i took your course few cohorts ago and i'm still a tiny channel but still thrilled when i look back at earlier vids and see progress (less shaky footage!) it's def a long game but feel i'm learning so much. reading your book atm thx ali!
I completed the Part-Time TH-camr Foundation course 3 weeks ago. Followed every piece of advice and started my TH-cam channel. 3 weeks into my channel with 10 subscribers but still making videos because I know consistency is key. I must add, though, that as a beginner, it is hard work😂
I have been following Ali's journey for 3-4 years. After watching Ali's all videos about starting a TH-cam channel, I decided to try it in July 2023. In about 7 months, I have published more than 50 videos and now have more than 10K subscribers. As a professor at a university, I can teach at most 150 students every year, but thanks to my TH-cam channel, I now feel like I have more than 10K students. The size of the impact I create is unbelievable. Thank you Ali!
I have been following Sidika's journey. I have subscribed when you have like 150 subs. I am gonna observe your journey and I hope, I can be succesful like you😊
Thank you Izzy for your advice. I started a channel some years ago, had 300 subscribers after a couple of months and stopped completely because I started being a full time caregiver of my husband. I would like to start another channel, find a different niche and see if I can manage while being a caregiver. Greetings from Uruguay 🇺🇾 😊
Your journey, from the struggles of not having parental figures around to finding your own path and proving you could succeed, really struck a chord. It's a powerful reminder that our beginnings don't define us, but our choices and resilience do. Your story is a beacon of hope for anyone facing similar challenges.
"What feels like a ramble to you can genuinely be life-changing advice to someone" This someone, is me. Thank you so much Izzy for your vulnerability, and Ali for using your platform to share her success story!
I struggle with self-consciousness and will sometimes avoid sharing my TH-cam videos on some of my platforms because I suddenly feel like I am "bothering" people or "I am not good enough to do this" or "I will be judged" so it's refreshing to see that other TH-camrs struggle with similar issues and even more refreshing to see how they have managed to overcome them to a great extent. Thanks for the video!
you can try sharing on the platforms which you use. if a certain platform has more people reacting negatively to your videos, then you can choose not to share on that platform. From my personal experience, the audience on TikTok are more judgmental and critical as compared to the ones on TH-cam. Maybe it's because TikTok originated from short form videos, our videos show up randomly at everyone's feed Regardless of how people react or respond to our videos, it's important for us to stay true to ourselves. Continue being the authentic you, you have something to offer to the world ❤
I don't understand people who write mean messages on people's youtube videos or other social media postings. If I don't like something, I prefer to say nothing. I prefer to spread kindness instead of negativity.
same here. but if you notice that same person keep polluting your channel with negative comments or challenging you in a hostile way, it's better to block him so as not to have him attract other negative people. some channels didn't bother to remove them as can attract views and traffic to their channels 😂 in some social groups, the moment they see any negative comments or attacking other members, they block and ban that person immediately. They want their space negativity free
I've just started my YT journey and this has been really inspirational to listen to and know that even super successful YTbrs are having the same struggles. Great work!
Many golden nuggets here. I grew my channel from 0-50,000 in 6 months mainly from Ali's advice, so just want to say thank you for that! Never heard of Izzy before this video, but you had a great vibe together and a lot of interesting insights
Hey Ali QUICK THOUGHT ! I would like to see you having interview with someone who is realtime beginner. This video was much needed! I started my TH-cam channel 3 months ago but had to stop posting for a month due to my busy schedule as a full time college student. I am so glad that this video has given me a new perspective to get back into editing and posting again. Thank you Ali and Izzy 😊💕

I totally agree that negative comments say more about the people who make the comments than you! If I don't like something, I just don't watch it but I never bother leaving negative comments or even disliking a video.
