- After four months of ownership, here's my opinion on the refreshed New Audi RS5 Sportback. Is it worth getting or are other options better? See the changes and judge the significance of them for yourself.

It has launch control, do either a quick push of esc button to put it in sport or a long push to shut it completely off, then mash the gas and brake all the way, need to push the brake heard and it’ll build boost on the gauge give it a few seconds and let off brake and it’ll fly. It’s why your 0-60 times are in the 4.3 range. They’ll be lower if you properly launch
Oh and it has to be in dynamic
This!
Ok I didn't know that. I was lead to believe it doesn't have launch control as when I drove the RS7 and RSQ8 the ESC didn't have to be disengaged 😅
@@Snowcatsrt yup it has to be either off or sport. You have to really hold the brake hard
@@Snowcatsrt Technically you're correct. The car does not have a "launch control" as other cars with a DCT. You can however brake boost while in dynamic, sport transmission and ESC: sport/off, let the boost gauge get full and let go of the brakes... You should see the numbers in the 3.5 0-60mph range.
This video easily deserves 500k+ views.
The quality, the cinematics, the editing, the overall production littrely everything is just so professional
Thank you 🙏
Amazing review. My friend got a black rs5 sportback in the summer. Thing is insane. I have an A6 and someday I’ll definitely look to get this 2021 rs5 sportback. I like the touchscreen vs the 2019’s non touch
This is a fantastic review 👏🏻 Probably one of the best car review videos I've seen. Right to the important points and honest input
You deserve way more views on this
I appreciate that! Thank you for the kind words 🙏
This guys gives a good vibes when reviewing a car. Awesome channel! :)
Thank you!
The production quality keeps getting better and better, keep up the good work
Thank you!
Loved the review & 36 hrs in, 0 speeding tickets to report… so that’s pretty good. I champion my QV as “good training”. 😜
Awesome video. I have a 2022 RS5 in Turbo Blue in production right now! Can't wait - and your review and camera work is making me want the car NOW!
Turbo blue is going to look awesome! I always really liked the look of that color with brushed aluminium wheels. Let me know when it gets in!
@@Snowcatsrt I went with the black rims along with the black package and logos. Thought the blue/black will look sharp.
@@Mehta4ic that's going to look sickk 💪💪
My dream car since the 2015 model
Excellent review. I own the same exact car (2021 RS5) but in black. Few things I don't like, the fuel consumption is bonkers, the Apple Wireless CarPlay cuts in and out constantly making it nearly useless and the ride is quite firm. But not too much. I've got the squeaking driver's side door panel problem you mentioned in another video. Need to get that fixed. But overall I really love this car and it's my daily driver and the family car with 2 small kids in car seats in the back. I've managed consistent 3.6 second launches. It's a lot of fun. Looking forward to winter with it here in Canada.
Will try to do those launches when it cools down a bit.these things suffer from insane heat soak!
what is the fuel economy for it for 100km/L? 13?
Correction: the car has launch control but I'm an idiot and couldn't figure it out. As you guys have mentioned I need to turn the ESC completely off as well as be in Dynamic/RS mode. I only tested it in RS mode and will do a follow up to clarify. MY BAD 😅
I’d just give the car a break in between runs, the rs5 doesn’t deal with heat well and the differential will heat up along with oil temps after repeat runs which will lead to the car pulling timing which obv won’t help times. Good luck!
And you can put esc in sport which is a single push not a long push which will shut it off completely
Thanks! Yeah I heard these cars don't do well with tunes and mods unless you're willing to spend A LOTTT
@@Snowcatsrt yeah there’s one bottleneck after the next with aftermarket stuff. People have done e85, hybrid turbos, down pipes, intercoolers etc but the cooling always seems to be the limiting factor. And the fact that there isn’t a huge demand for aftermarket parts so companies don’t have a ton of incentive to develope them. If you want to tune and Audi it’s the ttrs or rs3 that people get fast.. I’m going to go with a stage 1 apr 93 flash to wake it up some. Should make it faster without the need for a ton of other hardware and without sacrificing reliability. An intercooler would help with just a flash but apr has told me it isn’t required if you’re cognizant of oil temps and let it cool down between pulls. I just don’t wanna pull the front end apart to install an intercooler lol
@@Turtle-sz7sk yeah and the intercoolers aren't too great at the moment. Preferably would fit a larger intercooler, a heat exchanger and meth
Greetings, I’ve been watching your RS5 video for awhile now, I’d like to ask, is it worth it to get the matrix led headlight with laser over the standard matrix led headlight?
Great video as BMW fan love this car, it's perfect!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it! I don't hate BMWs. I just like the older ones more than the new ones :)
Great video! Just make me more determined to get one and keep it for life before the soon arrival of EV era!!
This! There's so many cars I want before the EV era and I feel like I'm running out of time
Great Review..I'm bmw supporter bt I rely like the Rs5
You’re good at this. Keep it up.
Thank you!
I'm considering putting an order in for this car. Been quoted a good price but it's without the dynamic suspension. Our UK Roads can be fairly bumpy with potholes and uneven surfaces, do you think the ride would be too harsh on the stock suspension? I know you spoke about it briefly in the video, just wanted a little more detail :).
It all depends on your preferences to be honest. What I find acceptable could be unacceptable for somebody else. I used to have a Renault Megane RS with cup suspension and it was firmer than this but still used it as a daily.
I prefer sports cars with a bit more bounce as it suits them but if you're the opposite I would advise to get the adaptive suspension
Great review, great video production. Sell me those RS logo floor mats! 😆
Thanks! 😅 I still need floor mats though!
