    This is not really upgrading the internal hard drive. It is simply placing an external device into an enclosure that makes it appear internal. As the original HDD is still in place and the Xbox One boots up off of the original HDD.

      Blood of Heroes which begs the question of why would anyone bother when Xbox supports usb3.0 mine has 4tb which is halfway gone already I would hate to have to open my console to swap a drive and wait and wait wait a minute I already do that on ps4 which is insane.

      Lt. wreck and it begs the question why PS4 owners would imagine changing their HDD out internally was in some way favored over simply adding a drive via USB? Unfortunate for them they don't have the USB option but they some how cry that it is a detriment to Xbox One?

      Blood of Heroes EXACTLY. Plus, anyone else noticed the new HD + USB ports stands in the front of the air intake for cooling?

      Air intakes for the Xbox One are in the right and rear of the Xbox One and exhaust from the top I believe? Here is a link to a cooler add-on that kind of shows the flow process: moargeek.com/2015/08/20/antec-x-1-cooler-review-simple-device-cooling-xbox-one/ which if anyone was going to add the HDD mod I would likely recommend if concerns are for air flow. (I don't own one myself though)

    This came out nice! Dual USB in the front is great much less having the hard drive hidden.

    I had one of these back in the day, dodgy as heck.
    The USB system in them isn't the most reliable, and you really do want external power when adding more USB ports as the xbox one just doesn't provide enough current through the USB ports, especially when you're already expecting the port to run a hard disk.
    In the end, I gave it to a friend and went with an externally powered 4TB/7.2K RPM desktop drive in an enclosure

    People are always going to shout CLICK BAIT even though you clearly used quotations on "Internally"
    Good video, I've never seen anything like this before, it does make the Xbone bigger but its looks loads better than the external hard drive sat next to mine!

  • @frankynakamoto2308
    @frankynakamoto2308 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    They need to do make a video where they put internally an SSD, and tested if it made any improvements and if its better than outside SSD.

    • @genniz
      @genniz 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      they allready did that. the outside ssd did win, it was faster because of the usb 3. i have ssd with usb 3 and i am happy with the result makes most games load 50% faster

    • @frankynakamoto2308
      @frankynakamoto2308 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Eid that is because there is no internal SSD, basically the external SSD is competing against an internal HDD, that is why is faster, but if the SSD was internal it might be faster, because 3.0 doesNOT seem to be faster than SSD inside, at least that is what they told me.

    • @genniz
      @genniz 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** hm yeah okey. xbox only has sata 2 that will also be a problem. that will brake the ssd much faster, and also you only get half the speed vs sata 3

    • @frankynakamoto2308
      @frankynakamoto2308 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      What are you talking about? Break the SSD! How? Also the SSD is almost as fast in SATA2 as SATA3.

    I swapped my standard hard drive with the 2tb Seagate game drive but when I turned console on it was on troubleshooting screen . It was a external hard drive but if it looks up the same why would it not work

  • @theone2be33
    @theone2be33 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    so you bought that so called harddrive case at gaystop and then you had to cut the hell out of it so a harddrive could fit? seriously? who designed that garbage? it does look nice AFTER you fixed it. good job implementing.

  • @RexKuro
    @RexKuro 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    This is misleading, that is a very well known external HDD caddy not internal and has nothing to do with internal or internally please don't miss lead your viewers.

      After researching it I found that the Xbox supports up to 2GB internally. I guess It could change with a software update,

      The Curious Consumer 3 tb means more power. for ps4 users it is possible but isn't supported 100% so if you do it you loose the rest mode feature and it takes more power to run (obviously). great video neither the less