@@tomaszzieba315 Let me rephrase that for you, "If I know I'm gonna like the topic or content of a video I just don't watch it". Because believe it or not, a lot of people click on videos with the intention of leaving negative comments just because they didn't like the title. And it's easy for you to say not to read negative comments, but are you a creator? One major key about that breakthrough or skyrocketing is CONSISTENCY. Just believe it, a day will come when the light will shine on your channel. You definitely may not know the particular video, but just keep creating and keep adjusting to trends. It'll surely happen. BELIEVE it! 👍
Really great video. Esp the commitment points and death bed commitment is great for new youtubers. I have started my youtube channel just with this motivation.
This is so beautiful to see. Thank you both for sharing your journeys with us. You may not know how far it reaches, but you guys sharing your struggles with us is really humbling, and also so inspiring
You two were my inspirations to finally silent launch a channel this year. One month in and at 70 subs - I still feel butterflies everytime a new person joins my community. 🦋 It's an emotional journey for sure and I'm only one month in 🥹 Thank you for talking about all the areas that seldom get addressed with TH-cam help videos. It helps all of us feel less alone in the struggles we're overcoming with each upload.
About consistency: I found it super interesting how Ali don’t struggle with it but Izzy does. I can relate with Izzy! One factor, that comes to my mind is the female monthly cycles. A woman goes though monthly cycles of changes in energy to hormones. Certain days will be low and others will be filled with energy. A male body works on a daily cycle. It would be super interesting to learn more how that can impact and maybe a slight different approach that women, who feels this, can do. I know some women adjusting their schedule along with their menstrual cycle, example - not scheduling important meetings during first days of period etc. Thanks so much for a great video!! Super insightful!! 😊
@josephine9619 that is definitely something to consider since men have a 24 hour cycle and women mostly 28 days. I have noticed that I can be productive and rest during those days when my body needs it. This is way more aligned with the feminine body & its cyclical nature. It has helped me to stop feeling like I am not getting enough done. The book “The Optimized Woman” by Miranda Grey has been a life changer for me and other women I know. All the best for you! ✨😊
It is reassuring to hear that you guys still have TH-cam struggles even after all the success. Your channel was one of the reasons that I finally started on my channel. Thanks for the content!
Thank you Ali and Izzy for the heartfelt conversation. I started my own channel after going through the Part-Time TH-camr Academy $1 course and watching this video. You really helped me to face my own fear of putting something out there in public.
I love this interview, so much value to gain from watching it. I want to start a new youtube channel. My struggle is the editing and transitions.. every you tuber makes their videos sooo interesting, for mine, I just speak to a camera and leave it as is. Anyone with useful and genuine advice will help! Best of luck on all of your journey and thanks Ali for this inspiring interview.
I actually started a TH-cam channel last month thanks to hearing Ali talk about it, just going for it, and it's still super new but already seeing better results than I had expected so this is definitely a great encouragement forward
The comments here are encouraging i started a TH-cam channel last year March and i also quit my job which was toxic in December hope after getting this information i can be able to grow from 107 subscribers to 1000 subscribers and get monetized. Thank you for the video.
Ok, I am so copying Ali’s list of “reasons to film a video” to read it out loud to myself. So good! I always think similar thoughts before filming yet it’s easy for those to be mixed with doubts, having an actual list to read out loud seems like such a simple yet genius hack. Thank you!
Great chemistry!!! Thanks so much for sharing. I really appreciate the experience and insight from both perspectives. I really like it when you guys collab! This looks like "Feel Good Productivity" -- looks like a sunny tropical local with a beautiful, smart, accomplished young "star" student. Ali is so smart and fast-thinking that he overwhelms me. But his advice is really good. And Izzy balances him out and It's way easier for me to watch the whole video when she's in it and vice versa.
I might actually try that idea to be honest, lol. I feel like I have a ton of negative thoughts about the creative process that I need to let out and journaling is a way to do that.
I appreciate your input you two. It was so supportive! Ali, hope you don’t mind others using your five affirmations before making a video. I feel the need to use them myself. I loved hearing you both sharing your experiences!
Thank you, Ali, for all your trips and tricks. I started my youtube channel a few weeks ago and hoping it grows soon. I am trying to get better each day.
