The first time I listened to this album I put on headphones and laid down to listen through the whole thing. By the end, I felt I watched one of the greatest movies I've ever watched. This album is best listened from beginning to end. It's a story. It builds, has twists, turns, gets intense, climax, and finally an amazing release with the end. All the songs stand great on their own but in my opinion it's another level when you listen to this album as if it's a movie.
And if i am right, a few songs are quoting the music of some others between the two parts of Juggernaut: - the end of The Scourge announces the chorus and verse of Psychospher - the end of Four Lights quotes the melodic part in the middle of The Scourge - Reprise quotes A Black Minute - The second part of Omega quotes the melodic jazzy end of MK-Ultra ; and the end of Omega quotes the chorus of A Black Minute and the chorus of Alpha - and the very end of Stranger Things is the very beginning of A Black Minute *,* (like the entire album is a loop or something :3 ) Let me know if i forgot something ^u^
This album has been a slow grower for me over the years but I'm finally coming around to it being one of my favorites from the band. Back when I first heard it, I was somewhat put off by the slower/chuggier sound of it when compared to their other stuff. P1 is crazy technical, P2 is fast-paced as hell, and even P3 is pretty high octane and proggy most of the time. Juggernaut always seemed like the simplest and least engaging out of the bunch. But after all these years my tastes have matured some and I recognize that technicality isn't everything. This album has an incredibly powerful emotional and thematic core. I'd say it's by far the band's darkest and most personal feeling record. It's definitely the depressing one out of the discography, and I fucking love it now. For the moment, I think P4 is still my favorite for sheer song consistency and compositional achievement with insane tracks like Reptile. But Juggernaut is pretty easily my second favorite. Being that I love concept albums I think it was only a matter of time before I came around to Juggernaut. And I really want to revisit it more thoroughly soon.
Dude, totally feel you in your feelings here with I’m assuming Omega as well. I’ve listened to their entire discography and these are the two that I kind of intentionally put on the back burner. And I think now I know why I did that after reading your comment. These two really need the space for absorption. I know the other albums pretty much second nature by now, so I’m ready.
1st song “A black minute” Our voices echo on a quiet night Silver faces, an unholy cathedral Moon and Sun A birthing right in this duality Embrace the feeling of our human skin Intertwining now in ecstasy Lie in the circle of a few who stain (Our bodies with their own blood) The blessings given as the child grows A family burdened with a life full of evil Sacrifice Now you can live to see another day Embrace the feeling of our human skin Intertwining now in ecstasy Lie in the circle of a few who stain Our bodies with their own blood Our bodies with their blood Our voices echo on a quiet night Silver faces, an unholy cathedral Moon and Sun A birthing right in this duality These voices echo so violently A complication with a life full of evil Sacrifice Now you can live to see another day 2nd song “MK Ultra” Innocent babe, shall we corrupt at such a young age Conjure a laugh, conjure the tears amongst love Glass brain, it will project all of the spectrum Heart still but his infant hands are shaking now Start leaking all the thoughts on your mind What's yours is ours for the taking Take this bruise as a sign That we own you now and forevermore Spiral down Disconnecting sight from sound Control one Innocent babe, shall we corrupt at such a young age Conjure a laugh, conjure the tears amongst love Take this bruise as a sign That we own you now and forever The poison now is your responsibility You can finger-paint with blood on your hands Take this bruise as a sign That we own you now and forevermore, more, more That we own you now and forevermore, more, more That we own you now and forever 3rd song “Heavy Heart” Experience these things My chest sinks further in and it gets hard to breathe Don't fight it, make this easy Sometimes I wish I had wings Fly far away from this life It's a long road It's a long road As the water beads up on the window Turn the sad song up on the ra-ra-radio (What's left with me is a memory) (When the flesh moves on) Such curiosity These thoughts go on all day It takes hold of me But fighting isn't easy Sometimes I wish I had wings Fly far away from this life It's a long road It's a long road As the water beads up on the window Turn the sad song up on the radio Will the voices haunt when the flesh moves on And the clouds block out the rays? Dude. Actually same. I was on the highway and had the worst panic attack of my life, and had just recently bought this CD. Something told me to put it in, and my God. I've never gotten more chills from music. Fucking masterpieces
@@williametchison6078 I related to almost every song on this record at one point mentally speaking. Obviously there wasn't any actual bloodshed lol, but an adventure doesn't have to be a physical one. My mind felt like it went to Hell and back. In retrospect, it was a wild ride that could be a great story at a party and I'm thankful I braved it.
