update) in order to keep people from being angry.
It helps a small fraction of the playerbase at a certain time in the storyline, while simultaneously hurting the rest of the community which doesn’t really seem like an overall positive for the game
Hurting the gold economy is going to go over swimmingly 🙄 I understand from a business perspective why they wanna kill emps because of purchasing real money stuff, but hurting everyone elses gold with every other items ridiculous given how much we spend it regularly and its already annoying enough to get gold a lot of the time
monsterology and pet training going to be rare if this update drops, extract spells are already not being used by a lot of the community and now we can’t even get the gold to try it out 😢
If this is the case and they want to stop people from making gold in a reasonable time frame then they should remove the gold cap TBH it shouldnt be there at all to begin with
I think raising the cap to 999 is fine as long as they fix the scaling so when there’s 999 emps you can still sell them for 800 gold like when it was at 100 before.

Dude, I get so many empowers and aura TCs from gardening, I do give out free tc/gold when hatching or just randomly when I need to tc dump in the commons. This will be so bad for the economy of wiz.
The meta for farming after this is probs gonna involve farming the mobs that drop the most base gold (like thieves den) and then just feeding gear to your pet and quickselling jewels But yeah this is not okay.
Hopefully this won’t go to live realm but if their goal was actually to get rid of the emp black market, there were a million other ways they could’ve done it without affecting every person playing the game.
I feel like some solutions could be buffing the minimum so empowers and other gold selling items don’t reach worthless tier when selling and deal with bazaar bots, they feel unfair and like you said they’re an additional problem, like how is not a exploit snatching something 1 millisecond before any regular player gets the chance to grab it? Plus quite a bit of times the whole reagent section were empty or filled up a quarter of a page, it’s not healthy for the game.
Dang I was about to buy some crowns to get Vestrilund as a perm area to farm and sell the items from Halfang. I usually just get a 1 month membership every few years, but was looking into buying areas with crowns instead (haven't had a lot of time to grind and just wanted more casual play). But now I'm probably gonna reconsider until we see the consequences of this being brought to the actual realms 😅
Looks like KI is hoping that people will actually go and spend Crowns for gold since the only way to get a million gold with this new broken economy is to buy it off the Crown Shop. Pay 5000 Crowns for 10,000 gold. XD But seriously, looks like I'll have to start farming for Cow Pearl Amulets for my new character ASAP. I wanted to avoid giving her free gold but if this new economy makes it worth more to quick sell your items than sell them at the bazaar, we could be in trouble.
In short, everything that is good for selling to make gold will immediately be flooded into the market and drive the sell price down to worthlessness. Then that will force people to use worse methods of attaining gold, which will then flood the market again until there isn’t a single good source of obtaining gold in the entire game. And this won’t even take long to crash the market, maybe a week to a month, then the game is unplayable financially.
Let’s cope and hope that this is just a test realm feature to make the bazaar more interesting because there’s just no way this is beneficial for the game in the long run. If something this were to implemented KI would have to add a new and easy way to get lots of gold or rework gold in some way
This is going to trash the economy of the game on every level, esentially all items will eventually be worthless as the amount of every item rises to max is going to reduce to rubbish, on top of the current $ price on stacks of empowers specifically
Does this change affect y'all? Is there anything GOOD about this that i'm missing somehow?!

If the prices of certain items like treasure cards tank, it will be more difficult to help some people get items and free mounts that they need. The net effect is an increase in the likelihood of spending crowns and increasing the profits of KI. ALWAYS FOLLOW THE MONEY!!
I guess it’s time to start buying gold with crowns.
Just kidding guys, don’t waste real world money on something like gold.
Heartbreaking
fishing can make great gold though.
ah yes: how many players/wizards on average can consistently catch fish that not only ISN'T apart of their side quest: but ALSO chests? i'll wait.
Eh they obliterated fishing a few years ago with the blackberry jellyfish incident
Honestly the idea wouldnt be that bad, if so many things didnt cost an obscene amount of gold.
They’re gonna either need to revamp the amount of money stuff costs in general or they have to keep the scaling the same for the bazaar (so 90 now would be 900 after the update) in order to keep people from being angry.
I love this change, things in the bazaar have always been too expensive. Makes it easier for low level players to progress
It helps a small fraction of the playerbase at a certain time in the storyline, while simultaneously hurting the rest of the community which doesn’t really seem like an overall positive for the game
The new way for gold is gonna be the ratings board farming dungeon 20k gold each run
Hurting the gold economy is going to go over swimmingly 🙄 I understand from a business perspective why they wanna kill emps because of purchasing real money stuff, but hurting everyone elses gold with every other items ridiculous given how much we spend it regularly and its already annoying enough to get gold a lot of the time
This I don’t get because the supplier is still paying real money so they get it either way
Nah this is good, this can make it better for casuals or people that are new to the game mega snack wise
monsterology and pet training going to be rare if this update drops, extract spells are already not being used by a lot of the community and now we can’t even get the gold to try it out 😢
If this is the case and they want to stop people from making gold in a reasonable time frame then they should remove the gold cap TBH it shouldnt be there at all to begin with
We not getting out of Unicorn Way with this one
Fam, looks like we’re going to be farming that side boss in Karamelle for gold
Surely, this means that you don't need 100K to hatch now, right?
