I’ve been a fan of this channel for over a year now and I’ve always enjoyed it, but I do have a bone to pick with this particular video. Why did they feel the need to enhance the wreck of the cyber truck in the thumbnail when in the actual video, the front end of the truck, or more precisely, the bumper, was nowhere near the damage it looked like in the thumbnail? You guys have a great channel and don’t need to do click bait crap like that!
I'll go further. Exaggerated clickbait thumbnails get an immediate "do not recommend channel" reaction from me.

@@Stylofo4m , Well he’s wrong, in that I won’t be watching or “clicking” on as many videos now because I feel duped and no longer feel I can trust the thumbnails to be representative of what will be in him videos. From some on the comments in this thread I see I’m not alone in this. Not saying I won’t ever watch another of his videos again, but with each time this type of thing happens I lose more and more of my interest in following and eventually will just unsubscribe. Like I’ve done with other channels. He doesn’t need to do this crap! Unfortunately it must be getting harder in this industry to get people’s attention and make money because so many channels are resulting to doing this crap, so many formally trusted channels!

100%, got rear ended and the other driver wanted to give us $1,000 and the police didn't want to write a report and said that was fine if we wanted to take it as they thought it was under the reportable amount for damage. Got them to do the report and filed a claim, $4,000 in damages! They hit us hard enough to not only bend the side panel but a rear door (despite them going from stopped into us at a traffic light so you can imagine how hard they accelerated thinking I had turned right on red).
@@Davoodoox1 if it's just a ding then I'd go on my way, they will raise your insurance rates for being in an accident that wasn't even your fault... thus costing you thousands in the long run. I just accept that insurance is mostly a scam and I just see it as yet another tax, everything is corrupt beyond belief so I have no faith in systems that are supposed to "help you out." My insurance has done absolutely nothing for me.

So how does this whole insured motorist ordeal work? Someone uninsured hits you and it's 100% their fault, but because they're uninsured, you file a claim with your own insurance company. Your car gets repaired, then your own insurance company penalizes you with a rate increase?
Yep. In theory they go after the non insured person to recoup losses, but you can’t get water out of a stone.
@@bohan9957 and just wait until the end of this year. Uninsured motorist will be so much more expensive because people can't afford to pay their insurance (with current rate increases) so they are driving uninsured anyway. Insurance is seeing a major increase in that case so they are passing the charges on to everyone. You're going to start to see massive rate increases. I hate that no one is talking about that yet ...but I guarantee you it's coming. It's already a major problem in GA.

Depends largely on your insurance provider and your specific plan. Ideally, the insurance company will pay for the damages without making you pay for a copay, or refunding your copay later on
@@towcat they will tell you that...but you will be paying one way or another at renewal I assure you. Same was supposed to be said for home insurance on roof claims. Was supposed to cost you nothing, then all home owners insurance went up drastically with a letter to the effect of..."due to roof claims last year...blah blah blah"

Yeah the main difference was that one clip was in nighttime and one in daytime. All CCD sensors struggle with low light conditions, including the ones Tesla use, so without a radar unfortunately once in a while when the conditions are just right (or wrong, rather) FSD will fail to see an obstruction, or will see it very late. In the nighttime clip the CCD based FSD was probably extra confused because the road signs up in the distance were reflecting off the road surface right next to the deer (pause at 7:28 and you'll see what I mean), along with the horizontal lines painted on the road right next to the deer. Seems like a perfect storm of factors to confuse a CCD based FSD, a storm that a radar based one would not have been confused by.
@@MH-Teslathat was me with the deer one. I also kept getting errors and still do during night time driving that “FSD might be degraded due to one or more cameras are clouded” I cleaned most of them mostly every time and still get same error only during night time day time they work perfect.
@@hp8731 You need to re-calibrate your cameras. That's why you getting those issues. Go to the service menu and select the option to calibrate cameras. Your problem should be solved once complete
That car is not being driven by FSD it may occasionally change lanes inappropriately it does not meander like a drunk driver.
To Timothy Nguyen and everyone else, if you can't stop and offer your dashcam at the time of the accident but still want to give it, call the police's non-emergency line for the area of the crash.

