Tyler we also left Saigon in February this year, 4hr layover in Manila. 30minutes before our flight leaves for California they call my name report to gate 18 for luggage inspection. All for some knee medication. Almost missed my flight. I each time back thru security. I’m done with Manila next trip I schedule to Hong Kong then to Saigon. Been watching and telling people to watch you. I have learned so much from your videos. My wife is Vietnamese and we will probably be back the end of this year or at least before new years celebrations start 2025. I have a knee replacement in September then I’ll head back to good street food. Thanks again hope to meet you some day.
Welcome home, Tyler. Now, you're within driving distance (30 mins) from where I am. Unlike Vietnam, you won't be able to do any ally exploration here :). Have a nice and enjoyable stay while you're home - away from 2nd home. Looking forward to your vlog from the US of A!!!
You guys make a cute couple, hope you’ll find a way to be together whether in Vietnam or the US. Seems like Trang could fit in California quite easily.
Thanks for the real life video of the brutally long flight from Vietnam to LAX. You really gave me that anxiety feeling of flying to and from Vietnam. It is a real cattle cart feeling. Business class didn't look all that much better than Premium Economy, but costs thousand$ more. Keep up the good work, and I hope to see your culture shock video of life back in LA. I know that you will be shock at how much a typical MacDonald's meal will cost you in LA. Looking forward to the next video of life back in LA.
@@BigTimeBentleylucky you. Next time you are here bring your gf with you. Mine will be here next month. I know the visa process can be a challenge but with some luck she will get it. Take care
"Smells like history" best line of the video. My experience is anytime you enter a new country they make you go through security again even if you're just transferring to another flight. It does suck but I guess they have their reasons. Great job brother safe travels and welcome home!
Congrats on surviving the flight. It was brutal for us traveling with a 1 year old although we did a 24 hour layover in South Korea which was fun and helped to break it up. Two years ago we did Singapore to Seattle and that flight was 18 hours non stop and that was the worst flight I’ve ever been on! Have a good time while you’re back here in the states.
Thanks Robert! Yeah that's a long one for sure. I did the Singapore to LA flight which was over 15 hours...made a video about that years ago one of the first videos on my channel
I’ve heard HCMC is building a new airport, but Vietnam Airlines will be the only Vietnamese airlines flying out of it. Hopefully that eases congestion at both
I love always watching your video and your moments with your girlfriend Trang. Did I miss the moment in the video with you saying goodbye to Trang before your trip as I did not see?
You missed the Solar Eclipse. Are you returning back to Vietnam and how long are you staying in the United States. Have Trang ever visited the United States?
i agree about the airport, they dont have clear signs saying where the Security gate is, so i asked them green uniform guys , they asked for 200k, my firend said just give it, they proceed to let us go through without waiting in line, lol , express lane.
I can imagine doing a 14 hr flight 😢 I think it would be good to make a stop somewhere for a week or more - if traveling that far. If you don’t have to rush thru it I don’t see a reason to cross crossing the globe like that 😜 specially If you’re self employed
@@BigTimeBentley enjoy your time with your loved ones. I bet u find its way more expensive to live in California comparing to Vietnam, huh? That’s the downside alright.
The most stupid thing I ever had to do a few years ago going through a security check was taking of my Thongs ( flip flops ) when going through Ngurah Rai airport in Bali on my way back to Australia they even put them through the X Ray scanner !
Filipino ppl are very friendly. A lot of southeast Asians are friendly, Lao ppl are the friendliest and most genuine. But the problem is a lot of southeast Asians don't speak English.
Just starting to watch your channel. Kinda curious about Trang and your relationship. How long have you been dating? How long have you been in Vietnam?
I'll be back in Vietnam in a few weeks...spending time with family is the top priority...do some fun LA things here too, and do some vlogs for sure. I definitely want to do some Vietnamese food vlogs here in the US

It is pointless to have luggage wrapped, because if the Customs people decide to check it, they will rip the wrapping, so you would have wasted your money.
I must say Tan Son Nhat is just as TERRIBLE as Manila Airport when it comes to immigration and security , however it's worse for people who go to America. Really friendly the lady in business class😅
To avoid all the hassle in TSN security operations you should take the special service called First Thing First in Vietnamese “Thũ Tục Đầu Tiên”. Only locals like Trang would know what it means.
you should not come back to vietnam again, it is enough experienced what vietnam life was ...so you stay in usa and look for the job,,your life is in usa not in vietnam

yeah true I won't have many alleys to explore. Maybe I should do a "Good Morning America" daily vlog series?
Welcome back to 🇺🇸 🎉
Awaiting your Little Saigon video from California.
Maybe one day Trang will go with you to visit the USA 🇺🇸
for sure! thank you! looking forward to making a Little Saigon visit and definitely looking forward to a future trip here with Trang too

I love Eva air! I have taken that flight 4 times in the last 4 years and it’s brutal!
1) always get aisle seating!
I don't know if I've done Eva Air before but yes, always aisle seating!
Oh man, you gotta make a stop up in San Jose too!

I don't think I'll make it up to Nor Cal unfortunately

I don’t get it why everything needs to start with Dank. Is that another word for MJ?
I think it's better if you are connecting your flights from Vietnam to the USA in Japan or Korea.
I've done that too...but this ticket was significantly cheaper

how long was the layover in Manila? We usually fly EVA and connect via Taiwan with a short 2 hour layover.