Periphery’s best work till date. They (admittedly) pushed themselves so much during the making of this record that they won’t do it ever again.
That's how I felt before HAIL STAN. Now I'm firmly in the position that Satellites is the greatest thing they will ever make.
Periphery II will forever hold a special place in my heart. But juggernaut is a very close second favorite

My favorite Album by Periphery still 2023 !
Giving it an end to end listen or two tonight. I’ll report back.
the transition from hell below to omega is gold
same as the transition from Reprise to The bad thing.
1st song “A black minute”
Our voices echo on a quiet night
Silver faces, an unholy cathedral
Moon and Sun
A birthing right in this duality
Embrace the feeling of our human skin
Intertwining now in ecstasy
Lie in the circle of a few who stain
(Our bodies with their own blood)
The blessings given as the child grows
A family burdened with a life full of evil
Sacrifice
Now you can live to see another day
Embrace the feeling of our human skin
Intertwining now in ecstasy
Lie in the circle of a few who stain
Our bodies with their own blood
Our bodies with their blood
Our voices echo on a quiet night
Silver faces, an unholy cathedral
Moon and Sun
A birthing right in this duality
These voices echo so violently
A complication with a life full of evil
Sacrifice
Now you can live to see another day
2nd song “MK Ultra”
Innocent babe, shall we corrupt at such a young age
Conjure a laugh, conjure the tears amongst love
Glass brain, it will project all of the spectrum
Heart still but his infant hands are shaking now
Start leaking all the thoughts on your mind
What's yours is ours for the taking
Take this bruise as a sign
That we own you now and forevermore
Spiral down
Disconnecting sight from sound
Control one
Innocent babe, shall we corrupt at such a young age
Conjure a laugh, conjure the tears amongst love
Take this bruise as a sign
That we own you now and forever
The poison now is your responsibility
You can finger-paint with blood on your hands
Take this bruise as a sign
That we own you now and forevermore, more, more
That we own you now and forevermore, more, more
That we own you now and forever
3rd song “Heavy Heart”
Experience these things
My chest sinks further in and it gets hard to breathe
Don't fight it, make this easy
Sometimes I wish I had wings
Fly far away from this life
It's a long road
It's a long road
As the water beads up on the window
Turn the sad song up on the ra-ra-radio
(What's left with me is a memory)
(When the flesh moves on)
Such curiosity
These thoughts go on all day
It takes hold of me
But fighting isn't easy
Sometimes I wish I had wings
Fly far away from this life
It's a long road
It's a long road
As the water beads up on the window
Turn the sad song up on the radio
Will the voices haunt when the flesh moves on
And the clouds block out the rays?
When the feeling hangs upon a halo
I can only try my best just to let it go
What's left with me is a memory
And the things I have to say
Resting now, their bodies hit the ground
Nightmares creep over me, I hear the sounds
(Yes, they all hit the ground)
Children scream, their mothers bleed hung upside down
Scarlet ropes and sadistic minds surround me
I've spent all of my life confined in secrecy
What you see is but a shell of what I am on the inside
Clouds of blackness strike lightning
There's nothing above
I'm falling, falling, I'm falling below
(There's nothing above)
I'm falling, falling, I'm falling below, below
As the water beads up on the window
Turn the sad song up on the radio
Will the voices haunt when the flesh moves on
And the clouds block out the rays?
When the feeling hangs upon a halo
I can only try my best just to let it go
What's left with me is a memory
And the things I have to say
5th song The Scourge”
As I sit with eyes heavy omens clear
Face down in seclusion, the evils steer
What drives the stake within my heart
This man he fell apart
Now that the entrance is open wide
This black all around makes its way inside
What have you done? Will hate abide?
Where is my death invitation? Elation?