I carry a supply of sticky notes with my name and email on them and hand them to the drivers involved so they can request a copy of the video if they want. Takes all of two minutes to tell them I have it on dash cam and give them the sticky (which they can stick on their dash or wherever for retrieval later). So far only one person has asked for a recording.

No.12 was crazy - when you have an open warrant, you shouldn't be acting like that! "He's been to jail already for a DUI and he summoned his wife to say she was the one driving" - serves him right to be arrested on the spot!
for all those distracted drivers - that's why here in Europe many drivers have manual cars - so you need both hands for driving!

If people can do something to take their eyes off the road they will...and if they can't - they will find a way !

Most people manage it anyway.
Also, manual is losing popularity here too. Increasingly automatic is the default, as price is coming down. And in case of more powerful cars, it reduces wear and tear too.
@andrasbiro3007 my father recently switched to automatic and I enjoy it. The ease which you can drive away is amazing. Not the awkwardness of getting used to shifting an unknown car. Also I feel it frees up some of your attention. Instead of shifting and thinking about how to do it properly you can spend more time on your surrounding. As used to it people get.

My issue with automatic is the huge delay. especially combined with turbo lag.
You may not notice if you are a timid driver, but it's a deal breaker for assertive drivers.
I preferred manual because I could shift into the gear I knew I'll need in next.
But the real solution is an electric powertrain. No shifting, no revving up, no turbo lag, just instantaneous torque, and lots of it.
Where t-bone? A scrape on a bumper is not a t-bone
(Dont get me started on 12k for an unpainted metal bumper formed on krytens head)

A T-Bone is where someone is going across in front of you and you hit them, making a T. You don't have to total a vehicle to T-Bone someone.

There's no minimum speed or damage requirement to qualify as a T-bone. With that being said, the other vehicle was totaled.

If you drive without insurance there needs to be a massive penalty. How about a minimum 1 day prison sentence and wage garnishments to cover the accident costs plus additional fine.

I lost my liberty the second I signed with them. Since when should MY insurance go up by $200 a year just because other drivers in the area are having more accidents than normal??? My record is perfect with no accidents at all, charge the people causing the accidents instead of everybody. Plus they lied to me, said my car is now worthless because it hit 10 years old, said they'd pay out $4,000 on a $7,000 car. Contacted my insurance broker who said the average payout for my car is $15,000 and that LM was lying to me, and that they apparently do this a lot.

1 month for a simple body repair is actually criminal
Body repair is never simple, especially with new model cars. There’s so much unseen damage. It took my friend over 2 weeks to get her 3 year old Subaru fixed with less front end damage.
My rear bumper got clipped and there was no noticeable damage that couldn’t be fixed with just a new bumper, but my car was deemed totaled 🤦🏻♂️
$115,000 for the repair is criminal.
I have a friend who used to work a different car company and T bones are one of the hardest things to deal with. It’s really hard to distinguish from “vehicle stopping at junction/lights and vehicle going straight through. By the time you recognise the other vehicle isn’t slowing down, it’s too late to react. And if you stopped whenever you saw a vehicle approaching from the side, you’d be braking at every junction-especially in the US where so many people seem to run red lights compared to European cities.

