You should discuss advanced material as What to do if opponent grabs the chain and won't let go And how to lock and tie the chain around a throat or a hand for a pulldown or a throw.
I enjoyed your video. I am not very good with the kusari fundo yet but I practice when I can. I like the way you strike with the right hand and catch it with your left arm. I usually follow it with my left hand and then catch it with the hand. Thanks again.
True technique here is pretty much impossible. It takes decades or total focus and talent to do what this is capable of, including supersonic whipping (a technique for skull crushing and armor penetration) and direct punch.
Hi, Good vid. not enough youtube senseis discuss body dynamic which, given you cant see it on video needs to be explained. Can you tell me about the Legalities concerning carrying, teaching Kusari fundo in your area. As to the total length, should it be matched to an anatomical proportion.
One does not have to be a black belt in any M.A. just train for years with Manriki Gusari Kusari Fundo and maybe Kusarigama. I recomnend youtube videos of Ninja Trainer Yossi Sheriff. You are using Kusari Fundo like it was Nunchaku. This is wrong. And dangerous to yourself. Unless it is a training imitation rope
Sorry my friend but you are a beginner. And in 1.54 - 1.59 you are even wrong. The movement should come from the shoulder and not from the wrist unless you want to hit and injure yourself badly. Chain IS NOT Nunchaku.
Looks like your a beginner because clearly you can not discern what you are seeing. He is doing his technique correctly. I am a member of a school that teaches this in their curriculum. I carry one of these everywhere I go.
What is the best length for this weapon? 2 or 3 feet?
Many techniques from the Chinese rope dart can be used with the kusari fundo.
