Whatever one might say about the ability of China to strike US military bases, we can also say about Chinese bases, ships, and other assets as well. The USA has literally hundreds of bases around the world. China will expend a lot of missiles, if not all, in the opening rounds of a war, gain very little in the long run, lose all US business, most if not all business from US allies, which happen to be most if not all of the rich nations in the world, and then China will lose the war in the long term as well when US forces obliterate all Chinese bases, naval fleets, air force, and other assets. For these reasons, China desires a war with the USA every bit as little as the USA desires a war with China. As the Chinese say, it is way more desirable to do business than to wage war.
It is the US that is threatening the peace of other countries. The main discussion in other countries is centered on trade and cooperation. It is the US that is always imagining wars and calling on these selected "experts" to discuss same on media, as a means of getting the plebians on course. If China is investing heavily in military, it is understandably a counter measure to the US hegemonic tendency that is so evidently displayed in her policy to torpedo the progress of others by all means, including war.
This isn't shocking at all especially when you have an admin that could care less about the American people and our country but keeps a tsunami of illegal aliens into the country. What makes it worse if tip officials keep sounding the alarm but the admin is acting deaf.

Each base needs to be able to defend against 1,000 missiles all within a 24 hour period. They require an upgrade.

There was recently a discussion in your government about military spending. A large portion on that spending goes towards overpriced parts. They held a small bag of bushings going at a 90,000 dollar price tag. That's corruption to enrich a few on the tax payer.