I needed this video - I just published my first real video for my new channel and my comments in my shorts are already only coming from random haters. It's hard to be motivated when the positivity I'm looking for hasn't come my way yet. I appreciate you!
Amazing video, kismet that this dropped because as a UN consultant and fitness model who are transitioning into TH-cam this is super relevant! Wishing everyone the best on their journeys and huge thanks to Ali/Izzy !!!! 🤩🤩
Thank so much for this video!, I keep dreaming that my travel channel would take off one day... And listening to you guys make me just so emotional and think... " i can do it" Thank you so a million times!
This is one of the best videos I have ever watched for TH-cam inspiration. So many lessons packed into one video, in an honest and open discussion. Thank you 🙏
Half way through and just have to say thank you both. Your energy is so supportive, loving, and authentic we can feel it through the screen ❤ Izzy your advice was absolutely needed and appreciated thank you so much for your thoughtful answers! Ali - you held space so well and I can’t wait to buy your book!
You've offered incredible inspiration Ali. I've grown my channel on book publishing to 15,000 over the last year. Really happy with that and am considering pivoting towards more productivity and more well-rounded side hustle based content in the future to help broaden the offering (whilst still keeping the main focus on book publishing)
This was really helpful, thank you, @Izzy. I started watching Izzy's videos recently and they're fantastic-- she deserves all the success she's getting. The PTYA has been really helpful; thanks to Ali and the team. Remaining equanimous in response to the art is very smart. A line I like to remember when putting art out into the world is, "The response doesn't belong to you."
Fabulous video. Loved how he’s interviewing her and then she flips it on its head and starts interviewing him. Her words of encouragement regarding negative feedback was 100% wonderful.
Great video, great content and great chemistry! You may want to consider more collaborations with Izzy. She sounds genuine like you, which I truly appreciate! Best wishes to both of you!!
I was hesitant to watch this video cause I have watched lots of videos addressing the same issues but none of them satisfied me the way this one did. I am so glad I clicked on this video. I think you should make more videos like this. A casual conversation talking about things most of us TH-camrs struggle with and giving practical tips. You both sound so clear and posh. LOVED THE VIDEO!
I have been following these 2 and they continue to inspire me to be consistent. I have been stuck in 570+ and i wish i could have achieved their numbers in 2 years
As someone with just a little over 100 subscribers, this video has been so helpful and relatable! Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and experiences :)
It is hard! As a full-time lawyer (barrister and solicitor all at once), I've been struggling to grow this channel for almost 2 years. The algorithm doesn't always seem friendly... but we still push on and hope that one day this year... we will be monetized.
This conversation is fantastic. Thank you. I'm 60 now, started YT for a few years then stopped and it's been a couple of years now... I recently realized I have limiting beliefs from how I was raised in a different era and culture, basically telling me some of the common ones mentioned here (imposter syndrome, who cares what i have to say, "ladies" are quiet in the background /YT is a very improper - narcissistic - thing...). I thought I had gotten most of this under control/understanding but 3 yrs ago i got into a depressed funk and i'm back to where i started from. Better now, but it really threw me. I plan to return very soon. Thank you for this! 🤗
This has been so motivating for me with starting my TH-cam Journey. Literally just listening to this while I work out and gaining knowledge and feeling to incorporate on my page. Thanks guys!
Thank you so much for this content, it was really useful for us, aspiring youtubers!! Izzy's view is refreshing and help us see things from a different perspective 🙏🙏
I am motivated seeing how Ali has grown, I can't wait. After a long time of contemplating, I finally started my channel 1 week ago. I had to start watching videos to keep me motivated. Thanks for sharing
Izzy, really shared all the struggles I had, especially the negative comments they really hurt but all the positive comments push me forward it's really nice. Thanks for these insights!
Yesss I love this so much, the two of you were a big part of why I finally started a channel just a month ago 💖I'm brand new to all of this and have so much to learn, but it's been so fun!
Exactly what I needed to hear. To focus on the original intent (the why!) of purpose and service rather than the metrics which can be demotivating at times.
