Shall we interview Yufei again?
Baklava is a dessert, balaclava is closer to what you meant with that skull mask thing
Oh! That’s right!
@@FightCommentary The skull thing is called a "neck gaiter." Balaclavas cover the top of the head as well.
I am hungry now
@kundi9211 Yeah, Baklava is pretty good... 🤣
However, it is possible to eat Baklava while wearing a balaclava.
The guard was actually working pretty well. The guy still couldn't hit to save his life, but his guard is actually working. Of course, that's because Yufei seemed to be headhunting him for most of the fight instead of going for that wide open belly.
No, he doesn't have a chance against Xu. Xu would steamroll over him in seconds.
Imagine kicks to the body from somebody of average capabilities let alone anybody talented. I almost feel like Yufei didn't go for the body 'cause it wouldn't have been an interesting fight. He did once in the beginning successfully and didn't do it again
agreed. im surprised he didnt take the open body shots when hes in that guard lol
@@seraphinaaizen6278 terrible guard style, unless you can use a backhand. His guard style basically eliminates his left hand from use because his punches from that position are too telegraphed.
@ Okay....?
The point wasn't that is was good. The point was that it seemed to actually be working.
Takes guts to fight full contact in a flowing shell pink evening gown
Chen Yufei looks like a street fighter character 😂
He IS a street fighter character!
The guard name is "i want to eat my own glove in the process"
I think taiji guy found the bug in the boxing/MMA rules: the guard. The large gloves can be an advantage if used as a shield. He found the bug in the system!
Jokes apart, it might be funny but I like when a fighter tries peculiar ways of guard, stance or punching, in attempt to find something new that works. At least, Mohammad Ali invented the lead hand stance in boxing.
Good on the young guy for not hurting him. No one should be knocking out these old dudes... they seem like silly old codgers that maybe had a day a long time ago. All far to slow to present a serious offence and to easily damaged. Tell them you won't entertain the idea if they are the instigators.
Thai Chi guy used modified Ward-Off left as a static guard in front of his jaw.
I was thinking a static cloud hands.
It's like half of the diamond guard that George Foreman used, or like a Dracula Guard in Muay Thai. Protects the chin. Not too shabby!
Dracula Guard is an awesome name!
@@FightCommentary Archie Moore used it sometimes. He's one the best defensive boxers in history. Norton and Fullmer used it too, as did Toney and Holyfield occasionally.
@@dasbongo1740those guys called it the cross guard. I was amazed by how dynamic Moore’s movement was with it, slipping deep and then coming back with crosses and uppers. Not mummy-like like Foreman’s.
Maybe he was talking trash while covering his mouth.
Tai Chi mastering using the boxing cross guard lol
Shout out to you bro for doing the 52 blocks research!
Do you have any favorite 52 blocks combos or movement you like?
@ I like how Dustin Porier in the UFC uses his 52.
You can even see it in his “crazy monkey” head defense when doing ground game (he’s from Louisiana and was locked up as a teen, so probably learned the style from there)
I also like Coach Pillow Fists recent video on guard flow which takes certain 52 blocks and adapts it for boxing
"If 52 Blocks robbed a bank"
Bro this ascended me🤣🤣
where's the tai chi..
but it is interesting to see the guy is trying to adapt and try something different and unorthodox.
Right there on the video.
Taiji is movement
The Gloves of Boxing are a Weapon the Tai Chi Fighter are smart using the gloves to his advantage like Boxers do.
I don't think I know enough to take a strong position, but I can't help but think you're right that Chen Yufei is kind of having fun with this match (or maybe he's trying to avoid political backlash). I also think you're right that Li Ming will go home with the wrong message, and if he does go up against Xu Xiaodong he will almost certainly have a bad experience.
Most Tai.Chi masters get KOd by MMA fighters even Wing Chun get beat by MMA fighters!! 🔥⭕⭕🔥
The opening guard is used a lot in Shaolin gong fu wither that be ti chi chuan or harder gong fu. It is taught in drills to condition you to apply it naturally during sandai practise. You soon reach a level where you do not walk around in that stance but flow from one guard to another including hands down to bait an opponent!
