    Oh, and I'm curious: Do Bulgarians typically celebrate Christmas on the 25th of December? Or on the 7th of January, in accordance with the Orthodox calendar?

      Yes, the 25th. The Bulgarian Orthodox church follows the Gregorian (“western”) and not the Julian calendar - like for example Romania and Greece.
