Vans Ave 2.0 are the most painful shoes I've ever owned for 2 days. I returned them. They're terrible. So I picked up some Vans old skool skates and some half cabs and my feet were very happy. I hope Vans isn't losing their way. The Ave 2.0 is a shit shoe. I spoke with the guys at my local vans store and they said everyone complained about the pain.
Yeah I wonder if they did any sort of r&d cause I never had this much issues with a pair of shoes .... it feels like they put together something sounds good but no testing...
@@2FTSK8 I had the same thought. Like surely someone at Vans must have tried them on and said "This hurts like hell". I can't imagine no one noticed it.... unless they didn't really test them.
As much as these shoes look good it seem like they didn’t really feel that good. I appreciate all the work put into this and the honesty and thoroughness. Great that you mentioned a wide foot and the issues with this shoe. I hope the other sessions go better. Thanks for saving me a lot of money. I may try them on if I’m in the mall with my kids, but I’m not ordering.
Yeah I'm gonna try one more time and if it goes well I will try more but if it still hurts some much I will have to give it up... I think my pain tolerance is pretty high and most people won't willing to go through this much trouble to wear a shoes... anyways thanks for watching!!!
@@2FTSK8 I definitely agree. You did a lot to try to make these shoes work. I agree with your method of trying to expand this issue and then just all that testing too. You really gave them a very very thorough running test. I hope the other sessions it isn’t so painful. I’m curious about the ASICS skate shoes and how they are.
Vans is weird now with sizing, I have to go up half a size on some models like the slip on. But the old school and sk8 hi are true to size for me. Wouldn't buy a new model online if I haven't tried them on, just saying...
Yeah I think they have multiple different manufacturers and they all have different sizing or something... it's weird.... definitely need to go try them on
Great review man! I've watched most of the reviews of this shoe and yours was the best and most interesting to me. I absolutely love the previous version of this shoe, and grabbed extras when they went on sale, was bummed it got discontinued. But I have the same issue with the narrowness. I bought a metal shoe stretcher a couple years ago for 35 bucks. Every pair I get I soak the suede in shoe stretcher liquid and stretch the hell out them, and then they are perfect, best sneaker I've ever had, fit like a glove, no slop. Because the AVE's are so strong they can take a solid stretching. So I'm hoping that when I eventually run out the old AVEs and have to try this version out I'll have the same luck, even though the old ones look better to me. I loved the minimalist design, and the ventilation. Besides skating they're great as a driving shoe too. Thanks again for making the video!
Yeah I wish the fitting and folding was more usual vans but it definitely wasn't.... if I were you I'll go try it at the store .... so you know what you're dealing with... it's not much similar to first one ....
Vans should just bring back the Alomar shoe, not to get into tech sports shoe. Vans tried here to be what they are not, I'm glad they failed. Btw, how were the heel flips with them?
It's sad because the first ones were really good. I wasted $120 on these ones and regret it. I typically wear 12 with all shoes and can even size down to 11.5 but with these, they were tight as fuck and I prob would've been able to wear 13.
Yeah the shoe shape was like Nike and the shoe was long compared to other vans and like a half size small or something.... it's was more like pressure points that hurt me the most....

As soon as I saw this, I got excited and was thinking get my popcorn ready.
🤣🤣🤣 thanks !!!

Yup. Good advice. Thanks man
I'm getting them in the mail today. Great, could've saved money on something more comfy.
I would try them on and return it if you don't like it ....
You have such a good kickflip dude. Thanks for saving me money, because i was thinking about ordering them
Yeah I felt like I needed to let people know I'm glad it helped !!
Oh n thanks for the compliment I been skating for 26years now ... at least I should land kickflip lol

Yeah I agree 100% .... I haven't got to do heel flip with the shoes ... I'm gonna put em on at least one more time ...
Nyjah called he wants his shoes back
Cuts lace guard off
It was pinching my foot very sharply and I didn't need the shoe lace

@@2FTSK8 Yeah they like pinched the front part of my toes where like the shoe creases when you walk.
Even the AVE 1 shoe was sized funny. I have three pairs all the same size and they all fit different. Smh
Yeah don't know what's going on with this shoes ... even left and right felt very different...
That’s vans in general
Well that's my mind up made then. I don't think I'll be buying these 😂
Yeah don't get it
Thats the worst review ive seen someone give a sk8 shoe..thanks for your honisty
I'll take as a compliment... It was worst skate shoes I've ever skated