Dead winds swirling beneath these prayers on high
I'd give my life for a taste of, taste of
What lies beyond the dead place now
Live Earth rising beneath these hands untied
I leave my life for the void!
Never one of them, I am not free..)
I am not free!
Survive! I will survive!
Glass ceilings above drop rage upon them (raging upon them)
Stone cold fists and a memory running on the blunt end of a blade
The blood that is spilled shall start my serenade, to you
I will survive
I will survive
Survive!
Silence is bringing on the heart attack
Pushing and pulling going on within my brain
It says to lay low
Dead end, the darkness latches on
Now I am a product of a mind
That wasn’t ever mine
And now it says "kill them slow”
Weighed down
I’m drowning in this stale moment
Renown is yelling at me from above
This is a one way road
Kill them slow
6. Alpha
It's always better on the other side of it
Wanting what you'll never have
And it's a goddamn broken state of mind
Yeah, the one that we've been living in
It's never greener inside the mess we're in
Wanting what you'll never have
The less we are content the more we throw away
What little time we have left to grow
Separate mind from hate
Punch through the unknown
And it will leave the little time we have
Stop bleeding on the inside, we are alive
And it's more than enough to paint the walls that are white
Can we show the ones who are blind?
It's envy eating away at the core of us
Wanting what you'll never have
And isn't it the point of living to breathe?
Knowing this is all we get
It's never greener inside the mess we're in
Wanting what you'll never have
The less we are content the more we throw away
What little time we have left to grow
Separate mind from hate
Punch through the unknown
And it will leave the little time we have
Stop bleeding on the inside, we are alive
And it's more than enough to paint the walls that are white
Can we show the ones who are blind?
Stop bleeding on the inside, we are alive
And it's more than enough to paint the walls that are white
Can we show the ones who are blind? (Show them that we're not blind?)
Come on, show them that we're not blind
We're not blind
Stop bleeding on the inside, we are alive
And it's more than enough to paint the walls that are white
Can we show the ones who are blind?
Stop bleeding on the inside, we are alive
And it's more than enough to paint the walls that are white
Can we show the ones who are blind?
Fly past the withered trees
Ascend to holy air and breathe
Fly past the withered trees
Ascend to holy air and breathe
This want is menacing it will not leave us be
Can we purge this?
The bastard in our brain will chew until it bleeds
How did we get like this?
How did we get like this? (Can we purge this heart?)
Step out in the rain
Feel life in our veins
Step out in the rain
Feel life in our, feel life in our veins
How did we get like this? (Can we purge this?)
The bastard in our brain will chew until it bleeds
How did we get like this?
7. “22 Faces”
Staring at the hourglass, my life, it feels like a machine
Running with no direction
Watching time as it draws a perception obscene
From a resurrection
Choking on reality, the walls of my insides, they bleed
From the excess incisions
Drawn and quartered by the monster who pulls on the strings
From the core of me
Whoa, yeah, I'm dying to see
What it is that is eating away at me
Now the stars are the sun in my world
They burn from the inside out
Ice cold in the flames burning all around
So blind to the beauty of sleep
But it feels like the walls are melting, freezing into me
Have I lost track of time? Yeah
Why can't I feel the burn?
Staring at the hourglass, my life, it feels like a machine
Running with no direction
Drawn and quartered by the monster who pulls on the strings
In my resurrection
Whoa, yeah, I'm dying to see
What it is that is eating away at me
Now the stars are the sun in my world
They burn from the inside out
Whoa, yeah, I'm dying to see
What it is that is eating away at me
Now the stars are deciding my world
They burn from the inside out (inside out)
When the frustration makes a move
The second hand will swallow you
Tearing a hole inside
I'm buried alive
The smell of flesh is seeping into my range
Thrashing, hoping for a better way
The push, the pull
It's tearing apart my will to thrive in the day
Pins and needles jabbing into my veins
On the verge of losing sanity
The beast tears and I can't do a thing about it
Whoa, yeah, I'm dying to see
What it is that is eating away at me
Now the stars are the sun in my world
They burn from the inside out
Fuck me, I am dying for sleep
What exactly is eating away at me?
Now the stars are the sun in my world
They burn from the inside out
This album saved my life.
