    Just started a big data engi intern position and I feel you! It's like half a semester of new stuff I'll need to learn. It's kinda overwhelming and scary coming in knowing almost nothing about data engi.

      Yeah it's a lot of stuff! But don't worry, you don't need to know or learn everything just in a few months. Take your time. You'll have many years to learn if you want to continue in data eng!

    Also I was wondering what your take on using ergodox for programming is - I've had a hard time getting efficient at large due to the symbol positions and I'm not sure if maybe my layout's the issue :)

    • @maria_sitkovets_tech
      @maria_sitkovets_tech  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! Using the ergodox is okay for me since I did switch around my layout but yeah I probably should move where my brackets are and my comma to make it easier because I use those a lot when programming. I'm not very fast at typing on it either but I think that's fine since I mostly use it for programming where I need to think and then code it. But I sometimes do use it for note taking and I should try getting faster for that

Just wanted to say: you would be much more comfortable if your monitor was about 20-30cm higher. You want the middle of the monitor level with your eyes, while sitting or standing upright. Give it a try!

      First of all thank you for watching my videos! And thanks for the suggestion. What do you use to prop up your monitor to be higher? Do you mean that I should be increasing the height of my desk or that I should put a textbook under my monitor stand or something?

      ooo good question! I think the best community is probably open source! Try going on github and finding data engineering repos that look interesting (you can start with the apache ones) and join any slack or discord servers they have. They might also have github issues labelled with 'good for beginner' or something like that which would help you try it out. Doing open source is like volunteering and you can do small tasks :) I hope this helps and thank you for following my channel 💖
