I believe the speed comes along with distance not time. At 25:40 you can see the train is at 0.203m/s and as it goes backward it slows to 0.202m/s and gets back to 0.203m/s as it comes back to the same forward distance.
Love how at the end, Michael; Gavin; and Ryan started panicking, yet Jeremy comes up and says in the most calm tone ever - "I found iron..." (33:55) MVP there, the most level-headed person in the bunch... which says a lot! (lol)
I love this still. It's addictive to watch. Really though, that compass is useless. I keep hoping someone will buy the ghost wagon, because they won't get "stuck" behind, next to, or generally cut off by the train. It would make their parking much easier.
I don't know about that, it would make the train longer and only free up one wagon that they can move through, unless it happens to be in a spot where they can cross to the other side, it seems like it would overall be useless.

I like the mix of almost zen-like calm... and absolute batshit chaos. This crew in particular tends to have the most amusing commentary during calm moments, and some great panic responses (though nobody panics like Geoff - RIP Geoff).
Oh boy. This game again. Watching the tracks placed pose an impending blockade when the train catches up is always tense because you know you can't help them and they're too busy in the game to realize they screwed themselves

It looks like when you double the train back the way the screen scrolling reverses direction. If that is true then surely the trick to this game is to serpentine left to right as much as possible allowing players to collect resources and moving them towards the next station. You don't have to have all the resources on the train so having easily accessible bundles ready for the next stage makes sense. Just be careful not serpentine so much that you don't have resources to make track to get to the station. They need to serpentine more and take their time. Cool vid!
The terain changes when you upgrade the train engine, just saying, and the ghost car would have really helped them not get stuck or blocked. But all in all love the video and cant wait for more. Definitely gives the chaotic vibe of overcooked when AH plays.
its frustrating how bad they are at the bridges. I'll say I'm early in the vid so it may get better. But they constatly block themselves off or make the track on the wrong side. From what I've seen it's mostly Ryan too which is really odd.
I think it may be best to have the train with several cars before upgrading the engine, as it seemed every time you did the entire level scape changed. Maybe grabbing the animal car and ghost car may help immensely since they help to simplify the animal spam and allow easy access to the other side.
The biome changes with the train cart, so you upgrade in order to slow down the train, but you also have to deal with the new challenges of the next area.
Michael is so much better at working for the team than Jack is. No offense to Jack, of course, Michael just is much more "GUYS WHAT DO YOU NEED ME TO DO I NEED INSTRUCTIONS" than Jack XD

So as I found out by watching this, the train gets faster, the longer you take. Which means, serpentining is NOT advisable.
I think it goes faster on straights but gets slower on corners. But yea, overall it gets faster with time.
There were times when it definitely helped. Just getting a few extra seconds was useful to gather resources so they could snowball later.
