On Saturday 5th July 1997, I first visited Milan on my own, and extensively rode the metro with a 24 hour pass, I think, LIT 2500, somewhere about 1.30 EUR back then. I was staying in QT8 and rode the M1 between QT8 and downtown (Duomo). The rolling stock at the time resembled that of @0:53, had a different paint job and the doors were the original ones from the mid 1960s. I have since visited Milan six times up to 2011, at that time the M5 was yet to come into service. The Meneghinos on M1 and M2 were the latest rolling stock at the time, and I rode an M2 Meneghino from Cologno Nord to Lanza, but the Leonardos were not yet in service. At the time, my favorite line was the M3, the stations on that line did not look quite as "creepy" (my impression) as the inner city stations on the M1 and M2, though I found the Loreto interchange station to be nicely refurbished in 2011, compared to 1997. Who remembers the summer of 2003? I visited Milan in August 2003 and rode the M1 from Sesto 1 Maggio to Loreto, there was not one single Meneghino on that line back then. I am considering to return to Milan in February 2025, after visiting Reggio Emilia, and try out the M4 and M5.

Spero che un domani anche la 1 e la 3 non diventino come la 4 o la 5 ovvero driverless (senza conducente a bordo) la 2 sarebbe impossibile per i vari tratti in superficie
@@Mezziditrasportochannel assolutamente ma credo che non farebbero per gli alti costi tra porte a zanzariera e impianti di areazione, in più i sindacati sarebbero in ribellione. La 4 e la 5 sono treni metropolitani leggeri, poco frequentati e lì se viene progettato da capo il sistema è fattibile ma la conversione costa parecchio perché ci sarebbe da riprogettare l'intero tracciato (esempio caso Norimberga )