The decision to declare a vehicle a total loss is based on the cost of repairs minus the residual cost of the vehicle. So $12k USD will total a $10k vehicle but not a $100k vehicle.
For those that don’t know what to do in an a accident:
Call 911,
while calling if safe to do so, get the others vehicle information (plates, year, make, model) as well as their contact, name, phone, email.
Next get pictures of the accident both their car and yours
Following that I’d recommend contacting your insurance on the scene of the accident although this is up to you and what your schedule looks like
At the very end of the incident the officer that should have arrived will give you the report with the case number, and other details that you will give to your insurance. (If your insurance SC you will either need to bring this into the DMV or get a suspended license, or your insurance will take care of it, just confirm with them)
REALLY IMPORTANT NOTE, what the officer writes down as who is at fault is not legally binding, it is just what they see at the time and can be disputed and often times your insurance companies will and can change this.
If you have any questions just let me know!! I’m not a pro but I’ve been in an accident and I’ve been in some friends accidents and helped them with the whole thing.

1) Lower overall cost of ownership (fuel & maintenance) - insurance... not so much, so factor that in
2) If Tesla: Supporting the most US made car & company available
3) No more soldiers being wasted on war-for-oil
4) Breaking oil-companies stranglehold on our economy by offering options
5) Supporting significant advancements in the automotive world (the reluctance PM motor is a marvel - reminds me of the supercharged / turbocharged Lancia Delta from the group B days.
I'd more likely go for a Chevy Bolt VS Tesla right now due to the much lower overall outlay. Probably charge and park any EV ~ 40' from the house or in an expendable shed until battery failure is nearly non-existent. Speaking of - we (all of us) might want to start carefully monitoring and disposing of the old lithium Ion/Polymer batteries in our lives. I fear a wave of losses as batteries older than 15 years decay to the point of self-igniting. It happens.
Check out the Business Insider video about the Model X's crash rating. They specifically show and explain why the Model X doesn't rollover.
I'm almost certain that the model X (and any tesla for that matter) has some of the highest NHTSA ratings for rollover safety because of the low center of gravity from the battery cells - judging by that video, it would take a t-bone at 100mph+ to actually get the Tesla to come even close to rolling over. shocking indeed.

Its only 12K.. any other vehicle would have been a total loss, There is a lot of qustionable design choices when it comes to the cybertruck but its outside durability is hardly one of them.
If the car in #7 actually is in FSD, Tesla owes everyone a BIG f-n apology. That was horrible.

You can get the tag, then cancel the insurance.

There's a massive problem involving fraudulent or fake temporary tags as well. That's why you should avoid and stay clear of anyone with temporary tags.

OK let's see the cybertrucks weight in tons, it's around 7 tons. If we're just counting trucks that aren't industrial it's the same weight as a Ford f650. A truck with yes a bigger size but is used for not driving around but being used for the industry. So you go off and kiss your Elon photo in your room and dream about having a truck that can't be washed driving in water or pull any weight.
The difference between Harsh's deer encounter and Rob's was that the former was at night, the latter during the day. That's likely to be a very important factor.

7:25 - Radar should be a mandatory requirement for any sort of driver assist tech. In the first instance the deer was all but invisible until WELL into the headlight's splash, increasing contrast sufficiently for the cameras - which, on Teslas, seem to miss a LOT that only human eyes can see very, very clearly - to record it but clearly not identify it as a threat as a radar return echo would have. In the second instance it was daylight, high contrast, no mistaking even for the 8086 version of Tesla computers to identify.
The driver clearly didn't see it until it was right up in the headlights either that's when they hit the breaks. No one can tell if the car would've hit the brakes and/or swerved just in time like the many other examples of it doing so. Supposedly the driver commented that it kept giving him errors that the cameras were cloudy yet he decided to keep it active. FSD is still a driver assist not a taxi.
Also, clearly the camera only system is doing well enough based on its driving record to say how radar is so much superior that it needs to be mandated.
Other automakers are dropping radar too. Automakers are actually looking at the data from their cars and finding that radar, although it may reduce some accidents, increases others.
1. The driver said he saw the deer, but waited for FSD to react. That means visibility wasn't an issue.
2. The driver also said that he got error messages saying that the cameras aren't working properly.
3. The car was weaving in the lane, which also shows that FSD's performance was severely degraded. It was clearly unsafe to use.
4. Radar is very low resolution and very noisy. It's barely good enough to avoid moving cars. And it's very bad at detecting stationary objects.
5. Living things don't reflect radar signals well. Radar is mainly for tracking metal things that are good reflectors.