Right?
I think going after the black market is a good thing but why make pet snacks have no value? Making pets just became waayyyyy harder
Getting reagents will be so much easier now.
we're going into to the great wiz depression pray for us
I think raising the cap to 999 is fine as long as they fix the scaling so when there’s 999 emps you can still sell them for 800 gold like when it was at 100 before.
supply and demand dude.... you gotta pay attention in economics. i tell ya right now: even a black rapper knows the basics of supply and demand and they'll straight up tell you here if they saw this right now: that's not how quantity works.
@@olyviermonteau4300sir this is Wizard 101, a childrens card game.
@@olyviermonteau4300 making yourself look really bad with that "even a black rapper". lord knows what you were even going for with that one lmao
@@4hoofd i was gonna go for homeless but i said to myself: "nah that's too low of an example" so i teetered on the edge instead kekw. but yeah snoop dogg knows about supply and demand.
@@olyviermonteau4300 but you're not even on the edge tbh, you're just making it seem like specifically a black rapper is in general someone incapable of understanding economics. I just hope you understand this is not some shit you just randomly throw out there, expecting people to relate with what you're saying.
should have finished the pun in the vid by saying: "-out of balance school."
I didn't enjoy this video, all I heard was "Your Empowers Are Worthless". This video brings horrible thoughts that ki should've never thought of to begin with. I was scared when you said my empowers are going to be worth less.
All they gotta do is change the formula for how the sell value works
Super annoyed by this, they want us to have less gold sp we depend more on elixirs/crownshop
About dang time! I'd get mad but people be using TC for like sus stuff. Especially kittens, dauntless troop and squad 3 . Every TC has a serial number and a bunch of those losers will finally face the music
Dude, I get so many empowers and aura TCs from gardening, I do give out free tc/gold when hatching or just randomly when I need to tc dump in the commons. This will be so bad for the economy of wiz.
pov capitalist bourgeois argues for keeping his market
Mans really said impossible challenge was coming out last sunday
The meta for farming after this is probs gonna involve farming the mobs that drop the most base gold (like thieves den) and then just feeding gear to your pet and quickselling jewels
But yeah this is not okay.
They just need to adjust the price ranges for items to maintain the original values
and its almost black monday anniversary too 😭😭😭
If there will be a market crash then they better balance the gold for everything
Relax, they're just teasing the next world, GreatDepressia XD
Hopefully this won’t go to live realm but if their goal was actually to get rid of the emp black market, there were a million other ways they could’ve done it without affecting every person playing the game.
I feel like some solutions could be buffing the minimum so empowers and other gold selling items don’t reach worthless tier when selling and deal with bazaar bots, they feel unfair and like you said they’re an additional problem, like how is not a exploit snatching something 1 millisecond before any regular player gets the chance to grab it? Plus quite a bit of times the whole reagent section were empty or filled up a quarter of a page, it’s not healthy for the game.
lets not also forget the glitched cat tail reagent in the bazaar that you still cannot buy from unless there is another one popping up kekw.
They need to fix the botting issue. Idc what they do. Simple way is to add a captcha or something if you are refreshing a lot.
rip gamma's trading post discord LOL
Dang I was about to buy some crowns to get Vestrilund as a perm area to farm and sell the items from Halfang. I usually just get a 1 month membership every few years, but was looking into buying areas with crowns instead (haven't had a lot of time to grind and just wanted more casual play). But now I'm probably gonna reconsider until we see the consequences of this being brought to the actual realms 😅
maybe I'm just too much of a penny pincher but I never seem to be low on gold. what is super expensive that makes is so everyone needs to farm?
Pet breeding mega/ultras mostly
Looks like KI is hoping that people will actually go and spend Crowns for gold since the only way to get a million gold with this new broken economy is to buy it off the Crown Shop. Pay 5000 Crowns for 10,000 gold. XD
But seriously, looks like I'll have to start farming for Cow Pearl Amulets for my new character ASAP. I wanted to avoid giving her free gold but if this new economy makes it worth more to quick sell your items than sell them at the bazaar, we could be in trouble.
Wizard101 classic when?
In short, everything that is good for selling to make gold will immediately be flooded into the market and drive the sell price down to worthlessness. Then that will force people to use worse methods of attaining gold, which will then flood the market again until there isn’t a single good source of obtaining gold in the entire game. And this won’t even take long to crash the market, maybe a week to a month, then the game is unplayable financially.
Not a fan of this one. Most of the things they’ve been adding recently has been great for the game but this is just weird…
Let’s cope and hope that this is just a test realm feature to make the bazaar more interesting because there’s just no way this is beneficial for the game in the long run. If something this were to implemented KI would have to add a new and easy way to get lots of gold or rework gold in some way
These types of decisions will result in a lot of players leaving the game.
Could they not just change the rate that prices scale? Like if they're tripling the max quantity cut the scaling rate to 1/3 per item
How come they don’t add something so we can trade gear to other players? Like if I have an extra set of aeon gear why can’t I give it to my friend?
This is going to trash the economy of the game on every level, esentially all items will eventually be worthless as the amount of every item rises to max is going to reduce to rubbish, on top of the current $ price on stacks of empowers specifically
