What a cheap and nasty name for a viol consort; it is also disrespectful of the beautiful music written for that type of ensemble. Oh yes, and you all need to learn how to hold your bows properly for the English music! I suggest that you consult Simpson's DIVISION VIOL, and not French baroque sources. You will find that your weedy tone will improve tenfold with the more authentic bow-hold, which gives a far greater control of the bow and a less slippery, slidey approach, which might suit Marais, Dollé et al, but certainly NOT Jenkins, Gibbons, Weelkes etc!
wow!
What a gorgeous, gorgeous performance. I never knew this Bach piece existed. And whoever was running sound knows what they are doing.
Thanks so much!
@@FretworkViols I also didn't know it was possible to play a treble viol with such sweetness, delicacy, and musicality.
This is purely a matter of opinion!
Beautiful - good to see you Sam :)
Cheers Joe!! It's good to be back playing with the gang (and making their videos!). Hope you're well