FSD didn't detect a deer for me either, running parallel a few meters away, then turning to run in front of me. That's something important where I live.

The fsd one that was swerving around, he probably kept pulling it out of fsd because the car moving by itself freaks new drivers out. Odds are FSD wasn't engaged at the time the deer came out. I drive a brand new Y and have zero issues with FSD.

Just this weekend I’ve witnessed two potential accidents (good thing the people were paying attention) and an actual accident that happened on my way back home. Too many people have this mindset of “won’t happen to me” and are overly confident on their multitasking skills while driving.
The journalistic gymnastics they went through to avoid telling us he was black. 😂😂 They just can't help but try and hide the truth from us because, you know, we might have the wrong feelings about all that.

With Harsh's video, i think the lines on the road (used for timing speed from the air) and that it was night, confused FSD.

We did a stainless wrap on a Cadillac and you had to drive it like you were an invisible car.

14 - The shades of white, grey/silver, and black on vehicles can make them "invisible" to other drivers in certain weather conditions, which is what was going on here. Completely overcast......otherwise, according to driving regulations, it's dark outside. And this means you should have your headlights on. These shades of white, grey/silver, and black can mimic the shades and shadows of a dark road, shadows on the streets, darker colors of streets, and go "invisible" when being in certain areas of your windshield that are reflecting shadows, different shaded road areas, and darkness, even light shadows.
This is why the professional drivers tell you to ALWAYS drive with your headlights on. Which I've been doing for decades now.
9 - Driving regulations are different on city streets than they are on the highway. On city streets that have 3 lanes on each side, the left lane is for slower forward traffic, the right lane is for slower turning traffic, and the CENTER lane is for THRU traffic that is not planning to stop and make any turns. So this truck driver is definitely a dickhead.
7 - What do I think? I think these cars are still deadly and dangerous. Trusing YOUR life and others lives and property to a NEW and UNTRUSTED technology is THE STUPIDEST thing anybody with a working brain can do.
By all laws in all states, in all countries, it is illegal to be driving "distracted" by ANY means......and results vary, depending on the severity of the crash...which can lead to a felony in most countries, including the USA.

I commend the drivers who called, pulled over to render aid. So many dashcams I have seen motorists just drive on. The bystander effect is just as dangerous as being responsible for the crash. God bless those who care enough.

I’m going to say this as someone who was in the Navy, sonar/radar is far superior to vision only & there’s a reason why it’s still used by EVERY modern military in the world. From personal experience, one time I was looking out through night vision binoculars and could only see two other ships near us. However as soon as you sent over to the radar you could see three other ships & a couple of subs.
The simple fact is removing the sonar/radar does NOT make Tesla a safer vehicle & I’d argue it makes them more dangerous than any other vehicle that also doesn’t have the sonar/radar because those drivers aren’t thinking an FSD software is going to keep them from an accident. At the end of the day it was a stupid cost savings move and/or thinking they had to reinvent the wheel, either way it was stupid to remove them.

#14 Look closely at the beginning. The Tesla turned onto the road behind a black car. You can see it speed up in the turn lane (through the Tacoma's window), then pass the black car before swerving to the right lane and hitting the truck. Granted, the truck shouldn't have tried to beat the black car by punching the gas, but the Tesla was in the turn lane when he did.
i was in our tesla model Y and , i saw a 4 car pileup 3 mins away from my house , and several crashes had happened there before , 2 of the cars were flipped and there was 1 non-fatal injury. what happened was 1 of the cars lost traction and slid across the 2 way road (near collingbourne ducis , england ) into 1 car , witch was in the other lane , that car flipped and hit the one behind and infront of it.
