To be honest, to me the only appealing thing about this game is how pretty it looks. The story just feels extremely cliche and predictable, the character introduction is also too swift, brief, and thus too shallow for me to even really get invested in the story. Game also just keeps showing you what you have to do next. "Oh it's showed me this, I bet I have to get this!"
I remember watching someone play this back in 2017 and recently I found out that the soundtrack was done by Steven Wilson (although all the tracks are just instrumental versions of songs he's already made).
Add dialogue so you know what characters are saying, and this would make a phenomenal animated movie. Watching it, rather than playing it, would also spare us the “going round in circles” treatment 😅
Nice review! Artistically speaking, the decision to not have the characters have eyes in such a personable narrative seems like a silly decision being they are the windows to the soul and all. Still have to play Into The Woods before this but I do plan on picking it up.
Game is on sale at PS store currently*** $5 USD, appears to be available on EU stores as well for comparable prices. So I can piece some things together based on the scenes you used for your review, not to mention you were starting to spoil some of the story right at the beginning of your review. I'm not a fan of spoiler reviews and this ruined some things for me by trusting your review to keep things under wraps. Maybe in the future keep things very simple as far as giving story details or using game scenes that don't depict climactic points. To me if a game like this has the story spoiled then there's really little to no need to play it, as it seems more like a walking simulator than an action adventure or platformer. That, or put spoilers in the title of your review. I come to find out about fun factor, if the cost is worth the plunge, gameplay mechanics, and lastly if it works from a technical standpoint.
That's kinda a prejudice tbh... If you can watch TV shows, movies, etc., then you can watch cutscenes. Inb4 "If I play a game, I want to play a game. If I want to watch something, then I'll just watch a movie or something"... I know. It's still narrow-minded imo
Randomly picked this game to stream with the new ps plus and was surprised. It reminded me of the movie UP too. Definitely wouldn’t buy it but its a good game. Very different.

This review made the game look boring af, something the terrible, vague trailer didn't show any of. Yeah the story might be fun to go through, and the artstyle/soundtrack might be nice, but if i'm not having fun with a GAME, what's the point in playing it? I've played my fair share of storydriven games and enjoyed them immensely (Life is Strange/Heavy Rain/Detroit/TellTale/Ace Attorney/Visual Novels) so I'm not hating on them. I don't want to go through monotonous, repetitive puzzles
