A 500-metre (1,640ft) snow corridor along the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route has opened to the public for two months. From April 15 until June 25, 2022, visitors can explore the majestic mountain path surrounded by snow walls as high as 20 metres (66ft). The corridor connects Toyama and Nagano prefectures, reaching a maximum altitude of 2,450 metres (8,038ft). The winter landscape is normally available through spring, until warmer weather starts melting the walls.

Japan is the land of wonders and in fact it is land of wonder itself
its not just a land of wonders, its a wonder of lands and a wonderland
Descipline and cleanliness is Japan's pride
Amazing how well they ploughed the road - spotless. The wall of ice is also nearly perfect.
This was one of the highlights of my trip yrs ago, and I gotta say, the experience worth every penny.
Those that went this year are so lucky as the crowd won't be as much as how it used to be
A magical land of covered snow, such incredible scenery😍
Japan never fails to amaze the world🥰.
I can remember the old Mariokart track seeing this

Snow melts slowly over 2 months
yes.
Amazing
Its all fun and games until a car breaks down in the middle of the road
Nice, yes, but am surprised the snow is not all black from all those traffic splashing up dirt?
This looks like Sinnoh's Route 216 from Pokemon Diamond & Pearl. How's that even possible? 😮
Lot to cover in History 😄
Frappe Snowland!
so this is where the mario kart track is inspired from
Isnt it really prone to landslides or avalanches since ice isnt that sturdy
Snow melts slowly over 2 months
their snow is too mannered from doing that
Why there is no snow on road, or blockage of road because of snowfall!?
It's like Mario Kart

Global warming *knock knock*
Global warming doesn’t mean less snow
soon great valley of death
surprised climate change hasnt ruined this yet
China endorsing Japan 😂😂😂
Political and historical relations aside
They have been economic partners for a while now, with Japan exporting and importing with China.
But that's beside the point, SCMP has featured almost all of Asia, even Taiwan
SCMP ain't no CCP media you fool 🙄
ask any Chinese what their favorite country is. most will say Japan. not Korea.
@@thelastdefenderofcamelot5623 According to a 2017 BBC World Service Poll, mainland Chinese people hold the largest anti-Japanese sentiment in the world, with 75% of Chinese people viewing Japan's influence negatively, and 22% expressing a positive view.
🙋
Instead watch herbin ice festival
Looks boring it's literally a 15 maybe 20 ft wall of snow all around you I rather sleep in ☺️
That whole place would be flooded if it got warm….
Fumio Kishida should appreciate nature's gift for peace and tranquility and not foolishly destroy it with war.
