    I appreciate the filming of Sara troubleshooting things that she doesn’t find right in her painting. We all don’t get it exactly right the first time and always have a chance to learn something

      We LOVE hearing this feedback and knowing that you enjoy seeing Sarah troubleshoot on camera live. Thanks for tuning in and creating along with us!

    This was tough. I also struggle painting cats. Don't forget your own rule, Sarah (Be kind to yourself). And also, thank you for letting us see how you work through your vision for a project.

    Thanks, Sarah, for baring your soul on TH-cam. Watching a professional artist question and struggle makes me feel better about my own work. You are appreciated.

    800 + lessons and you come across as original and interesting. Thank you both, Keenan you are so much more interesting than some of the mood music on some tutorials. Scary cat would make an interesting painting!!

    Thank you!! Great lesson - and nothing helps my inner-critic more than hearing a professional having some of the same challenges. Thank you for letting us see you work through the process!!

    As a newly retired teacher, I just want to tell you that you did the absolute best for us as students! Teachers are not perfect, we don't know everything and we make mistakes. I learned so much from watching and listening to how you problem solved! And believe me, I have been watching so many of your videos and leaving you comments... as a teacher myself, I feel that feedback is so important! Especially positive! I am grateful for you and Keenan! He is a hoot! Thank you!🙂

    I think my cat turned out pretty good because I carefully followed directions. Withe the beautiful pigment background, it’s one of my favorites.

    Such a great lesson! My SIL has a 20-pound Maine Coon cat named Mr. Fitz of a very similar color. There are no bothersome chipmunks or squirrels around their house! Hugs from Maine.

    Man I've been so excited to try this one but it was way more challenging than I anticipated 🙈 I think the angle of the cat lying down made it super hard for me to keep everything a bit more proportionate. Will definitely have to try this one again!!

    A couple of comments Sara
    All cat whiskers are not white
    There is a patch above cat’s eyes where the fur is thinner so that when they are sleeping other animals will think they are still awake and their eyes are open

    Fun fact: Most cats have exactly 12 whiskers in four rows on both cheeks.

    Context: I have four cats and I have had more. This was something I noticed myself. Yes, I have counted my cats’ whiskers😂.

      Hi Sue! Our team member who uploads our content is based in Utah now and not Missouri, and unfortunately TH-cam's scheduling feature is based on the specific time zone of the uploader. So in an attempt to make things say as consistent as we can but working with these parameters, we are uploading things as close to Midnight central as we can. Thanks for your patience and understanding. We're so glad we get to create along with you.

    Wow. That cat turned out beautiful!
    I remember Lindsay Wirech (the frugal crafter on TH-cam) painting a similar or same (?) refrence photo on her sketchbook Sunday a while ago! :P
    It's really intresting how the painting styles of 2 artists really vary haha. :)
    I'm probably gonna attempt painting this using my Sennelier!😛
    Thanks for this!

    With regards to the nose of your cat, I think you make the pink part too triangular. That might be making the nose look too pointed. Try rounding the top part and and the three angles of the nose.

    Thank you although I had no pigment I spattered blue and copper shimmer paint I had lots of fun and now I’m walking away lol.

    The eyes are slanted up rather than down and you need more shadow under chin to round it out.

  • @joyofjournaling2613
    @joyofjournaling2613 ปีที่แล้ว

    I think you just needed to darken just under chin with more orange before you started reworking face and it would have been good....but I enjoyed your process of trying to trouble shot cause we all struggle too

  • @NyliMtz

    So cute! I liked how you were troubleshooting. It lets us know you're just like us! LOL One thought, I always try to search for your actual reference photo on Pixabay, etc., because I find it's easier to paint from than the provided reference photo of your painting. I end up trying to make it look like the original painting. I know there might be copyright issues and you can't reprint them, but would it be possible to include that in the kits as well as your painted photo reference? Or at least list the reference photo URL so we can find it ourselves?

    Love this tutorial!! What product did you use for the background and is it available for Purchase?

    • @LetsMakeArt
      @LetsMakeArt  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We are so happy to hear that you enjoyed this tutorial. The product featured in this tutorial is a Pigment Powder that we are testing out to see if our fabulous community and customers would want to see more and have us carry a potential collection of these pigment powders. It is not currently available for purchase, it was the bonus item featured in our Small Comforts box and is exclusively available, along with another color, to customers who purchase this box. If and when our team decides to carry the line, we will definitely make that exciting announcement. Thanks for creating along with us!!

    Sarah your ~80% stat was correct. Only about 1 in 5 orange tabbies is female. I actually have a female orange tabby - and I called her a “he” for so long at first because I just assumed she had to be a boy 😂 Thankfully KitKat is a pretty gender neutral name lol
