Trying so hard to get off methadone. On it for 24 yrs. Got myself down to 7 mgs. It's so hard. Can't get out of bed & I have responsibilities. Any advice??
@@kimberlydavies4822 omg you're dragging out the suffering. I went down from 150 to 60 dropping 2mg a day. Then 2mg a week till i got to 16mg. I felt awful. I knew once i was off I'd feel better. Eat ONLY healthy foods even if you have to force something down. If you were to stop now, you'd feel a little worse but ONLY for a short time. I had difficulty sleeping that first week but was NOT EVEN CLOSE TO AS BAD AS PEOPLE THINK. Eat healthy, no ciggs no weed no caffiene. You'll think They're going to help but will make worse. Within 3 weeks I was feeling amazing mentally. And physically. I'd be willing to give any advice i can. You've been suffering for too long. Get it over with and have your FREEDOM. Love and strength.
P.s. I know the battle.

As a recovering addict I commend you for your bravery and congratulate you for you sharing your life. We all struggle and community is a big help. Here in support of you bro
Don't worry about it Kurt, one relapse isn't a big thing it's just a slip. I've been a fucked up junkie for over 40 years but still managed to keep a full time job and bring up a family. I turned 60 in April and promised myself I would be clean by then but it never happened so fuck it this looks like my lot so I might aswell enjoy it.
When you fall, you dust yourself off and start again. If you fall again you start again and again. Just don’t quit bro.
Feel for you brother I relapsed like 6 months ago been on drugs everyday. Still handling my business but I know this shit is not ok. Derek was the man who helped me get off the fetty watching his WD videos I would replay them over and over through the sickness so I wouldn't feel like I was alone in the nightmare. I know what you mean about getting high for no reason. I hope you get sober soon so I get a little motivation to get clean again.

I’m glad that Kurt thinks of this TH-cam channel and the community that surrounds it as a way of holding himself accountable. Ive followed you since the start and ive really always wondered how you were doing. I am so glad yourve done great for all this time. So dont let this bad patch get u too down.
I suffer from anxiety ajd depression aswell and ive kept well too but i have had one or two mess ups and pulled myself round quickly. But i know the after effects do seem to last forever and your so annoyed at yourself for all the good work you have done.
U sill did the hard work then and now and you will get there ✌️🫶...keep us posted from time to time and i wish u all the best.

Your sooooo lucky to have an older bro who is clear headed and is a great guy and i feel like i can read peoples souls well... ive been watching darek for years and love his inspirational vids ... kurk is like myself the younger wild bro ... but trust me darek no one in your life loves you like kurt does he myt not show it or express it like i dont but we love our bros more then anything ore anyone its gods greatest blessing to have a bro who loves you no matter what... we have to forgive to be forgivn just know if you guys are going through it that you atleast made a impact on me and saving one person is worth alot i want to say thank you guys and you guys are always in my mind

Feck sake I missed your live again , looking well anyway. 9 years sober for Derek that’s excellent, that’s how long I’ve been watching you guys and I’ve relapsed time and time again since but I’m doing so much better now. You’ll get there in the end Kurt you really will but you gotta change more than just your drug habit you know 💕
Dam i missed this. It's great seeing you both. Don't get hung up on the small slip. Dam think of how far you have come. You need to go back and look at the videos u made when u 1st moved there and were in bad bad withdrawal. You feel too much about life. A total empath .i really hope you do more videos. ❤❤❤
I just barely missed it. Would have liked to see the two of you live. You both look really good. Glad to see Derek is having a lot of success on his other channel. I have been clean for years, but I felt horrible less night. I needed some kind of talk last night, or it would be helpful. You're doing great Kurt, keep going strong brother. I have been through the very challenging mental fight that you talk about sometimes, it's very very hard, but we have to keep doing our best. Either way, glad you guys are doing well. Yo Kurt, you thinking getting on MAT such as Suboxone would be beneficial to your sobriety term? I understand you just had a lapse, not a full flown relapse. So it might not be necessary. Something to think about perhaps. Take care bro!

Hey kurt, i gotta be honest, from your last videos before these I kinda knew from the way you was in those videos it was coming man, I was just hoping that if it was a relapse then it was just gonna be the once and you’d jump straight back on it!! It’s crazy cus I see myself and how I am in you so much! The guilt and shame you must have felt after you did it and the drugs wore off, I can just imagine you feeling exactly how id have felt, I’m still in active addiction and I literally feel helpless, and when I watch your videos you give me so much hope that if you can do it then I can do it, it’s the mind games after getting clean that are the hardest to get through!! But you can do it bro! Don’t feel embarrassed or ashamed mate!! These things happen, like you said it was a one time one thing and you didn’t carry on!! He’s got it so easy. Sounds like he grew up with a rich family (vacations in Puerto Rico) and now he even has a rich brother to live off of. If I had all that, it be so easy to stay sober
