@@Schule04 I'm no lawyer but under Penal Code 591 PC, which is the code for purposefully disconnecting phone, electrical or utility lines, this penalty can carry up to three years of a felony charge in prison. (And one year in country prison under a misdemeanor charge) If it did hit the pylon I believe it'd count under accidental which then it would be up to the court to decide - which, as they have video evidence, may carry no sentence. But hey, i'm no lawyer 😊

I was expecting the crash detection to be triggered only if it was an intense crash with the car being completely totalled. But even with your first test when the crash was light at low speed the phone picked it up. Honestly impressive.

It’s good that it’s delayed (because just as you crash you go into kind of a surprised or don’t know what happened situation) so by the time the countdown starts you’re back to your senses.
I think the crash detection is delayed so you have time to respond to it... If you are in a crash, you will be a bit shocked and not react fast enough to the phone beeping
Also Also, i can imagine, if you're in shock because you just crashed and ur Iphone instantly goes BEEP BEEP BEEP you just gonna get overwhelmed with everything, and it wouldn't really be helpful

@@sj-red I think it’s supposed to be designed so if you can’t call it triggers a call regardless. A delay is helpful so that way if you are not rendered unconscious or are not pinned with no access to a phone you have a couple seconds for the adrenaline to subside and you can properly access the situation. You can always deny the emergency call then call again later if you need to if your awake.
This is so impressive. I officially feel like retiring from making youtube videos after watching this. Mad respect for actually going extra mile for making this possible❤
And a nice one at that......really hurt my heart to see. Wish he would've used like a Chevrolet Aveo or something that is a crappy vehicle to begin with. Of course he had to ruin a good condition Grand Marquis though....
@@crimsonstang If you replaced the radiator, front end bumper and clip, and the hood, that car would still go forever. May not look pretty again, but like you said it shows the durability and reliability of Panthers
Love the absolute killer video, suggestion for future. (Even passengers would get the crash detection message, keep one of your YouT videos playing and it may still activate, and it wont turn off the phone :D)
I would say this was a good durability test for Mercury grand marquis, Lincoln town car, and Ford Crown Vic. Didn't realize those could handle a frontal that well. The airbags deployed the point it made contact. I bet if you shut it down after the big hit, took the hood off, switched the radiator out, and changed the coolant and transmission fluid it would've continued to be a running test vehicle.
I actually own a 2005 Mercury grand marquis gifted from my grandpa and I got into a car accident a week ago and it drove home with no leaks nothing and I'm gonna be repairing it and keeping it because it saved my life and I walked away unscathed the air bags didn't even deploy
@@acecarreviews883 Keep her going and she'll save you again. Make sure to double check your airbag system just because and if there's any minor cracks in the front anywhere you can weld them up.

@@foxisretrofitting4556the airbags only deploy if the impact and deceleration are big enough. I totaled my 2002 Grand Marquis. Hard frontal offset with a 3 quarter ton truck. The entire crash support cleared the truck's frame so the impact went completely into the body of the car. That car saved me. Immediately bought a 1998 Lincoln Town Car afterwards. I put 75k miles on that thing and loved every second of it. Great cars.
The reason for the delay is when you initally crash, you try and figure out what happened and come back to your senses, especially if you hit your head but are still conscious, then when youre at least alert, youll be able to react to the alarm

I reviewed both the Apple Watch Series 8 and iPhone 14 and tried to come up with a way to test this, so hats off to you! If I had them longer I would have talked one of the local destruction derby drivers into taking it onto the track.

it might not detect huge crashes as most accelerometers are just not designed for larger g impacts