Peace & Love!!!
Holding one arm up as a cross guard and punching with the other. Yes, that guard is called cross guard. But normally you don't put it up all the time but if you use it then with both arms.
Some very old school (it's never used in ONE Championship) Muay Thai fighters use a "Dracula Guard", similar to how he has one arm covering his chin but we extend one arm out to control distance and counter punch.
Buakaw uses it during his K-1 Glory days and beyond and some used it during the 80s "golden era" of Muay Thai
I think this Taichi guy knows a little bit about boxing. He got some moves.
The guy would lose against Xu Xiaodong but I could see him having a chance to win against his older student.
And, that guard looked quite goofy. I kept expecting to see it fail on him.
I have done tia chi ( mainly yang and chen ) and wing chung since 1986 and have NEVER seen a guard like that!
This fight is definitely not gonna be shown on Chinese social media
That would be interesting. I'll take a look soon to see if it makes it there. Qi La La is all over Chinese social media, so maybe Li Ming could be featured too. Just can't mention Xiaodong.
Xu Xiaodong would take exactly 12 seconds to destroy this Tai Chi "master".
Dracula guard is what they call it in muay thai. Normally this is useful against brawler type opponent. If u are taller, dracula guard has more advantage.
I'd love to see a Thai Chi Master vs a Ballet Dancer, my money is still on the Ballet Dancer
You think he'd beat Nico Alsup'?
Are you talking to the head of a middle aged man with salt and pepper hair?
I dont think I saw any Tai Chi in this video. But that guard did seem interesting. If he had more than one guard, plus he could actually throw a decent punch while in motion, he might actually do sort of well in competitions.
Guess he's just very confident in taking the hits, while covering his chin area. Also, for him personally its probably a quicker way to block with the whole lower arm than to have both boxing gloves under the chin.
Also, doing something unconventional is always an attempt to confuse the opponent, to get them thinking with their brains, rather with their muscle memory and reflexes (=leads to inefficiency, loss of speed and reactions)
Taiji guys guard looks like a high ward off which makes sense, the clasics say your opponent should not be able to get past your ward off...his structure is a bit wierd but that is also understandable, the stress in fighting is more intense than quietly doing form, its nice to see him try and understand the possibilities in the postures and principles. At least he is trying.
I imagine the ref having diarrhea caused by giardia, then no water to flush and wash.
Later on he "helps' with the mouthguard :)
The ref is wearing a SNOOD bruh!!!
Definitely not a Taichi guard but hey to each his own
he is doing a modified tiger stance guard
The taiji guy's guard is as strange as Yufei's clothing.
Just so everyone knows. This guy is clowning; not doing Tai Chi, let alone a "master."
Looks like he's trying a weird take on Gene Fullmer's guard.
Interesting! I will take a look!
you guys know Yufei is just messing around right?
The taiji gaurd looks like a high "fist under elbow" position.
Like a muay thai dracula guard
These two suck. My little brother can beat them at boxing. And he's only 18.
“What part of Tai Chi invented that guard?” The bogus part….so the Tai Chi part.
Ouch 🤓🤓
100% agree
How can you still be so sure tai chi is bogus when so much effective kung fu has showed up on this channel?
You should Search Wim Demeere. He is a dutch former Sanda and Muay Thai fighter, who uses tai chi. th-cam.com/users/ptccm
Not like taichi had rules or limitations.
Anything you can do, can be taichi.
Taichi is not strictly about limitations..
I dont get it. No Tai Chi going on.
Tai chi has so much value, and none of it is on display here. I don’t know why you insist on calling these people tai chi “masters”, some gentle trolling there I suspect. Also his guard is totally dumb, but also kind of smart for a self defense situation. Maybe 😂
Lastly, some good head movement from anime Matrix guy there
isnt ChenYufei a badminton champion ? did she start mma? would explain the dress.
Whoever is the tai chi guy. None of the two Challengers are using Tai Chi.