@@Snowcatsrt 😆👍👍👍
I’m late to the party but great review. And I want this exact car in a year so please ship to Las Vegas haha
Shocked there’s only a 15.3 gallon tank on this. But 1-2 long distance trips would still be worth it.
I'm not sure if you driven or sat in any other RS models (RS3, RS7, RS6) but in your opinion do you feel the RS5 is balance in every category compare to other RS models? I think Porsche designed the engine if I recall. Thanks for this video!
Yes I drove all of them except the new RS3 but I drove the RSQ3
A few things I don't really like about my RS5 Sportback that are not mentioned in this video :
- The nappa leather is beautiful but the lower bolster on the driver seat will show creases after only a few ingresses/egresses. Every single RS car has it. I am considering gaving these pieces redine in vinyl.
- the piano black console in the facelifted B9 is a huge letdown in quality vs the brushed metallic console that was in the prefacelift version. You can introduce microscratches in this material just from your fingers. It is always dusty and with the swirls it looks terrible at night given the dome lights are powerful.
- The steel brakes are very squeaky. I did the procedure where you brake 10 times from 100km to zero, it made a huge difference but they will randomly squeak again.
- when you put the car in one of the RS modes, the head-up display changes to the RS monitor. I don't like it, and I have to change the setting in a sub-sub menu everytime I restart the car to get rid of it.
- The car really does not sound good.
Not deal breakers on their own but factors that could sway potential buywrs towards other cars.
How is it going through the many roundabouts in bahrain
Buying one by end of this year
Is there a big difference in driving experience with lets say 2018
PS vag is most greedy producer, your have to pay for everything
The purplish light in the headlights , is that part of the laser light ? It says led matrix laser light , is that purple light in the head lights part of that ?
Yes it's part of the laser lights :)
Who’s the camera guy, would love to know the camera settings on those B-Rolls shot
Pretty much everything is recorded in 25fps 1/60 shutter speed 4k at f 2.8
Was very keen on 2018/19 one of these for a while but then drove a BMW M2 competition and so much more exhilarating, and you have to drive it with skill, not let the car sort you out. And accelerates quicker than your times…..Suppose its what you want out of driving and I have no kids to keep in the back. They go in the wife’s car.
I pick up my daughter every day from school so I need the back seats! M2s are awesome
Bro pick up your phone man. Poor Faisal has called u 33 times already. Give the guy a break...
Excellent review!
🤣
Try the launch control on another video! You'll be impressed. You need to have the car in dynamic mode, the transmission should be on S mode, then turn off the esc, then you need to mash both pedals all the way to the floor, and let around 2-3 seconds of boost building and let go of the brake. Rs5 does 0-60 in about 3.6 - 3.7 secs.
Man I can't believe I didn't research this. I was lead to believe it doesn't have launch control like in other RSs. Just foot on the brake and full throttle until boost builds up in RS/dynamic mode
@@Snowcatsrt yes! It does make a difference when you let all the boost to build, launches like crazy. But of course yeah the heat is a problem. Keep up the awesome videos, I love the RS5!
@@evaristocorripio5434 I appreciate that thank you 🙏
Awesome video!!!
Thank you!!
Nardo Grey actually looks better than glacier white in my opinion, you can’t mistake the fact that it’s a RS car in that colour.
I'm not saying Nardo grey is a bad colour but I've seen so many cars in it that it just got boring for me! Although white isn't a too interesting color either to be fair 😅
@@Snowcatsrt not in Sydney, lucky to see one Nardo every few weeks, very rare. I have only ever seen one Nardo in my whole suburb which is my RS3😂
I have the Nardo Gray with the high gloss Back Optics option (not to be confused with the much more expensive options with carbon fiber external trim). Looks awesome. Wish the reviewer had read the manual about how to do launch control properly. Most professional reviewers get 3.6-3.7 for 0-60 in for the RS5. Agree with others that wireless connection for Apple Car Play and Android Auto is unreliable, but cable connection is also provided for and very reliable.
@@robertgordon5956 it doesn't have launch control in a traditional sense. The car also is low mileage and I've been making faster and faster times with the weather cooling down
@@Snowcatsrt I have mine Turbo Blue with bronze wheels rarely see that.
My dream car!😍
What is the ground clearance of this car?
With regards to those black Audi rims, anybody know the part number for those that I wanted to order those separately on my current RS5 sportback? I'm having a hard time finding those here in the USA.
Now you need to quickly film the a proper launch start :)
Sounds like a plan!
Such an amazing car😍
Agreed! Thank you!
I want know the intro bgm thanks!
Does it come with ventilated seats??
I think you can get that as an option
no only heated
seems not easy to ride at back seat for adults
It's alright depending how tall you are but a bit claustrophobic
Hmm... honestly, it is kinda disappointing ... S5 gives you 98% of RS5 for less, and performance is not super far away. If you say you launch with 3.9-4.3 ... well my stock S5 does 4.1-4.2 th-cam.com/video/twrHOof9T0I/w-d-xo.html
No dis, the car still looks cool, but something is really off with RS5 for the price point.
A lot of people do go for the S over the RS for sure. Later on on i figured out why it was launching slower. Basically 0-60MPH was around 3.6 seconds and when I changed to kph it was around 3.8-3.9. I also turned traction control all the way off and that seemed to help with getting it faster off the line instead of having traction in sport mode.
6:50 Pause
Rs5 much smaller, rs5 is perfect....
an 'angry hoover'
you should but not in 2021 lol the prices are ridiculous.
All cars are overpriced realy.
So Audi offers you so something that looks like a turd and you gotta pay them to fix it?