Why are these two not dating, they are a perfect match!!! Two former medical students turned into TH-camrs!!! Perfect pair!!!! -- their online engagement would go up if they were a couple!!!!
Thank you so much @ali for always sharing insightful information. After I had my baby, I wanted to switch to a career that could allow me cater for myself, baby and support as a new mom, it was your video that encouraged me to start up my channel, am glad I started, the growth is coming gradually but am super grateful. Izzy's journey and perspective on growing a YT channel is all well and good, but I think one of the enjoyable aspects of this video is how Ali and Izzy enjoy lovingly looking at each other like ALL THE FREAKING TIME throughout the entire video at the early stage of their relationship. So nice
I just started my TH-cam journey and let me tell you it really is slow at growing. Its been really enjoyable so far and its a lot of fun. I've met some great people, but it takes a lot of time and life balance. Good luck to all the new youtubers out there i wish you all the success!!

100%!!
I completely agree with this.
@@judyjimenez8073 Thanks so much for your comment and for the book recommendation! I will check it out :) I'm excited to learn more!

Wow!! Just took a look and it looks like it's going really well for you now!! I'm inspired!! I'm still at 19 subs
Really appreciated her views on things. Izzy, thank you for dropping by!
Done Please ❤
The comments here are encouraging i started a TH-cam channel last year March and i also quit my job which was toxic in December hope after getting this information i can be able to grow from 107 subscribers to 1000 subscribers and get monetized. Thank you for the video.
This whole video brings so much comfort in me. I relate so much, and at the same time I’m motivated to do more and just be me.
One of the best interviews, thanks Ali and Izzy
A business journal! What a great idea! Thankyou for a great conversation x
For me I even need those haters as long as they interact on my channel
@@AMAZINGFactsStrangerThingsTRYNthe videos with comments from haters are my best performing so I’ll take it lol but sheesh 😅
My videos are better than his.😂
Done Please 🖤✅🖤✅🖤
All engagement is good engagement 😂 yt doesn't care what those haters feel, it's a win for you
Izzy seems so genuine and kind! Hearing her view on things was very inspiring and relatable. Thank you for sharing! ☺
I have 7 followers and I feel so blessed. I couldn't imagine 500,000 congratulations ❤
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I also hv only 7 subscribers, feeling sad😅😅
now you have 60. Keep going ❤
@@dinkudabesi now you have 12. Keep going ❤
Thanks again Ali! This was really helpful for someone like me who just started. Goodluck to everyone! I hope we all make it!
👊🤓
This is so encouraging for us who just started our channels. Thx for sharing
Done Please ❤🖤❤🖤❤❤
Fabulous video. Loved how he’s interviewing her and then she flips it on its head and starts interviewing him. Her words of encouragement regarding negative feedback was 100% wonderful.
Great video, great content and great chemistry! You may want to consider more collaborations with Izzy. She sounds genuine like you, which I truly appreciate! Best wishes to both of you!!
Thanks Ali and Izzy for sharing your story. It's great to hear the stories of others to inspire growth of my own YT channel!
She is so beautiful. Sweet and genuine. Could listen to her all day. ❤
i felt it so much when you were talking about consistency. my WHY is so strong!!!
This is exactly the video I needed to learn how to grow my TH-cam channel. Thanks Ali!
Done Please 🖤✅
I was hesitant to watch this video cause I have watched lots of videos addressing the same issues but none of them satisfied me the way this one did. I am so glad I clicked on this video. I think you should make more videos like this. A casual conversation talking about things most of us TH-camrs struggle with and giving practical tips. You both sound so clear and posh. LOVED THE VIDEO!
As someone who has currently got 7 subs, I laughed at the thumbnail so much. Thanks TH-cam algo for suggesting this.
I have been following these 2 and they continue to inspire me to be consistent. I have been stuck in 570+ and i wish i could have achieved their numbers in 2 years
Wow this is so cool! And I love how you’re interviewing a successful alumnus which really gives a lot of credibility to the course!
this was fun to watch you two are awesome ! ❤
omg what she shared about What they are talking about you is tells more about them - is so ON POINT! Im also here, starting my very first step!!