Didn't see any tai chi at all. It's boxing
Finally a Tai Chi Master that know Protect his Chin maybe this time Xu Xiaodong will lose I'm always rooting for the weaker guy obviously I'm hoping Tai Chi Guy won that would be fun.
im quite confident that isnt a tai chi guard, and is something he made up. If its from tai chi, im sure its being misapplied. I dont know tai chi to be a style that keeps static postures like that.
the guy in the guillotine choke.........if he was not saved .....he was choked very slowly
What the hell did i just watch
Not a tai chi master. If he was the fight would already be over.
I've head that Tai Chi is more of a grappling art. Then a striking art, plus those glove probably made it harder to use some of the grappling techniques.
Great match from many angles. The guard is his own but he is kind of doing a Peng super close to himself and getting so the best out of the gloves. I am sure that ìn a match without gloves he would have used another guard
Hey, at least they are learning to incorporate foreign techniques and concepts into their own fighting. Seems to be a shift in martial arts thinking that will last for awhile.
So when is Nico Alsup gonna spar Xu? I know he requested it?
He has a baby right now, so give it a few years.
Side kick and he is out
if the MMA guy punch harder the glove that in the mouth of tai chi guy, that glove will hit the mouth of the tai chi guy.
The guard reminds me of the old school jet kune do where you put one palm in front of the chin instrad the side of the head.
New kind of philly shell
That taichi dude is pretty bad😅
Any mantis kung fu guy could easily defeat this bullshido
0% vs 徐曉東, 秒殺
Reverse cross guard Gene Fullmer style
Sco scared of any throat punch.
Why the MMA guy is wearing an anime biker gang cosplay coat. That's the biggest question here.
And why is the taichi guy doing a guard like he's holding some shield and sword?
This kind of stance from the taichi guy is kind of interesting disallows the enemy to make critical face punches however this is easy counterable since his lower body is widely open from the side.
The mma could have thrown easly hook punches to the gut and played like mike tyson boxing. At least dodging did he like him well at the end.
I might have to try that taichi guard in pointfighting in taekwondo
I think Tai Chi guy needed dental work after that first fight, so now in this one, he's protecting it for dear life. LoL. Homie doubled down on the handicap and didn't even know it.
He covered his mouth becasue of bad breath.
Truth be told, there is no MMA in this clip. Tai Chi? Maybe. 🤦
Nothing is working for tai chi guy .. don't know why I watched this!?!
Completely unwatchable level of boxing. People REALLY need to stop considering boxing like it's just fighting with fists and every martial artist is capable of doing it just because their style includes hand strikes, it's an ignorant and oversimplified view that only produces total waste of time like these matches.
Again, boxing gloves. Why do they wear boxing gloves! Either mma gloves or BK. Lose the boxing gloves. These people are dumb dumb.
Dripped out
this shit is honestly embarassing
😂😂😂😂😮
A waste of everyone’s time
Two clowns playing at boxing
Another lemon chai tea. Next!!
A lot of these Chinese martial arts style have strikes that are not very effective with boxing gloves. Why don't they all wear MMA gloves instead? This way they can maximize their strikes and still protect their hands. AND if they lose they can't complain about not being able to use their punches and palms correctly. These self-proclaimed kungfu masters are always flopping. Xiadong works out regularly and can at least fight on an Amateur level. Most of, if not all of these self-proclaimed masters stand a chance.
Taichi guy's guard looks like a Karate style guard. I'm no Taichi (or Kungfu) expert but I've never seen anyone use that guard before.
Gotta give it up to the Tai chi old heads though, at the very least they're willing to fight.
Doesn't seem like young guy really wants to knock him
Im assuming they are not allowed to kick, like this is a boxing match. If tai chi man was allowed to use his legs I believe he would've won. There are way too many things you can do to your opponent. I don't understand why he doesn't throw him on the ground. Tai chi can get really brutal when used in actual combat. Limb breaking and throws. I didn't see any holds here or any crazy moves. It seems like there was still 3/4 of moves that were unused by taichi man.
