    Very nice. I've found that a lot of plants can root quite easily, but take a long time to do so.
    To me easy rooting = high success rate, not fast rooting. I've had cuttings that root in days, but will have less than 5% actually root before they die....to me that's a difficult to root plant. Meanwhile I've had other plants like the Australian lily pilly which took over 18 months for some cuttings, but a roughly 100% success rate.
    I've learned that if a cutting didn't die, just leave it be, even if it's been a long time.

    I was really hoping it would work in water. Apparently if you take cuttings in summer us best and quickest to root but you can do it with the softer growths in winter and will take about 3 months to root. I'm judging from the accent your in England so the colder climates may slow down the rooting a bit too. Off to try this and glad I don't have to faff about with rooting hormone.

    • @westlondongardener4476
      @westlondongardener4476  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Lisa, yes I'm in the UK....I think the optimal time to do this is in mid spring as they are getting into growth mode (i started mine a bit later maybe like june which in hindsight is a bit late).... take loads of cuttings too. I wish i could show you my jasmine cutting now...it is a strong healthy plant and ready to take off this year. I will do an update on it in a few months 💗

As my garden is small, im still trying to decide where to put it! But i'm considering climbing it up against an arch. I prefer to put plants in ground but due to snall space, its not always an option.