Thank you. And I love the enforcement of "it's more about them than you." It's so true in life, and in putting yourself out there.
I love the reminders that you wrote to yourself and shared them with us. That was amazing to hear and I'll definitely be borrowing some (all) of it!
Done Please 🖤✅
That bit about input vs output completely changed my perspective and makes do much sense
Who’s here after the news of them getting married? ❤️
Their vibe gave them away.. soo sweet
Ahahah me!!! The chemistry was there ahah
i was just about to comment that it seems Ali likes her 😊😊
This conversation is fantastic. 🤗
Absolutely love this video! So raw, real and great advice!
This has been so motivating for me with starting my TH-cam Journey. Literally just listening to this while I work out and gaining knowledge and feeling to incorporate on my page. Thanks guys!
This is a BRILLIANT interview!
i love the affirmations you read Ali before you film your videos, thank you for sharing about that!
Your videos are always informative and amazing. I've been watching u since 2 years. Thanks you for always helping us. Much love ❤️
Done Please ❤🖤❤🖤🖤
Izzy, really shared all the struggles I had, especially the negative comments they really hurt but all the positive comments push me forward it's really nice. Thanks for these insights!
Yesss I love this so much, the two of you were a big part of why I finally started a channel just a month ago 💖I'm brand new to all of this and have so much to learn, but it's been so fun!
Done Please ❤🖤❤🖤
As I just started my TH-cam journey, this video felt good !
Thank you for being so honest. It was inspiring to watch !
This video truly resonated with me. It was truly helpful and motivating! Thank you!
Exactly what I needed to hear. To focus on the original intent (the why!) of purpose and service rather than the metrics which can be demotivating at times.
this duo is EVERYTHING
Done Please ❤
Why are these two not dating, they are a perfect match!!! Two former medical students turned into TH-camrs!!! Perfect pair!!!! -- their online engagement would go up if they were a couple!!!!
Thank you so much @ali for always sharing insightful information. After I had my baby, I wanted to switch to a career that could allow me cater for myself, baby and support as a new mom, it was your video that encouraged me to start up my channel, am glad I started, the growth is coming gradually but am super grateful. Thank you for the amazing things you do! They are so practical
Thank you for putting your effort on this learning video 🌷🌷I love learning from you Ali Abdaal you’re an amazing teacher that have help many on their journey to creating TH-cam and business channel. I learn a lot from you guys.
Izzy's journey and perspective on growing a YT channel is all well and good, but I think one of the enjoyable aspects of this video is how Ali and Izzy enjoy lovingly looking at each other like ALL THE FREAKING TIME throughout the entire video at the early stage of their relationship. So nice
I’m growing from 0. Started from the bottom, now I’m here. Doctors and nurses gain subscribers super fast. Great video!
I got you on the sub my guy✊🏽 It’s always great seeing people start!
@@GPS_Limitless Thank you, I appreciate your support!
I just started my TH-cam journey and let me tell you it really is slow at growing. Its been really enjoyable so far and its a lot of fun. I've met some great people, but it takes a lot of time and life balance. Good luck to all the new youtubers out there i wish you all the success!!
I just needed this video ! Especially from a youtuber like you thank you!!
I love your work Ali. Thank you so much. You have helped me grow as a person. Love this video
always dropping value. appreciate you
*Ramadhan Mubarak, Yaa Ali! Wow All materials and lessona from this video will help me so much. This is what I need to build and grow a youtube channel from nothing in this year. Thank you sharing and educating. Keep up! 🍁🌿*

hey Ali. more than anything, the vibe you spread is just so joyful and uplifting. Love you, beautiful human. Thank you for existing. i absolutely love and adore you. thank you for being you. it's your kind that I feel make this place a brighter space to live in than it was previously.
Recommended after the wedding announcement - congrats Ali ❤
Thank you, thank you for this great video! I'm dealing with huge imposter syndrome and your interview with Izzy is freeing. ✨
